  1. The Spit is a bit of a chore to get it trimmed out for good straight and level flight.
  2. Awesome product I love it, use mine most every day with DCS. Be aware they are very popular and currently wait time is around 1 year. You can get on wait list and hopefully that will improve throughout the year. No request to pay until it is ready to ship and no problem cancelling if needed. Also I can only speak to using it in VR.
  3. In respect to the comments on the Aero he made earlier, I find the sweet spot to be much larger than he did - I would say 95% of my lenses have excellent clarity. I would certainly be curious to try Quest Pro just to see how it compares to my Aero especially reading all his other comments- but no way am I spending that much on a Meta product. Plus with the Aero I have the beauty now of using Dynamic Foveated Rendering with Eye Tracking and it works fantastic.
  4. I have settle in to flying with Varjo Base Vsync locked to 45 fps. Seems to give me the smoothest overall experience. Note I am not using any Motion Smoothing. Without vsync I was hitting 90 fps quite often but would experience more stuttering when it would not. The DFR with eye tracking was certainly a major peformance improvement even above the improvement we got with Multi Threading. I do get hiccups on occasion which creates a large stutter, then it is back to smooth 45 fps again. Thankfully the hiccups are few and far between so I can live with them. Perhaps as DCS continues to improve the MT that will help settle that down a little. I have had Rift , Rift S, Index, Reverb G2, Vive Pro 2, and now Aero. IMHO my Aero spanks them all easily, but yeah like you said it is costly. Thankfully I had the trackers that came with my Index I was able to use. Everyone's experience is different and I really hesitate trying to convince someone it is worth parting with 2K+ dollars. Have a look at the Varjo Discord if you are on there and read up some users experiences might help.
  5. Yes I grabbed the hotfix firmware. But nope did not really have a cursor problem that I was aware of.
  6. Leave Open VR enabled in Varjo Base also ( in addition to Open XR). DCS MT Shortcut should have --force_OpenXR at the end , this is how mine is: "D:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin-mt\DCS.exe" --force_OpenXR Obviously mine is installed on my D drive, substitute whatever drive letter your Open Beta is on. Make sure VR is checked in graphics options. (No need for --force-VR in shortcut if you have VR checked in graphics options.
  7. I would consider Reverb G2, or Vive Pro 2, to be a signicant improvement over the Rift S. I ran both of them after my Rift S previously prior to the Aero now, and found them to be nice upgrades.
  8. Not at all, just have to be willing to wait app 1 year - and you do not pay until it is ready to ship. Miles is trying to work some things out to improve the lead time. I waited right at 1 year myself and am so glad I did, looking back it seems it flew by and now I am enjoying my Point-CTRL every day with DCS. I could not imagine flying without it now.
  9. Yeah I found it concerning as well, ridiculous that they moved it to where it is here now. All the work they have done to help improve VR and now treating at least the VR forum like a red headed step child. DCS is a shining star for VR and I hope it stays that way. Without VR my DCS days would be over. ED jumped on the VR train relatively early and I was so glad to see them do it, just hope their commitment to it remains unchanged. I can tell already the daily activity on the VR forum has dropped off since moving it here.
  10. Yeah you will definitely want something better. I myself use earbuds, I have a Creative Sound Dac I plug my earbuds into for gaming. And I just use a desktop USB mic. Hopefully some others that have tried headset with mic can get you some feedback as well.
  11. Agreed I so love my Point CTRL setup.
  12. I think spending that kind of money on a VR headset along with subscription fees to get a feature that one can might use like that - is a bit on the much side for most folks in here. Now if the tech trickled down to the Aero and was not too pricey I might be tempted to look at that - maybe. But appears Varjo already said NO.
  13. Fully agree!
  14. Yeah this is pretty ridiculous.
  15. And instead of trying to make it better, they go and make it even worse...
  16. Looks like they have a Hotfix planned for today.
  17. Yeah I at least do not see me upgrading my headset for some time yet. Been running the Aero well over a year and still loving it. Then when DCS add Multi Threading , Open XR support that was a game changer for sure for the better. And then Dynamic Foveated Rendering with eye tracking came along just for the Aero and really made it shine. However it is a lot of money for a VR headset, especially if one also has to get the trackers, so I always like to mention that. Whether it is worth the cost would be very much up to the individual.
  18. If you are really interested in VR, suggest you start out with a VR headset first and see how you like it.You may find your desire for panels to diminish.
  19. I have not seen any change in VR Performance on my end, stayed the same.
  20. Strange I fly in VR as well and find the performance to be good, same as it was before the new map.
  21. OMG it is gorgeous gang. And I was really pleased to see perfomance in VR with my Aero stayed pretty much the same. Incredible job Ugra and ED!!
  22. One thing I have found with Kneeboard Builder , when in VR in the cockpit with the Kneeboard up, I can manipulate the size of the kneeboard with the mouse (Point CTRL in this case) to make it more legible by being a little larger. It is not persistant between missions, but does at least keep that custom size all during the mission even toggling the kneeboard on and off. That certainly helps in my case. I did also check some of my older kneeboards I had done in Kneeboard Builder for the Hornet and they all still appear fine and readable. So only going to be a small amount I will need to modify a little to get them more legible, some of the most recent ones I did using Chuck's Guides. Open Kneeboard has been uninstalled, thank goodness.
  23. Ok so I am throwin in the towel on this Open Kneeboard. I guess my simple mind just can not get a handle on it - way to convoluted for me. I am tired of starting a mission with that kneeboard not working for me. Seems some of the buttons I assign works some of the time, some times they do not. Also my custom size of the kneeboard seems to change on a whim. Too much grief to be worth my while, I prefer to fly. So going back to Kneeboard Builder, will try just exporting some of my saved kneeboards to word , edit the text to be more legible and import it back in. Should not be too bad I hope.
  24. Awesomeness! Great FAQ. Sounds like we are getting really, really close. Can't wait to refly Reflected's Spit campaigns.
  25. Ok thanks, I will see what I can do. Maybe open it in Word and edit the text size and save back to PDF. I probably can get used to using Open Kneeboard if I stick with it a while but I sure like the simplicity of Kneeboard Builder. Plus I have a bunch of kneeboards already created with it.
