  1. I also had the intial problem with M7, and put in the version you offer for download. Wingman taxied and took off, heavies did not get in a tangle. Nice! Version control must be a female dog on a project as complex and multisourced as DCS. Cheers for your good natured patience @baltic dragon. :salute:
  2. I want it! Have you looked into using oculus tracking camera for tracking?
  3. I agree that the Mirage is darker and harder to read than any other module. But looking at that picture, it is also authentic. I wouldn't mind a cockpit livery mod that has more legible fonts for the button and knob labels tho. Very hard to make out wether the radio is in P, M or A mode. Let alone the IFF selector.
  4. The VAICOM installer is currently broken. The Radiothinger.lua is no longer in the /scripts/ folder but in /scripts/radiothingamibob/radiothinger.lua I had to do the manual .lua hackery install. Thing does seem to work fine. Is there a log file somewhere I can check to see if the thing is OK?
  5. Against the MiG-15 you are the boom n zoom energy fighter. So don't be afraid to do a brave sir robin after a pass and unload, run away and then climb to make another pass. At angels 30 the MiG is a wallowing pig. You are less so. Don't even think about saddling up. You can't follow if he decides to take his bucking seriously. Slash and extend. Repeat until done.
  6. Hell no, look at the comment thread to that mod. It's old, crusty and rusty and doesn't seem maintained at all. So go ahead and make a few bucks on this :D
  7. A picture tells more than a thousand words: "And that son, is how little hogs get made. These things just have no concept of shame." "Eh, what happens in France, stays in France, ammirite? don't ask, don't tell."
  8. I wear glasses but they are not very strong (slightly nearsighted, -1.5) and I just wear my rift without 'em. No problems at all. My GF who has strong glasses (like -7 or so) must wear glasses in the rift if she wants to see. Be sure to ask your optimetrist to measure your IPD (interpupillary distance) as having that set right makes a lot of difference to VR. Even if your glasses are so strong you can't use VR without 'em, get some custom made lenses for your oculus. Flying in VR is revolutionary, far beyond what trackIR brought to the game.
  9. Sorry to bust your bubble kid, but even if your position is akin to a schoolyard bully, a real warrior will respect his opponent. Be aware of his capabilities and take great care not to underestimate them. The IRIAF is not a little nerd you can just shove in a locker. He can and will punch back.
  10. I just flew the 2v2 BFM vs the MiG-15 brothers. Yes that was a challenging fight. Doing a technical boom & zoom (ie don't try to turn & burn with them) made pretty darn short work of them though. He can turn real good, but not at angels 30 and climbing. Strangely the 2nd of the two MiG's seemed to give up. He tried to extend or something, so I just ran him down and blasted his sorry posterior.
  11. My 4790k loves 2.5 but there's a little more ram and a 1070 backing it up. Tomcat will require 2.5
  12. meh. oh well.. So now I can stop reporting it in every build? :P
  13. Is it something that can be fixed in the livery files?
  14. version 2.5.3.21444 bug not fixed (yet)
  15. Shaders mod makes it look like it came from a domesticated bovines' posterior. Weird one to cure stutters somewhat: punch F11 a bunch of times at the start of the flight.
  16. I disagree with Norbot and would very much like a pilot bobbing around in his mae west after a wet feet kill.
  17. It's odd, in the harriers, I can zap pixels with single Zuni rockets all day long. Freaking deadly with those. Not so in the hornet...
  18. If you look down the sides of the nose you can see it too. All skijns, all theatres. It's a defect in the model used. You do not get this in the external view by the way.
  19.
  20. Also important to know that lasers in DCS have a very hard edge to their maximum range. (10km, about 5 miles IIRC somebody correct me on this if i'm wrong please) Altitude + distance (slant range) can easily exceed it in the perfect visibilty circumstances the sim often gives.
  21. Helo pack would also get you like 6 SP campaigns + 4 sets of training missions to git gud at. Defo best value atm.
  22. whooo boy I need to hang my head in shame. The fault was not with the mission but with my flying. Yesterday I tried it again and did a little closer reading and looking at the briefing materials. Turns out I had been doing it wrong. After the touch-and-go you need to do a circuit starting with a right-hand turn. Turns out I turned left, getting into the other airfields' pattern. Stupid $##%@ me lol. So I did a right hand circuit, flying over the village north of the airbase and everything went smooth and as planned. Of course I managed to break the script for M2 as well. Need to refly that one too. I recon flying these things needs a little more precision and attention to detail than I am used to :P
  23. Just downloaded your fix, am about to do some day/night testing in VR (oculus). OK; here's my findings. In Caucasus day and Nevada day it makes the buttons usable again. That is a good thing. At night it doesn't do much as the buttons do not light up and there's not enough contrast to easily see which one is on. I did not really like what you did to the windows. They are too clean now, making it seem almost like they aren't there. But that's just my opinion. I also completely and utterly forgot how to fly the Kamov. I wallowed around like a drunken bumblebee, unable to target or fire. Back to school I go!
  24. Launch speed, altitude and attitude matter a LOT. The same missile launched at 350kts at sea level is almost not BVR at all while it can blast a non-maneouvering supersonic target from across the solar system if launched at angels 40 and mach 2.
  25. it is \users\username\saved games\DCS\config\view\labels.lua if that file does not exist, copy the one from \DCS\config\view and make edits using notepad+ to your hearts content.
