  1. I used to be able to get the Hornet trimmed for on speed relatively easily but lately I am having real problems doing so. I have to apply back pressure on the stick all the time while I try to get it trimmed out. If I release any pressure the aircraft just sinks rapidly. Is anyone else having any issues with this?
  2. Is anyone else finding the case 1 recovery so much easier with the Hornet after flying the Tomcat?
  3. Yep, I hate those "RTFM brigade" types. Nothing worse.
  4. I agree with you here. I'm a single player and don't have the time commitment to a multiplayer squadron etc. I don't want the simulation to be compromised by the pilot being able to do unrealistic things. That doesn't sit right with me. The key, like you say is to get Iceman to be more cerebral.
  5. +1
  6. Ah, nice one thanks very much.
  7. Can you tell us what force feedback stick you are using?
  8. I don't usually have the mirrors on when in VR to save fps erc. I tried them with the F-14 and my oh my they are just amazing! I can see my head moving and with all the stuff on my head it feels like and looks like the image I am seeing in terms of weight. The Oculus Rift just adds to the sensation of having a mask fit to your face and the weight of my headphones enhance all that. Just brilliant and thanks for making those details.
  9. A corner has been turned with this module in the combat flight simulation world. Brilliant!!
  10. I know what you mean. For me though actually being able to sit in the F-16 in VR and being so familiar with it after all these years with the other sim will be just superb. That bubble canopy over the Persian Gulf plinking tanks!! That's going to do it for me.
  11. +1 It's superb!
  12. Yep, I'm just getting to grips with case 1 recovery with the Tomcat. It's more involved but very satisfying. I'm enjoying using the dials instead of having it all laid out in the HUD. You can get a better sense of what the aircraft is actually doing in motion with the dials instead of a sterile readout on the HUD if that makes sense? The needles are moving and depending on how fast you know what's going on. Really good for us simmers. The best thing for me is the look of the aircraft with wings swept forward at relatively low speed. It just looks amazing. Loving this module!
  13. A question asked on another part of this forum which has more to do with binding an axis was this. "is the DLC thumbwheel an axis IRL? ATM it does not allow for permanently driving the LE controls to a certain state. It deploys an retracts the spoilers which results in a momentary effect. Maybe this is the real thing but I‘m not sure here. Anybody knows how this works IRL?" Can you former fighter pilots help make that clear?
  14. Yep, I am having the same thing with just the F-14. It sometimes just goes back to default settings. It will also continue using a modifier I have set for various controls when that switch that I use for modifier isn't on.
  15. Yep, I'm having issues with GBU-24 no problems with the GBU-16?
  16. Great stuff and many thanks for the added info from everyone else. Helped me a lot.
  17. What this guy said. Change IPD it's in the VR settings. I let mine set as default and it works great but it really is a setting you need to set with your own eyes etc. If you wear glasses you need to account for that too.
  18. I am far from loaded. I sold my old gfx card to fund half of the cost to get VR. I'm 46 and have been simming for the best part of 25 years. I'm not missing out on this VR stuff. No way. It is well worth it. It's almost profound without sounding to dramatic. A dream come true for me. I can sit in the cockpits and fly them now. It is just superb! Get it mate.
  19. Same
  20. I have no problem plinking tanks with the Lantirn from 25 thousand plus. It works bro it works!
  21. Yeah , don't change this they nailed it. It works perfectly.
  22. Heatblur simulated the fps with the hud That's what it was like back then so that's how we get it :) Early on people were asking will they make it the same etc. Listening to the wealth of knowledge on hear from real pilots they didn't rely to heavily on the hud for the same reason. It wasn't fast enough.
  23. Great point with the vertical velocity vector.
  24. This is one of the best flight simulations I have ever been lucky enough to experience. The mix of analogue and digital is exactly what I have been looking for many years. You actually have to fly this thing. No yanking the stick and putting it in full afterburner. Smooth and controlled wins the day. It's like flying a Spitfire with massive wings. The bombcat too is just a joy. Jumping into Jester to use the Lantirn and hitting a target with precision made me shout out loud! I love it! It looks amazing in VR.
