  2. how far do you anticipate the map will extend east/Northeast? IFAIK the Argentine carrier battle group was quite far north early May - will you extend our water up that far?   5. yeah SRS (Simple Radio) is pretty cool but to be honest, very few actually utilize it properly. I would love to see SRS incorporated as a base feature of DCS and get everyone onto a single platform.
  6. yeah everything is on platter right now - only DCS is on my SSD... that said, it sounds like I can just leave everything as is then? should i manually set the min/max onC:// down to only a couple GB? whats the benefit of that if I can ask?
  7. Look into MIST and MOOSE. These base functionalities have been working and are stable in both. #3 might benefit from the CSAR script - you can use the search function to find all of these. MIST and CSAR are probably the easiest out of the box but MOOSE has more meat on the bone when you are ready.
  8. I have DCS installed on an SSD Drive F. Currently my System manages my pagefile on Drive C (my windows install) to a max of 32 GB to reflect my physical RAM. I noted today that Drive F has no Paging File Size (MB) allocated when i review my Virtual Memory in the System Properties. Question - Should I select the option to have the system Automatically manage paging file size for all drives? would this help some of my MP loading woes? Cheers!
  9. i literally just copied it over when i moved my old install to a SSD. IFAIK there were no problems doing that. No harm in attempting a copy first. If it doesnt work you should be able to delete the file structure on F and still have your original build on D. I did this quite a while ago though so fair warning... things may have changed.

  12. thanks guys - sorry i would have checked the manual but had assumed it was still an alpha WIP. glad to hear it has progressed to the point of potentially meaningful interdiction.

I am wondering if someone can explain how supply/warehousing works in 2.5 As I have never bothered to work with the system in previous versions, i am quite interested to see if there have been any announcements or features I should be paying attention to. I recognize that you can set asset supplies at each base but my questions are as follows: 1 - Is supply tied to any visual map object? There are warehouses and fuel stores on the map at each airbase - how does the destruction of these assets affect local supply? i.e. can I impact the F-15 120C supply at Kutaisi by striking individual buildings with a bK90 for example 2 - Are there time tables or a frequency by which resupply is scheduled? I see you can set "supplied by" in the ME - does this mean a behind lines interdiction/ground attack on these sites can slow availability of weapons/fuel if set properly in the ME? 3 - Has ED made any new announcements on the future of interdictable supply? heck I'm not even sure if knocking out a tower takes out ATC or hitting a VOR/NDB can impact navigation yet.

  15. I still want a water map with fantasy atoll chain hosting 1-3 airfields. no towns no real infrastructure other than the base assets. The rest of the small atoll islands serving only as visual navaids. Thus - two carrier groups + 1-3 atoll airfields could make for a fun area control game.

  18. man - i wish VR was infinitely easier to "Try before you buy" with DCS. Ive read many similar threads where folks just can't wrap their head around maxing out on 2D or compromising for 3D. I'm one of them. If only OCULUS could create some sort of loaner program for me to see how the DCS experience really was then it would help me make a decision. Sure, I have tried the Vive in shopping malls and at comic cons but the games were always lame shooters or weird positional warping things that turned me off and never cam eclose to helping me understand what the compromise really looks like for a flight sim. My biggest struggle (and one i think is shared with many) is what the compromise:benifit ratio really looks like. I think the only way to answer is to actually experience it in the game you are interested in.

  20. in reading about the Moving Map system for the harrier , I noted in the pdf that there is a capability to upload checklists and embed recon photos in the actual unit. Are there any plans to add this functionality to our DCS product?

    2.5 trees

    on dynamic caucuses last night my laser guided GBU12 hit a tree in front of a T-55 and did not kill the T-55.... i had to change my approach to come from NW in order to hit the tank again from the other side unobstructed. I didnt think much of it... maybe there is an issue though? I think it might be a good idea to test more? Should be easy to do I'd think?
  24. i have noticed some LOD errors with the current bunkers... they will disappear depending on approach. you have to approach from W-SW to maintain object LOD on your dive. Even then, the direct bomb hits do not even cause smoke.... Maybe eekz should test a different static object or a fortification object instead? *edit* it would appear from page 164 of this thread that folks are already aware of the disappearing statics bug...
