  1. Thanks for the feedback! To set some context... We have great respect and admiration for the Aggressor squadrons and our research taught us that they seek out the very best Sierra Hotel pilots and focus on providing the best Opfor for training the Blue Air forces. So your role for this campaign is as a newly recruited experienced Sierra Hotel pilot who is already familiar with BFM techniques and is proving his mettle in front of his new squad mates. It didn't make sense to us that they would be presenting BFM training to an experienced pilot expected to be flying as an Aggressor. Now we did get the cart before the horse as logically there would be a BFM training campaign for newly minted nuggets who could aspire to be an Aggressor pilot once they complete their training and get some experience. However, we felt this design was more true to the Aggressor credo and we will look to future campaigns to provide a more detailed BFM and ACM training experience for the Hornet. Can you still learn some things about BFM with this campaign? Yes, certainly as each encounter can play out differently depending on your approach and you learn the strengths and weaknesses of the other aircraft and what techniques work and which don't. As to why the wealth of briefing information in the kneeboard - this was to support VR users and also to not break the immersion by having Non-VR users bring up the briefing screens while flying. We noticed that the kneeboard pages are also displaying on the in cockpit pilot bodies legs which is very cool (OpenBeta). We want our campaign missions to be enjoyable, challenging and with high re-playability so users can go back to them and retest or improve their skillset time and time again. If there is anything we can improve or change, please let us know and we will consider it. Thanks.
  2. We retested the mission and found the triggers were not working properly as you indicated. We have updated the triggers so they will record success when dropping below 6000'. We will submit the files so they should be available in the next patch release. Thanks for making us aware.
  3. Yes we will continue to support all our campaigns to ensure they are playable with game engine and module updates. Up to now we have deployed our updates as free patches. We hope to continue that trend but will have to see how the new Warthog 2 module release goes and if a new campaign is needed.
  4. Thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed it. We are still working on updating the voice overs and adjusting triggers to improve play as we retest. The sim has improved alot since we first released that campaign back in 2012. With all the planned new modules, game engine and graphics updates it keeps getting better and better!
  5. That's a FARP deployed somewhere on the MAP. The comms include all airfields that could be contacted and we had added a FARP (or two) for some Helo work in the background. As we update the campaign with the new voice overs we will review some of the earlier design decisions and may choose to clean them up if they don't have a direct impact on the mission.
  6. Not likely. Search youtube and you will find examples of our missions recorded by users.
  7. As BonzoDCS said, you need to be judicious with your weapons. Try and kill the targets with a single rocket (it takes practice but can be done). A quick 3 second burst from the gun will usually kill most targets as well (provided you are on target and not jerking the stick when you shoot). A slow trigger pull can help ensure you stay on target. Practice makes perfect but if you just want to kill everything quickly then you could change the loadout to something less realistic but then you are not passing the scenario as intended.
  8. Agreed. It sounds like the voice overs got queued up and then played all at once. Has it happened a second time? Have you tried a DCS Repair? Watch the road for any other inbound AAA that the JTAC might have missed before Chevy goes in for the pickup. We will retest the mission to see if something has changed in recent game updates. Thanks for letting us know.
  9. Good job! Try using the NVGs - you should be able to spot him easier.
  10. Very good! Thanks for letting us know.
  11. Please post a trk file of your mission attempt and we can investigate. It should play as per this video so if it's not then try a DCS Repair or uninstall and reinstall the campaign and try it again. Let us know how it goes. Thanks.
  12. Yes we plan to update all the models. Just busy with some other work right now but will do it as soon as we can.
  13. The parking trigger was updated to cover the whole airfield so it shouldn't matter which spot you pick to part in. Make sure you turn off the battery as that is the indication that everything is shutdown. Please post a trk or email us at mapleflagmissions@gmail.com and we can investigate further.
  14. Glad to hear it!
  15. That's it! You can also send targets to your wingmen and have them attack while you spot for other targets. Just be very specific with the attack instructions so they don't attack something outside the kill box (follow the procedures similar to the TAC18 mission).
  16. This mission is to teach you to identify the kill box boundaries and only engage targets within it. If you engage and destroy targets outside the kill box that will score against you (as you didn't follow the orders given).
  17. Yes many players use a label to help locate the bandits. Whatever works best for you.
  18. We tested various examples this afternoon and we did find the dogfights challenging but not impossible. Attached is a trk file of a couple of kills against the MiG-29. In our testing we were also able to get hard-deck kills (not as sweet as a guns kill but useful if they get behind you and still considered a win). Since most of the bandits have better thrust to weight ratios you can't tail chase. As you will see in the trk getting our nose in front of them and having them fly through the bullet stream was successful. This was using the latest OpenBeta version. https://drive.google.com/open?id=14zLVgkQzpYgpKj1xALJpszZH5QLMvTqP We did use the padlock capability F5 to help with SA as we do find keeping an eye on the bandit a graphical challenge (using TIR and in VR).
  19. We will retest to confirm as we thought ED's AI changes were to make them more realistic but they might not have all the changes completed yet.
  20. No problem. We will add that to the briefing text in a future update to make it clearer. Open the practice missions in the mission editor and use them to get experience before flying the campaign. If you have any problems please report them to the forums or our email address: mapleflagmissions@gmail.com and we will help you out. Thanks for purchasing our campaign.
  21. There are 2 options to get a win for the engagements: 1. Destroy the bandit using live ammunition in which you have to have the master arm set appropriately. 2. Through maneuvering have them break the hard-deck. This can be done by using spiral dive techniques or low level maneuvering provided you don't break the hard-deck.
  22. The mission files don't touch the ATC comms to my knowledge. Check your language settings as that reference is found in the Russia sound folders. If that doesn't work then I suggest a DCS Repair or uninstall and reinstall the campaign in case the mission file has become corrupted.
  23. Lol. Yes it's an abbreviation for Student. I can't recall where we found the reference. If I find it again I'll post a link.
  24. You could try a larger orbit to give yourself some more distance or you could pull a 180 and fly out to 5nm or larger to give yourself more time to line up the maverick shot. It really depends on where you are in the orbit when the target is located and if you decide to make another orbit or tip in from your current position. It doesn't help that the targets are heading towards the IP either instead of moving parallel to it. Over time you will gain experience on how much standoff room you need to get the weapons aligned.
