  5. Tried it, with the bombs set to GND. Targetting was on the money. Just smoke, no fireworks. They must've made these ammo dumps right 'ard last patch

  7. Turns out it was a switch error with EAC. Thanks! The JDAM problem was i deed solv3d by holding the pickle button until the bomb dropped. So thanks again!
  8. Naw I was in a beautiful 15degree dive. No CCIP pipper ever showed up. I googled it a bit, and the only result that came up that made any sense talked about the altitude set for the current steerpoint. Thanks for the tip on the JDAMs. I bet it was that. I love how deep this simulation is, to give us all these intricate little wrinkles to learn about and cope with. A bit like how the AV-8B's gun won't fire if engine RPM is below 70%.
  9. Hear hear! This campaign and the way the missions are built really needs that, heh. In any game you'd hit 'quicksave' after each of the happenings in these loooong and beautifully scripted missions.
  10. Hey guys, I was trying to fly Operation Iranian Freedom mission 6. I have run into a couple problems with my Hog-ology. First off, what causes a JDAM launch to go awry and the bomb to get stuck in the 'aborted' state? I got these big red warnings and well, they were paperweights after that. Another, and even more annoying problem is this: At a certain point, I'm asked to perform CAS. I have expended all boomy zoomy stuff and want to switch to guns. However I get no pipper. Only a CCIP invalid warning. This might have something to do with the aiming computer taking the altitude from the current waypoint, which is set to I dunno, angels 12 or something. How do I tell the darn thing to look at the SPI, or even the radar altimeter for the altitude? I am guessing it's the same error that precluded me from using the cluster bombs I was hauling.. Help me Obi Wan KeForum, you're my only hope (after APKWS that is ) Cheers, schurem
  11. Some of the default loadouts are ... odd. I'm on mission 6 now and one is carrying asymetric and a very weird mix. As long as I keep at least one of the things on board that was already there, I should be good, yeah?

  14. Funny, from a Flaming Cliffs jet those rockets are superbly accurate..
  15. I take the current AI BFM bugs as a sign of progress. It don't break unless someone's tinkering with it Latest patch has them do strange things as well. I didnt make a track but the flanker in the mirage gunzo instant action went up, up, up to where I couldn't touch him. Smart. Too bad he never chose the right moment to come down and tear the wings off of me. He just kept going.
  16. Try flying it close to Vne.. (Fast! Faster!) It'll shake, rattle and roll. And then you'll die. But it'll be glorious.
  17. Of all the button boxes on offer, this one to me seems the most attractive. It's good for almost any module. I like that. I also like the gear handle. Does it register the unlocking motion as a button press? The MiG's have a gear handle latch, would be neat if that got operated as well. Speaking of MiG's, does the gear handle have a neutral position?

  19. Just flew the first ride in this. Yeah it's a good one. Interesting how the sim loads a new scenario on certain F10 menu choices. Love the voice work. Clear, realistic yet also fun. Great!
  20. For i side out tracking like the G2, having your room lit right matters a lot too.

  22. The one with the boats was hard as heck. Night is so dark, and the NVG's do not really help. I could not use the gun and only managed to kill any of them by loading some APKWS before takeoff and picking them off with the pod.
  23. I would never have been able to bring Mission 4 to a good end without APKWS rockets
  24. In this mission I really missed being able to F2 all the allied flights while plodding up the coast towards the target area.
