I tried today to download them and I also experienced a problem. Mapview downloaded the required files from the service but the image files seem to be empty. I'll ask Detox to see if he's able to pinpoint the problem.

Hi Ansirial, Thank you for the continuous support of Logbook, it's great to see it grow. I have a question regarding the informations logged. Do you think you could add an additional entry to specify the aircraft flown on a sortie and perhaps a way to know how many hours has been spent with a particular plane or helicopter ?

The mod is no longer available. Perhaps you could try to contact the author directly on Checksix forums ? I'm not sure he's willing to share it anymore. Plus, he's pretty busy on working on a French Navy mod at the moment.

This is an incredible work, thank you for doing this. I'm sure we will have plenty of opportunities to use these liveries with the upcoming Marianas map.

Make the champs élysées in DCS world
tugais replied to Wakimonio's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
The tools needed to create a map can only be acquired via Eagle Dynamics and through a 3rd party developper agreement. -
This is not the first time I read Sharpe's comment on this very subject when he tries to dismiss a point by exactly doing the opposite and proving that something must be done about the current implementation. That's odd.

I just watched a youtube video from a former Rafale pilot who retired 2-3 years ago. He's actually using DCS as a training tool within a company he created after leaving the french navy. In his video he states that he has to use the label system to overcome the poor rendition of the visibility in ACM and BFM situations. This former fighter pilot is not the only one to use labels, I already watched on youtube others fighter pilots from the US using labels too. The fact that fighter pilots use labels and that one of them is clearly stating that DCS has some rendering issues makes me think that something is definitely off at the moment.

You should give a try at this logbook developped by a community member.

Hello Ansirial, Just a little request, somewhat trivial. You misspelled the french air force name ; currently it is spelled "Arméè de l'Air", it is in fact "Armée de l'Air". If you happen to do some minor corrections to the LOGbook, could you add this one to the list please ? Thanks !

The map will have the Argentinian coast and some mainland Air Force bases to take off from. This information has been shared by the team several months ago on their Discord server. Cheers.

This is not a specific Mirage problem. The Viper has the same problem as Jojo mentioned and no Mirage is needed to be affected by this behavior.

Strange, I can't access the webpage via my previous link but if I go directly to the website it works : https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/us-would-lose-any-war-fought-in-the-pacific-with-china-7j90bjs5b

Thank you for continuing your work and asking for our input. It took me a while but I finally decided to create an account and go for it. I used to keep my stats in the old fashion way (pen and paper). This is really a nice project, the UI is super clean and intuitive, congrats !

Or perhaps this is related to something Ron said in the interview he gave to the Air Combat Sim Podcast a few days ago. He mentioned that they secured a deal for the Harrier very similar to the one they made with the French Armée de l'Air, perhaps something bigger is in the works. Pure speculation from my part.

The only other commercial combat flight simulation has a better business model from my point of view. They charge you for a base game and you get access to 8 planes, a dynamic campaign and you can fly on any other maps from others volumes in multiplayer. Plus, they offer a Premium version of the base game with two additional aircrafts ; if you do not wish to buy this premium version, you can always pay for those premium aircrafts as a single airplane. When they improve their core game thanks to the development of the next intallment of the series, all the previous volumes get the updates for free. The preorder runs for several months before being released and the new aicrafts and new features are added step by step to the core. At the end of the day, I think they have a much clearer vision of their customer base and to the attached revenues. This must play a key role to their way to handle development.

Not so long ago, the Mirage did not have a functioning radar. It was simply broken as you could not track any kind of contact. Playing on the stable release to avoid such development trouble, I and many others, had to wait for six months before flying again the Mirage. Six freaking months, half a year ! Isn't that kind of situation bad enough to allow users to complain or express their concerns about a module ? I am not very vocal regarding my discontent, I'd rather do something else with my spare time, but reading comments like yours is worrisome. Customers have a right to demand transparency from the company who sold them a product. It can be annoying to read the same comments from the same person over and over, but this is not a reason to silence those who have legitimate questions about their purchase. If you're sick of all these complaints, you have two choices : don't read the topics asking for informations or add to your ignore list some of the users.

I don't get the need for starting (again) a new argument. Polychop already acknowledged their FM had to be rebuild and that they will do it after the Kiowa release. At this point you're just beating a dead horse. From what I saw in the Barandus and the Casmo youtube videos, the Kiowa FM is as close as we can get from the real aircraft. Having two pilots with several decades of experience in total saying the FM is that good is reassuring regarding the future work on the Gazelle. Give the team some slack - at least until the new FM is done and release.
-
I sure wish they won't release it until they feel the module is complete. They took the right decision to not releasing it as an early access module ; they need to rebuild their community after the Gazelle criticisms.

A lot of pictures have been posted on Razbam's twitter feed in the last few hours - there's also two links to videos showing a flight of Harrier taking off from Mount Pleasant and another of a Huey flying over the island. Despite the lower quality of the screenshots and the videos due to VR capture, the work seems to be amazing. I really hope they take their time to finish it and deliver it with the huge amount of assets they are working on to go along the map.

Gorgeous ! An amazing work.

There's nothing wrong with this as they continue the work on these modules. They have demonstrated, at least for the Mirage (I don't fly the Harrier), that they are willing to go back to the drawing table and do important modifications (new 3D cockpit and revision of the weapon system logic). They even mentioned several months ago that a revamp of the 3D model would come at a certain point. I love your gif though xD

The Air Combat Sim podcast published today an interview of Ron (Prowler). There is a wide variety of topics discussed. Here's a link to the interview : For those who can't listen to it, I made a transcription and gathered the informations by topic on this link. A lot of new informations about the Harrier, the Falklands, the Sea Harrier and an upcoming british carrier, the F-15E, etc. ... An excellent episode overall !

According to Ron who gave an interview to the Air Combat Sim podcast (published today), the Bronco is a low priority project. Nothing else to report for now as it is a personal project from Prowler (Ron).
