SUBS17 - Just a heads up and a friendly one. If you have lots of questions in regards to the real-life operations of the Hornet you should check out the Fighter Pilot Podcast. If you have already then listen to the older ones.
Almost all those questions you posted are answered in that podcast.
You can literally ask a real-life Hornet pilot (Top Gun Instructor) those questions and get an answer.
A massive wealth of high-quality information that I'm sure you will find fascinating.
All the best.
Just downloaded this mod and tried it out in a LANTIRN training mission that I have used for a while. It is superb!
Many thanks for taking the time to create this. I feel like I can really start learning in more detail now in VR.
Great stuff.
Hi,
I have a 250gb and a 500gb installed on my system.
The 250gb has the operating system installed (Win 10) and the 500gb is used to intall game data etc.
I want to swap these drives so that the os is on the 500gb.
Can anyone tell me the most painless way of doing this? I have no problem reinstalling win 10 and I'm comfortable to open up the box etc.
Just looking for the easiest way to do it.
Many thanks.
Great points. I posted the NATOPS thing because I don’t know any different and that’s kind of the only credible source I can use. I do understand it is just a simulation and I take your advice on board. If your way works that’s what I will do. Much appreciated.
Just in case you don't know there is a flight planning tool for DCS which is superb in itself but it also has a handy utility to set up the countermeasures on the Hornet.
You can find it here.

Absolute nonsense. All this based on "your" experience. One unit among thousands. Get a grip mate.
The IPD slider has a dramatic effect on many people. Just go to the Oculus forums and look at some of the threads there. Not everyone's eyes are the same width apart but I'm guessing yours are incredibly close together or dramatically far apart that you can see a predator at your 180 which answers many questions.
This.
Every interview I have heard or documentary I have seen, pilots always emphasise how at the forefront of thinking and planning, fuel is the priority. Especially with Hornet pilots because of the relatively low capacity of fuel on the jet.
One thing to consider is when you start lasing. You need to give the bombs a chance to gain kinetic energy before you lase. Last 10 seconds after letting the bomb drop from a good position and height will be good.
I had the same problem.
Do you use a modifier in your keybinds? I found that the modifier I was using remained "on" and all I had to do was press the modifier to take it out of it's intended mode.
I hope that makes sense. Trimming was driving me nuts because it felt random I couldn't pin it down.
It was a relief, to say the least when I found it was my modifier.
Hope this helps.
