Is it just me or does the Tiger's Rockets actually suck ? I don't know if this is typical of All Modules/Rockets because I haven't flown other aircraft (other than the Mustang) for many months. I had the heaviest load of Rockets that the Tiger can carry and set it up to fire 1 rocket from each of 4 pods per pickle press. I have a mission with a "tight group/line" of parked Lightly Armored Infantry Vehicles. I took several passes at this line and fired my entire load of rockets was fired and was only able to kill 1 of 12 vehicles. I know damn well I was hitting them .. heck I can hardly miss them. But the Overall Damage and/or the Splash Damage Radius seems way too weak. I know Splash Damage from all sorts of ordinance has been a issue over the years but I thought by now this was resolved. Is it just me or are others finding the same lousy results ? Is it just the Tiger II and its Rockets or is it the same for All Rockets in All Modules ? BTW I'm usually always using the LAU 3 x 19 HEAT rockets. I don't have any better luck with HE (of course because these are Armored Vehicles albeit Lightly Armored .. i.e. Not Tanks). And there are no AP Rockets in the list but I think the HEAT are basically High Explosive Armor Piercing ... ?

[Bombs] Bombs damage radius. (Again again and again)
SnowTiger replied to Jowen G. Bruère-Dawson's topic in Object Bugs
First of all people, if you aren't helping then you aren't helping ! All you are doing is annoying the original poster which is unnecessary when that person is already understandably annoyed. The way I look at it is IF I cannot Help then I generally just avoid a post/thread. Besides, it just makes more work for ED to sort through posts to find those which are most helpful and/or significant. Then things might actually get fixed. I agree that the issue of Splash Damage and overall damage has been going on for years. There are too many indestructible things already (i.e. buildings and bridges) without having to script stuff. I have noticed many times in the past where rockets would do little or zero damage to tanks, even with direct hits. One week they'll work and then an update and months go by without any damage from the same rockets on the same targets/tanks etc. This is something that needs to be corrected for All Bombs and Rockets for ALL aircraft, once and for all and then NEVER mucked with again (if possible or unless absolutely necessary) IMO. -
I hope it is something that DCS/ED would like to eliminate as much as possible. I don't know that I would call this a big deal or anything but it is a bug of sorts. I was just farting around in the Gazelle today near Krasnodar Airport (checking out the abandoned open pit mine filled with water in mid-city !!) when I came across a Tear in the River Texture. At first, from a distance it looked like a Wire but up close it started looking like a Dock and walkway or something across the river. But upon closer inspection, I can see that it is a Tear or Rip in the River Texture where Grass/Ground is showing through from below (at least that's the best I can describe it). So I am attaching 3 screenshots of the Tear and 1 screenshot of the F10 Map to illustrate the Coordinates. NOTE: I could only view this texture error when facing roughly South. I could not see it facing North but could see a Line where it "appears" like 2 river/water textures meet.

Stick Twist/Rudder is really not conducive to smooth helicopter flight IMO. I highly recommend you find some inexpensive Rudder Pedals. They will make a Night/Day difference and improvement. There is allot of Rudder, Stick and Collective movements required for a smooth hover and/or landing. The movements are small but constant, especially if there is wind. However, having the Gazelle Trimmed properly for a hover before landing is also very helpful {a little nose up and a wee bit to the right} will take care of most of the movement. The rest is done with hands/feet/eyes coordination. I started with Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals but I found them a bit heavy for really fine-tuned rudder control. I switched to the Less Expensive CH Pro Flight Rudder Pedals with a Dead Zone of 3 at the center detente only. I find they work just dandy. If anyone wants lessons in the Gazelle or Huey and has a suitable Server we can join, I'll gladly help any time (except late evenings).

I agree that netcode could easily be an issue, however, I was flying Multi-crew during the early 1990's in Janes Lonbow. So it can't be "that" difficult. Changes to the way the internet works and things like netcode etc, probably do make it more difficult to make it work well. But without knowing anything about software design, I'd say it can't be that difficult to achieve considering how long ago it was when it was working just fine (in other software). But I'd rather have it working well (i.e. flawlessly) than have some half-A$$'d attempt released. So ya, it could take a while yet.

It would also be nice to see the GPS implemented in the Huey as well (not just for the Mi-8).

Shkval resets laser range, loses track of the target and slews away
SnowTiger replied to Sh4rk's topic in Bugs and Problems
Is this the same "wandering slew bug" that has existed for YEARS now ? I know there was an issue where the Shkval would randomly slew off target (especially at the worst possible moment) all the time. I stopped flying the Blackshark several years ago because of this very reason. -
Another similar option would be to "stack" the messages until we "clear" the stack with a key press or something (similar to turning Chat On/Off). I think this function should be available for aircraft messages (i.e. AWACS) and Mission Voice Messages that are shown in the top right of the screen. If the function to view them is on, we should have the option to leave them on the screen until we want to clear them, not be bound by the time specified by the mission author (which may only be 5 or 10 seconds).

I'm curious if the Multi-Pilot issue is a result of Ping ? I wonder if there shouldn't be a way to ensure that whoever jumps into the Co-Pilot's Slot has a Maximum Ping of "X" where "X" is set either by Polychop, DCS or the host Pilot ? I would think that at the very least, this should "help" prevent the loss of Sync between pits. On the other hand, it is unfortunate that the synced cockpits no longer works. It worked so well before ... at least for a little while.

I would definitely like to see this implemented ASAP. Since the suggestion was made 2 years ago, it would be great if ED were to give this the thumbs up and implement it for us immediately. Surely it cannot be that difficult to do can it ?

Can't Zoom View In/Out & Collective Not Working
SnowTiger replied to SnowTiger's topic in Bugs and Problems
@Chic In that case, I sincerely apologize. Unfortunately, I have met with many sarcastic replies in other threads that were not at all helpful. On the other hand, it is difficult to determine "tone" via text alone. When I read your Edit I thought you were trying to be smart. Obviously, when I'm already frustrated that just sets me off. But I am happy to report that I have just now resolved this specific issue. Somewhere along the line, one (at least) of the updates completely corrupted ALL of my saved Huey Controller Profiles. At this point I'm not aware of other profiles being corrupted (at least not that badly). While completely redoing all my settings (again), I noticed that in the Axis commands under my TrackIR Column, the very last input was the TiR Z Axis for Zoom which I had never noticed before. I have a common TiR Profile that I used for ALL aircraft and have not had this issue with other aircraft ... but I'll be looking for it because I do have an issue with Saving Snap Views in the Gazelle .. I'm constantly redoing those every time I get in the cockpit. Anyway, this issue is finally resolved. And again, my apologize to Chic. I appreciate that you were only trying to help. -
Hello again Gman109 Please see your PM's. I can swing this by July 9th.

Can't Zoom View In/Out & Collective Not Working
SnowTiger replied to SnowTiger's topic in Bugs and Problems
@Chic No actually I haven't done that. But I'm not in any hurry to do that either. Smart ass. In fact that is one of the most stupid answers I've heard yet. Ya let's get rid of everything and start over. How about a COMPLETE Uninstall and Reinstall ... AGAIN ? I have removed the Config Folder with everything in it as well as just the View and Input Folders to no avail which BTW ensures that I have to redo ALL aircraft settings again. How many times do we have do this stuff before DCS stops frigging around with it ? Never Mind ... I'll resolve it myself or won't fly the stupid thing. Luckily I have 200 other Modules to play with. I certainly don't need any more stupid replies from mouthy pups that's for sure. UNSUBSCRIBED ED .. You are welcome to Delete This Thread (since you aren't providing any input or support). -

Yup. Done all that, multiple times. Thanks. -
Can't Zoom View In/Out & Collective Not Working
SnowTiger replied to SnowTiger's topic in Bugs and Problems
PS> It's like I don't even have anything mapped to my Zoom View Hat (Stick) at all. And yet I don't have THIS issue with ANY OTHER MODULE. Only the Huey. That said, because I cannot zoom at all, I haven't even bothered trying to customize my default view (head/seat position and FOV) for the Huey in a long time so I have no idea if those Snap Views get saved at all (I have had an issue with this in the past with the Huey. Currently having that issue with the Gazelle). I do have Save Snap Views selected/checked in the Main Options/Profile thingy. -
Cannot Save Default Views - Head Position and Zoom I have been trying to get this issue resolved for MONTHS and getting nowhere. I would like Polychop to please respond so I can get this dealt with. It has gone on long enough. I have always been able to Set and Save my Default Head Position for EACH PILOT SEAT so that when I jump into a cockpit (pilot or copilot seats) my head/seat position and FOV is set so that my Face isn't Smashed against the bloody dash. I get in, I setup and save the views (RAlt+Num0) a MILLION TIMES now. Every single time I get into a new cockpit, I must reset the GD thing again. It is getting really old and and takes the fun out of even bothering with this (one of my favorites) aircraft. Please Resolve this Issue. PS> I have dumped my View Folders etc umpteen times. So many times that I couldn't count. I stopped doing that a while back because it is a useless attempt at fixing this issue. I still end up customizing the views every single time.

Can't Zoom View In/Out & Collective Not Working
SnowTiger replied to SnowTiger's topic in Bugs and Problems
Is ANYONE Else having this issue ? I haven't been able (or willing) to waste my time with the Huey for a LONG TIME now. I have tried EVERYTHING I can even imagine and cannot resolve this frustrating issue. My Zoom In/Out Function is COMPLETELY INERT in this aircraft. And Believe Me when I tell you that I have selected Every Single Zoom command there is. -
Snore. Another chopper that'll get beaten up in DCS because everything else can shoot farther.

Unable to use Joystick to Control Camera
SnowTiger replied to SnowTiger's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes I am in Open Beta. Thanks for that tip. I never even thought to look there. It sucks doing something one way for so long only to have to make changes and/or relearn things just to be able to do what we were able to do previously. But at least this is fixable. Thanks again. -
Unable to use Joystick to Control Camera
SnowTiger replied to SnowTiger's topic in Bugs and Problems
PS> PLEASE Bring back the ability to SAVE DEFAULT VIEWS (head position) for BOTH SEATS in Each Model of the Gazelle. I am truly getting sick and tired of having to set up my default head position every single time I jump into the bloody cockpit. There is no reason or excuse for it to have been broken. -
Up until recently, while in the Copilot/Gunner's seat, I have been able to use my Joystick to Fine Tune Targeting. Of course I can still use my Slew Hat for aiming but that doesn't have any fine tuning to it and makes it basically impossible to Steer the Missile while in flight, with any hope of control. Why was this feature removed ? Will it be coming back ? Is it a BUG or a Poor Decision ? I have no idea how it works in Multiplayer but I'm rarely online so I most often fly alone/offline. So the ability to use the Stick for fine tune aiming is essential. Now there is a Conflict in the Axis Control Settings. The stick can only be used for the Camera OR Cyclic but Not Both. And it certainly isn't like a Pilot would need to have both functions. Only the Gunner. Please Fix or Restore this Ability. ASAP

Prefered Cobra Bell AH-1W SuperCobra OR Bell AH-1Z Viper (preferably) I want Day/Night capabilities and something with some Punch. It has to be able to survive the DCS Battle-Scape.

Cannot use torrents downloading anymore?
SnowTiger replied to Sonoda Umi's topic in Installation Problems
There are many times when I have found it too painfully slow to bother with during the day. Generally, I'll wait until late at night and then let it run throughout the night whilst I get my beauty sleep ! With any luck it's finished by the time I get up. But I have seen many updates (including recently) when it took 8+ Hours to download the update via Torrent. -
Does trim work as it is supposed to?
SnowTiger replied to SnapRoll's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
It took me a while to figure out the Trim in the Ka-50. Especially when using it in conjunction with the Rudder. Before you can change the trim behavior for the rudder, you much neutralize the pedals the same as with the stick in order to prevent Adding more trim from the current position (which thinks it centered or neutralized). I found this difficult because I always had my feet on the pedals and held them as necessary throughout a turn. If I didn't take my feet off the pedals before trying to reset or adjust the trim, I usually ended up crashing. For me it was easiest to simply Disable the Rudder Trim in the BlackShark DCS Options. That way I can steer wherever I want when I want regardless how my Stick/Cyclic was Trimmed.
