Militariy Aircraft Mod
tugais replied to BlackLibrary's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Thank you to the team behind this mod, it is really fantastic. I was wondering if someone on the team was thinking about "updating" the F-117 model we currently have in DCS with a new model included in your mod. Just a question thrown out there, I don't expect it to happen, but who knows ? I had to ask. -
I am simply asking about it as I don't know what we can expect from Winwing. With the current global situation there could be some hiccups in production/shipping.
-
Hello WinWing, I was wondering if you already planned something for a 3rd batch before the end of the year or if we will have to wait for 2021. On another note, do you plan to make some changes to the current hardware ? I read on another thread that you were hard at work with the software part, what about the HOTAS itself, do you consider it final ? Thank you.
-
The Phantom is already planned by ED themselves. They already share screenshots of the F4 model at the time Belsimtek was still detached from ED. The F4 will come at a later date.

This is clearly something missing in DCS, I love the idea of this project, thank you for your time and work. As Crow mentioned I'd love to see another solution allowing me/us to not send data to an unknown server. I subscribed to the thread, I can't wait to see the project grow.
-
As you said, it has been discussed over and over, and the developper stated multiple times accross multiple threads that they will offer a new FM to the Gazelle. I bought this aircraft too but at this point the only thing we can do is to wait for their work to be completed. If I learnt one thing by playing DCS is to manage my expectations toward development process.
-
I don't care if they charge me full price even if I own the -C. I want the developper to thrive and offer us high quality/fidelity modules, they would deserve each penny for a -5 developped under the Armée de l'Air supervision. However, let's not get our hopes too high. There has not been talks about the -5 for a very long time and even if Razbam said in October 2018 a Fox 3 Mirage would come, there's still a chance something might go wrong and the project be canceled. We really need to manage our expectations here.

[OLD BUG REPORTS] Cleaning and Organization of old posts
tugais replied to RAZBAM_ELMO's topic in Resolved Bugs
The way it is handled right now is the best one if the OP can keep with it. You just have to go to the first post to see what's waiting to be fixed, very useful. Many thanks to MyHellJumper for his work. -
Thank you for the update on the current work in progress.
-
The good news is that Polychop announced a revised Gazelle flight model after the Kiowa release. It's all about patience now.
-
Yes it will be. That's an information that has been shared on Discord a few times by the team.
-
You can find a summary and complementary information in the following thread . We are waiting for a status update from the team.

Sorry I didn't realize I was unsubscribed from this thread and didn't noticed the attachments went broken. I made a new map from Google Maps, this is more or less the surface I submitted in my original post. The blue dots are the respective PLAAF and ROCAF airbases. Firt post updated with this map.

Are you being sarcastic ? I can't tell. These issues have been documented for the past weeks/months/years by numerous community members. As already said, Elwood told us that he had to attend another project but these issues are very real and can't be dismissed as you just did. The last Open Beta patch added significant updates to the artistic aspect of the module but nothing has been done systemwise.

I just want to point out that in Razbam's case, not all their products are in early access. The Mirage, at least, left EA for over a year if I'm not mistaken. What we need to do as customers is to vote with our wallets, this is the only viable way to change the course of the current development policy within DCS World. Complaining every day won't achieve anything. We need to continue to report the current bugs found in our planes on a regular basis or bump up a thread that has been forgotten for too long until these bugs are added to the bug tracker. If someone asks for the current state of a plane, reply in a courteous manner and point out to the various topics describing the problems affecting the module, then let this person makes his own choice. Being over critical is not the way we'll get our modules being completed. Next time you are hyped by a new module announcement, just reflect on the past work of the developers. Did they get their previous modules out of early access ? How long did it take ? Is the developer communicative, straightforward and transparent with its customers ? These three simple questions should certainly help you to make the right choice and perhaps prevent you from joining the dissatisfied crowd.

Thank you guys for the answer, I didn't know DCS was only a part of their business. A lot of things are a lot clearer knowing this, thank you again.

Would you provide the source to this quote ? I don't remember reading such thing on these forums or their Discord server. Thank you.

Perhaps with the next Open Beta update and the implementation of the new lightning improvements ? Who knows ? -
It is not. I think another Open Beta release has to come first before we get another Stable release. The thing is, the next Open Beta will include a massive update for core elements of DCS (new clouds, new lightning effects, etc. ...) and this update is set to be release at some time in February. After the Open Beta is released, we will have to wait several weeks before a Stable release.

So I thought I had MK-82 figured out. But confusion is back.

Here you go. This is an element of the 476th Range Targets Package. -

What's your speed ? There is a minimum and maximum value to be able to drop the bombs. -
From an artistic point of view the Mirage is indeed being worked on. Code wise it's unclear, Elwood, the Mirage coder said on December 5th that he had to attend another task. This is the last time he mentioned working on the Mirage on Discord. The Mirage is not going anywhere, you can still wait for the bug fixes and enjoy a future sale to buy it.

I will reply from the perspective of someone who flies only one aircraft, the Mirage 2000. In the present state I would not recommend the Mirage to a close friend looking for a study sim level module. The Mirage had several updates a few months ago - including the new cockpit which is fantastic - but unfortunately, these updates brought down some critical aspects of the sim (the radar being one). If you plan to fly the Mirage casually you will probably be fine and have a lot of fun with her. The handling is outstanding and place the aircraft on the top of DCS modules dogfighter. This is also an excellent introductory module, easy to learn, hard to master. The most recent bug reports made by some of the most regarded players in the Mirage community : AG weapons: going into attack mode triggers AA radar close combat mode. radar elevation control bugged: you can't trust the min/ max altitude values next to radar cursor as soon as you move up/ down the scan zone. TWS: detect only one target. Bore sight mode: offset to the right Vertical scan: offset to the right. vertically it scans +/-15° instead of -10°/+50° SVI & vertical scan (depending on selected weapon) are triggered before bore sight. You can change radar range in close combat mode (it should be 10Nm scale only) The radar screen displays line number setting even when using 1 line mode (like displays 4 in TWS which is 1 line only...it should not) The symbols used to identify contacts on top or bottom line (V with wings or under lined) are now unusable. Like target at the same altitude, radar elevation 0° on 4 lines scan mode. The contacts should be detected on line 2 & 3 (with overlap). So it should be displayed as simple V. Currently it's switching between V with wings and V Waypoint positions are bugged. Waypoints don't appear in the game world where you set them in the ME. This, coupled with #1, makes IP bombing useless. It also means the Mirage cannot drop on a waypoint or perform any cold war style strike mission. IP bombing is not consent to release like it should be. These reports come from Jojo and LastRifleRound. Some are new and have been introduced in the last updates, some are in the sim for at least 18 months. For the moment we don't know when the Mirage coder will be back, last time we heard of him was on December 5th on Discord to announced he had to move on something else - no, he didn't tell us. At the end of the day, you only have two choices : - Flying the Mirage for fun and at times, in this case go for it ! - Diving into a study sim as close as possible to the real things thanks to the Armée de l'Air input, at the moment it's a "meh …". You will have to decide if some of the bugs listed here are problematic for you. We've been in a pretty rough situation lately. The Mirage squadron I fly with had lost 60% of its pilots in the last year because they could not wait for the bug fixes. The bright side is the Razbam update for 2020 that assured us to complete the module this year. Some of us still have faith.
