  1. How do you manage the fact that DCS does not offer any realistic scenario ? Isn't it silly to offer a simulation with absolute non sense in regards of geopolitics ? When was the last time we saw Soviet/Russian planes engaged in a conflict against western air forces over Georgia ? Please, this is a game first and foremost, let's not forget it. The point of this game is to explore the realm of possibilities within the constraints of the hardware available. I firmly believe that a weapon should be available on a platform if it is possible to mount it IRL. If the weapon requires a specific system/hardware update, then sure, it shouldn't be available ; but if a plane could carry an ordinance without software update or hardware modifications, then why not offering it ? Let explore different doctrines if we can do it.

    RWR update

    Thank you for the update.
  3. The people involved in the creation of the map and the assets are not the same working on the aircrafts.
  4. I love it ! Fantastic work, thank you very much !
  5. As long as a platform can be equipped with a weapon in real life, I'd love to have a choice to use a different doctrine that the one used by their real counterpart. If DCS was truly a beast of authenticity the game istself would defeat its own purpose : exploring "what if" scenarios/conflicts. I think most of the players, even the most dedicated, are actually flying hypothetical missions/campaigns. Using alternative loadouts is, from my point of view, one of the main DCS selling point. How can I tackle a situation from a different perspective ? Is this more efficient ? If it's not, why's that ? And would that be the reason that led actual air forces to adopt a specific way to operate ? Then, let's try to follow their thinking process. I see DCS as a learning/pedagogical tool rather than a perfect real life reconstruction.

I had the same problem flying as the Chef de bord, the only solution I found was to lower my microphone volume output in the Windows settings and deactivate the "Microphone Automatic Gain Control" in the SRS Settings tab.
  7. I wish to add some precisions about your post. I started flying the Gazelle by the end of July 2020, since then, I flew a little less than 50 hours on this aircraft, comprising more than 30 hours in multicrew. We run missions on a dedicated server, the pilot does not need to host the mission anymore. However, the pilot still need to be the first to enter the aircraft and only then to invite his chef de bord to join him. We don't suffer from any desync when rearming/refueling, we do it regularly, especially in training sorties. The major inconvenience of multicrew happens if a multicrewed Gazelle is going down. In this case, the two players cannot join anymore a shared aircraft unless the server is restarted and the two players quit DCS and launch it again - we are lucky, we never crashed during the last 25 missions. I can't say much about the flight model, I never flew a helicopter and I never played with any other helos since Apache Longbow from Jane's. However, the other guys of the squadron are fully dedicated to the rotaries and they started flying again the Gazelle some time ago (I understand Polychop made some changes in a "recent" past). They love it. If anyone already own the Gazelle, you should probably try it again. Visit the youtube page From Casmo, a former Kiowa and current Apache pilot, he's also helping PC with their Kiowa. You'll find on his page a very valuable video about how to setup your curves with the Gazelle, works much better than the curves I was using.
  8. It would be nice for sure.
  9. Hello Ansirial, Here I go with some requests/comments. Do you think you could add an option to add mutliple victories of the same type instead of adding them one by one ? Last weekend I noticed that most of my sorties were not associated with a specific plane. I had to edit most of the events to record the aircraft I flew with. Yesterday after logging a new sortie, I made sure to select the aircraft and saved the event. After review, the aircraft's name was missing and I had to edit the sortie to add it. Could you look into this minor problem ? Thank you !
  10. Hello guys ! First of all, thank you Taz for your mod, the video you just shared is really amazing ! I installed the current version of the mod and I have a problem that has been discussed a few posts above. At long distance, the trees depiction is a pattern of green dots ; I had this problem prior the installation of your mod and I thought that perhaps these new trees could solve my problem. Anyone knows how I could fix this situation ? Thanks.
  11. Super cool initiative !
  12. Thank you for your reply. I'll restrain myself to suggest more ideas until you've made progress on your own objectives for Logbook. Your statistics page looks very promising !
  13. Hello Ansirial, I have some suggestions/questions. Is there any way to hide or collapse the Leaderboards placed on the left menu ? As it is now, it does not fit my needs but perhaps if we could later use the leaderboards within the virtual squadron we're enlisted in and compare its pilots, it would be fun and create some emulation between the members. Do you think you could discriminate the training hours and the combat sorties flown ? Or is it already on your to do list for the future statistics page ? Thanks !
  14. Fantastic ! Thank you for the update !
  15. Not with OpenFlightMaps. You can find a tutorial on Youtube, just look for "Tacview Mapview" as keywords and you'lle find a video uploaded late last year.
  16. I am afraid this is exactly what you chose to be when you bought an early access module.
  17. Fantastic news, thank you ! I already edited my previous flights to update them. Is there a way to see how many hours we flew on a particular machine ? I didn't find it. I have another suggestion regarding the timeline. It would be cool if we could choose an event to be included in the timeline. On a calendar event, an additional button at the bottom of the window would be displayed and by clicking it, the sortie would be added to the timeline. It would be an easy way to find and read an entry of a memorable sortie. Here's how I envisionned the option.
  18. The new Syria map seems really good, but the Falklands maps will offer so much more content wise. With the very large number of assets being included with the theater we will have the first true comprehensive map to play with. No other DCS map at this time offer a true relevant environment. The South Atlantic map will. This is the project I'm the most interested in for a few months now - excepting DCS core enhancements.
  19. The latest FrenchPack (3.5) has armed pickups and VBIEDs. It's a long stretch to download it if you're not interested in french hardware but you'll have some additional insurgents assets.
  20. In an interview given a month ago, Razbam said an Early Access was planned by the end of this year. This is the last official word about it.
  21. I'm logging manually each one of my sorties and I decided to not score victories earned during training flights. I really could not speak for others regarding this question, it's more a matter of personal preference at this point. Looking forward to the possibility of adding this functionality.
  22. Hi Ansirial, I was logging some flight time a few minutes ago and I thought it would be cool and useful to distinguish combat sorties and training sorties. Do you think it's doable and/or relevant to your logbook project ? The ability to see at a glance the ratio of hours spent in training/combat could be quite interesting from my perspective.
  23. From what I read elsewhere, he went for accurate representation for others vehicules too. I don't know if he went all in for the complete line up though.
  24. Thanks for the reply. I'm using only the manual log, I'll wait for the future implementation of the feature. Cheers.
  25. I've been playing with the new statics for a bit, I noticed a naming error. The FARP Tent Desert and FARP Tent Green have been reversed. Thank you again, it's really impressive.
