I really am still not sure about it. I was about to pull the trigger during the Oculus sale this summer until i actually tried the HTC Vive at comiccon... Unfortunately - for me - it was a HUGE let down. I just could not get past the poor resolution. While I agree many would be able to get beyond resolution in favor of the immersion, I am now finding that I am VERY much recommending folks go try a VIve at a local BestBuy or VR arcade before they buy. I'm pretty sure there is some serious individualization where some will love the immersion and others will have immersion seriously negativley impacted with the poor resolution. I, for one, feel like i just saved about $800 canadian and I'm happy i did.

I think I'll have to try another demo again… i'd love to actually try DCS before I buy though. I recently tried an HTC vive at comic con and did not find the resolution anywhere near what I was hoping it would be. It was some sort of shooter demo using the hand controllers with space junk flying at me. The level of disappointment was pretty high :(

I am sure this will rank quite low on the list of probable enhancements, however, I would like to propose that flashing lights be added to fire, ambulance, and police AI ground units. I think it would be amazing from a civilian helicopter operations standpoint to seek out and support emergency situations. Particularly nighttime operations could be quite thrilling supporting high-speed chases, fire, paramedic and law enforcement. Those little lights sparkling and flashing could really bring some immersion !

Happened to me last night as i Demo'd Normandy to a friend. Good for a few chuckles indeed... I always did wonder... why does the plane elevate during repair anyway?

yeah it has been like this for a while - I presume/assume that they merely are not attributing resources toward the fix as the textures and map is soon to be updated. -

I agree with bit... OC that chip! I have it and it will happily clock over 4GHz on stock cooling. Mine has been running at 4.2 for 3 years no problem on my stock cooler master haf 922 and Asus mobo. I used the asus EZ software to auto tune the chip to 4.2... literally 1 click. -
I also like the idea of generic maps being made available... the idea of a land or naval map not necessarily rooted in geographic accuracy would actually really open up mission making possibilities for all eras quite a bit. Its really a silly thing that can't be ignored... creating missions in real world locales kind of breaks immersion in an odd way because it violates my innate sense of history. Generic naval maps with atolls or land maps would actually shed those shackles in a weird way.

^^ YUP me too... it was not an issue of "Not listening" Skate... it was merely a misdirected assumption some advice someone posted earlier was working. I removed the .cfg before I saw any warning unfortunately. Cheers,

Here you go... i did try the removal of autoupdate.cfg as posted earlier when the alpha was not updating... maybe this is what caused bin to delete on update? REVERT.rar

the update deleted my bin folder and repair made alpha revert to 1.56... do i have to delete my entire install and start over now?

Hey Delta... I have actually been thinking about rebuilding it with MOOSE. It was pretty fiddly with the stock ME and MIST back when I first crafted it and then i abandoned it after the thing kept breaking.... over and over and over again. Anyone is welcome to edit this but to be honest, I'll probably rebuild it from bottom up instead of trying to figure out why things may not be working anymore. I did like it though.

i wonder if it could be all the static bombers i places at the one base... try deleting them and save as a different file name ... then re-play and try... you could also try setting the weather to clear. maybe the overcast nature is causing a problem on this old mission. -
... i always set it to cont to get diamond on radar iff....are you saying i should not? btw.... i did not get the "a" in the instant action miz... :(
