They most definately are. At least in certain planes. I had my MiG-15 pilot go woozy several times after a hurried start-up where I forgot to turn on the oxygen systems. They do take a while to come on. So for a minute or so, nothing will happen and then you better act quick before you black out.

My impression from recent(ish) communiques from ED is that it's in the queue, but too far off to put a firm date or any sort of feature previews out. It might be quite relevant that when wags did his episode of the fighter pilot podcast, that afternoon they recorded jell-o, the podcast host, doing LSO lines for DCS. So that's happening.

[A-4E Community Mod] - Guides And Tutorials Only
schurem replied to Saab-FAN's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Out of the motherlovin park hombre! Nice work! Thanks. -
Getting the FAC to lase things is finicky to say the least. Make sure he has Line Of Sight to the intended targets. If you want you can cheat a little and have JTAC be a predator drone set as invisible in the editor.

[PLANNED] Option for JHMS display for both eyes in VR
schurem replied to Silversmith's topic in Wish List
Might be an idea to make it both eyes for VR as a concession to current gen VR limitations. -
The symbology only being on one eye is a bit of an eyestrain to me. It may be realistic, but I will not be using it much for that reason.

If this is all they are frustrated about, their lives must be pretty freakin' awesome if you ask me ;-) I for one, really like my harrier and feel I have definately gotten my euro's worth out of trying to land it on the ship and such. Sure I'll enjoy bug fixes and new features, but to me it feels pretty much feature complete if not a little buggy.

I would like the F-4E, A-6E, F-111F, F-15E, Su-22, Su-24, MiG-23 and MiG-27. Oh and an A-7D. And throw in the F-16, Tornado and the F-104G while you're at it. Thanks. Still would like that Phantom tho.

It's not like you can just grab a can off a shelf and out come a squad of talented, subject-interested programmers and engineers. We're lucky to have as many as there are. And if there was a secret can full of aviation-minded talented software engineers, to pay for triple the engineers would triple the cost. Are you prepared to pay 400 bucks for your hornet? To me, its all good. I can wait. I have a lot of game to play already.

On the other hand, a high performance piston engine, boosted and turbocharged is quite a challenge. It isn't for company that multi-engined planes of that era kept an engineer in the cockpit to monitor all the oil pressures and finesse the engines.

Good PR salvaging of a bad situation, cheers NineLine!

Nope. DCS is very complex piece of software with a very long history. It wasn't designed and built in one go, but more or less grew like a tree would, or a city. Therefore old parts might languish unupdated, not quite fitting with the new parts. Some damage model weirdness is part of it, another is the odd lack of fuel in the S-3 tanker or the fact that some 3D models look positively ancient. Cheers.

Its called ignore. Not something you click but something you do :p Glad you are finding ways to enjoy the sim mate!

DCS last Update: Big problem !!!
schurem replied to FistofZen's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs
It's being worked on. The program is not reading your custom input files right. Don't panic! -
DCS last Update: Big problem !!!
schurem replied to FistofZen's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs
I was a bit early in declaring a fix. The important thing tho is that the game is reading the config files wrong. Your configs themselves are NOT broken! Do not delete or start redoing those! -
DCS last Update: Big problem !!!
schurem replied to FistofZen's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs
Ok rebinding all your controls not only does not fix it, its also a LOT of unnecessary work. A short bit of googling, and some sniffing around you'd have found these new "defaults" that get superimposed over your own, untouched, custom bindings. Get rid of those and no more problems. -
Randomly Messed up keybindings Hotas Warthog
schurem replied to rockme's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs
Apparently this version of DCS does not use the input .lua's from /users/ to override default settings. Very ugly bug but easily fixed I think. Here's hoping for a hotfix. Pro-tip: don't go despairing and F'ing up all of your painstakingly perfected input files guys! -
What should be fixed asap to make DCS a whole ?
schurem replied to BitMaster's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Better weather: layered clouds and different forms of weather such as altocumulus and thunderclouds. Improvements to AI. If told to fly NOE then be capable of doing so. Better and more exciting dogfighting AI.I do love that damaged AI tries to bug out tho. That's my wishlist. I'm quite happy with performance. -
Glorious MiG is glorious! Za Rodina!

PointCTRL - Finger Mounted VR Controller
schurem replied to MilesD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yeah that makes sense. I'd prefer USB powered to battery powered myself, just to lessen the hassle once operational. Really looking forward to getting my hands on this (or this on my hands?)- 3421 replies
