  5. My clouds have always spinned with my head. I've never seen static ones before. I don't think they will bother fixing this as clouds should be replaced soon™.
  6. Quickie Question : Does MSAA and SSAA do anything in WMR/Reverb? I could not see any visual changes but did notice more GPU usage. Just curious, no biggie.
  7. Awww, a glimmer of hope dashed. Sadly, your routine calls the "os.time()" function. The "os" class is disabled by default, and for a very good security reasons. Malicious scripts could be used to delete local files and execute local/remote programs.
  8. Just to confim, I am using the mouse to click the cockpit UFC buttons. Are the UFC buttons operational in other modes, for example, does clicking TCN followed by A/A add the two dots next to A/A? Unofficial MODS may be causing a conflict if you have any installed.
  9. I checked HSEL from level flight and mine is still working. I can use the HDG switch left/right and enter HSEL heading in UFC. I did notice that if I push my nose down to about 25 degrees while doing about 450 knots and then engage BALT, my wings fall off.
  10. By default DCS disables os and io during startup. You can bypass this. I just checked the other classes and singletons exposed by DCS but could not find anything that would generate a "different" value that could be used to seed the RNG.
  11. I can see most of the guage by using the cockpit camera. Right Ctrl + Right Shift + Numpad 8/4/6/2 moves the cockpit camera.
  12. Nice one sir! I have been meaning to build something like this but every time I start, I get distracted by trying to resolve the comfort issue at the same time. Solution 1 – Mount VR headset on open-faced motorcycle helmet. Outcome: fair, helmet heavy, contact with skull/nose, minimal comfort gain. Solution 2 – Mount VR headset on open-faced motorcycle helmet with built in magnets, implant opposing magnets in skull. Outcome: fair, helmet spins generating unwanted electricity, spinning induced nausea. Solution 3 – Mount eyes inside VR headset. Outcome: unknown, awaiting optic nerve extension project completion.
  13. Good Morning Avantar. Firstly, thank you so much for a superb utility. Background : RSMapper is installed in a utility folder on a data drive and accessed via a shortcut from the Windows taskbar. Updates are normally an entire replacement of the folder contents. The first issue I had with 0.51 was a Chrome message during download. Zip files are not restricted so assume it was content. I downloaded again this morning and got the same message (see below). The second issue was the Windows blue "Windows Protected Your PC" message, however, the version I downloaded this morning did not generate the same message. The only differences I am aware of... I ran 0.51 from Downloads instead of Utility folder (to get screenshot). Several Windows 10 Enterprise security updates. Windows is currently waiting for the 2004 update. My OS won't update due to software incompatibilities which Microsoft are slowly addressing. Windows 10 Enterprise may be the culprit.
  14. Same. A certain space sim (ish) has a shaky VR future, and three less customers. Here's hope that ED keeps VR alive.
  15. Algorithm based RNGs need a unique seed to force them to change. Using the same seed will generate the same pattern of random numbers under the same computational circumstances. Edit: Calling math.randomseed(os.time()) before calling math.random() should force a different pattern (if implemented in DCS version)
  16. Windows 10 complains about the latest version. I know it is probably a false positive but I can't pull the trigger.
  17. I don't know if the Windows Performance tab is the best tool to use but I ran another test this morning with and without the shaders MOD (speed-of-heat's version). Most of my threads were about the same, but thread 0 (zero) is the one that DCS hammers. Without MOD = approx. 87% With MOD = approx. 90% I wonder if something has changed because this MOD used to give me better performance over raw DCS. I repeated this comparison twice, both times the MOD increased utilization by about 3%.   18. I have a feeling that exports took a major hit in one of the last updates. I ended up disabling all of mine; TacView, VAICOM Pro, Witchcraft.

    Not just VR. I run mostly in VR but use monitor for testing. I added shadows and did another test in monitor mode, see below. This may be due to my processor but I have never seen DCS spreading across threads. 0 - 100% (induces frame stutter) 1 - 4% 2 - 40% 3 - 6% 4 - 18% 5 - 5% 6 - 14% 7 - 5% 8 - 12% 9 - 3% 10 - 5% 11 - 42%

  21. +1 Also, and/or shadowless textures, e.g. darker foot wells, etc. when shadows turned off.
  22. Hand and head shadows would be great. I still instinctively try and block the sun with my head in VR. I assume head movement would need to be restricted due to being strapped in. Sadly shadows disabled, maybe one day!
  23. Thanks Eldur, I ended up disabling all exports in the end. I too have DCS PD 1.0 and SteamVR at 100% (2212x2164). 60Hz is not too bad in multi-player now, although still a bit of ghosting on busy servers. Textures: High Terrain Textures: Low Civ.
