I wish they had those before every "hard" part, such as AAR and landing. Wasted 90 minutes flying Raven One only to crash in the end due to being unable to hookup to the S-3

Hypervipersniper for the win! Vipers are awesome. The view, the speed, it's all so good. The TPOD is rough as F compared to the one in the hog. You also get far less time to work it, so yeah. Perhaps it'll get better over time as the module matures. My preferred AG weapon in the viper is a stick of six retards. Just make like a viggen, but without the compressor stalls.

Perhaps it is internal testing terrain 2C, only 20km by 20km built to do render tests on the weather engine.

You are quite right of course, and even for fragile things like a viper or a hornet, it would be nice to see the jet break in myriad interesting ways. We might even find that while all gen4 jets are fragile, some are less so than others.. A better simulation of missile warheads should hopefully go hand in hand with this.

I hope the A-10 gets it first. That and the Su-25 need it most, as they get shot up most and are most likely to survive the hits in a meaningful way. Something like an F/A-18C will just cease functioning on any hit. And while it'd be interesting to have it do so in all kinds of interesting ways, the end result of any of those checklists will be CTRL-E anyway. So why bother?

Mind you, fly it really gently the first couple hours. VR sickness is a thing, and being along for the ride instead of driving enhances one's susceptibility to it..

I used to be a raging flight sim fanatic back in the late 80s, 90s. Then Microprose died and a certain viper sim was released in shambles, slowly rising to greatness. Somewhere around that time, I put away my joystick and trackIR. The game of simulated air combat seemed to have lost its luster to me. I kept an eye on things however, and owned every flight game or sim released in those dry, dry years between F4 and the rise of DCS. Then VR happened. I tried a dev kit. I was sold, fell in love head over heels. Quickly I have fallen deeper in the hobby than ever before. Built a simpit, with a virpil stick and mfg pedals. Now VR flying is about all I use my PC for.

Heck, y'all got 'em as forum top background pic, that's probably telling something as well.... (if nothing else, it tells me, ED are proud of the pretty thing they're creating)
