  1. Excellent news! Another buy for me. That little bit about the Mi-24 has got me excited as well.
  2. I joined this esteemed club last night. Going to be funny later this year on all the servers...everyone will be flying Mirage 2000s. :)
  3. Good luck ED! Looking very much forward to this. Thanks for the fun. It has been a long journey.
  4. Just discovered this last night. Friend and I got online to fly a mission I created specifically to practice radio navigation and we found out the host was fine but client could not get the signal. Does anyone know whether this is fixed in DCS 1.5?
  5. I saw that too and was happy as a clam. I was actually talking about the need for something like this with another virtual pilot the other day because we were in flight and really needed to be able to do this but couldn't. A very welcome feature.
  6. Okay, that is what I thought but as mentioned was a bit confused. So then it is the "quick start" way then. Thanks.
  7. Forgive me community but I am a bit confused regarding this issue. It has been a while since I've done this and I have not found the definitive answer yet so I'm asking here. This week, I will be upgrading my PC with respect to graphics card and RAM. Now I've looked at and read the "quick start" guides of the various modules and they have (at the beginning) a pretty good description of how to deactivate and activate your modules one by one. My question is though cannot I deactivate and reactivate my modules in the module manager? Can I do this by just "unchecking" them one by one in those boxes with the check-marks? Can I then reactivate them one by one by rechecking them in those boxes?
  8. LOL. I too spent enormous time trying to figure this one out until one day I saw in Chuck Owl's guide to the Mi-8 that there was a knob behind the co-pilot-navigator to turn those lights on. Go figure. :megalol:
  9. That is a very good idea. Chuck's guides are really done well. I use them regularly and I'm a veteran of DCS since 1995. :joystick: Yep, I'm old.
  10. As long as the aircraft makes me look good despite my inefficiencies. :smilewink:
  11. I am so looking forward to this module.
  12. Same here. Always found this plane to be on my want list.
  13. Not yet. Have you checked out Chuck Owl's guide to the Mi-8? That is what I'm using and it is superb.
  14. But when flying with another human being (wingman), TWS mode is also good for one guy acting as mini-AWACS, feeding his wingman descriptive data as to what is going on out in front while said wingman is tasked as the killer. Mini-AWACs is back-up. I have found this to be quite effective. As GG and others have said in previous posts, teamwork is the paramount key in realistic virtual combat flying.
  15. Interesting and great thread. Been wondering about this sight myself the last few days since I've been flying this beautiful aircraft.
  16. Curious, what is "visual recon mode?" I've seen the reference to it before and I've seen the command in the Huey controls commands but have no idea what it does.
  17. First thing I'm going to do is bomb the Hoover Dam. :pilotfly:
  18. Thank you. That was actually very helpful. Before I couldn't get this aircraft started. Using your method I was able to consistently.
  19. Absolute beautiful work! Thank you for this.
  20. When sitting on the ground, making final preparations for take-off when I go to "cage" both Attitude Indicators; caging the co-pilots AI turns off the Autopilot Pitch/Roll. I have not tried this in flight but it happens every time on the ground.
  21. Found what I think is a bug. When you have the Autopilot Pitch-Roll on, if you go to the co-pilot's seat and reset his Attitude Indicator, it turns off the Pitch-Roll Autopilot.
  22. Already saved up for this beautiful plane. Thank you for creating this classic warplane. Going to have a lot of fun flying it and designing missions for it.
  23. +1
  24. Nicely done. I thought the end scenes of the viewpoint staring at picture below the HUD was rather poignant.
