  1. I have no problems at all with a Rift S and a 1070 card.
  2. Yep, same here. I use the same stuff to mount MFD's on a second monitor. Works a charm and easy to take off when needed.
  3. I completely get what the OP is saying. For me dropping GBU's with the LANTIRN in the back seat in a high threat environment is just the best. Then trying to land back on the carrier is such a good challenge. The challenge of flying it right in itself brings immense satisfaction to me.
  4. Yeah, looks like I’m gonna sell at a discount. No worries. Cheers!
  5. I recently upgraded to the Rift S and want to sell my older Rift. The sound failed on it after my warranty run out and I just ended up using wireless headphones which in the end worked out really well. I'm based in the UK. Does anybody know if I can get them repaired somewhere before selling them?
  6. If you haven’t done so already check out the Fighter Pilot Podcast. That has everything you just asked for in incredible detail. Hosted by former and current US Navy fighter pilots. Link is in my signature.
  7. As others have said OBS is the way to go. You’ve described the exact same problem I had while trying to record the screen in VR. Took me many hours of frustration and different programs to finally get to OBS.
  8. I agree. However MK-82's are great fun.
  9. Got this working today many thanks. One thing I did get stuck on and that was forgetting to change the resolution of the monitor in game. It was set at 1920x1280 which is my main monitor but with the extra monitor it's 3200x1280. After I changed it the exported mfd's popped up. Cheers!
  10. Now that's some flexibility. I recently heard them discuss these types of load-outs on the Fighter Pilot Podcast. This would be a typical load-out on operations in Afganistan. They go into some detail as to why and it makes perfect sense. Great pic.
  11. Some radars can see through clouds. I stand corrected. I was wrong.
  12. I have no idea why you have been triggered by my original statement and fact "RADAR can see through clouds because the wavelengths are much shorter than visible light" Have a great weekend gentlemen :)
  13. Define largest in the context of the numbers?
  14. That is true but we don't have a"Water TGP" given the context of what we are talking about.
  15. Nah you're wrong my statement is true.
  16. True story. RADAR can see through clouds because the wavelengths are much shorter than visible light. When we get the ground radar in the Hornet it will open up more tactical opportunities to employ weapons.
  17. That's the reason we have JDAMS. They use GPS to hit targets with great accuracy The TGP cannot see through clouds. See above. Laser guided bombs are great in good weather but laser being light cannot travel through a cloud.
  18. Used to be a subscriber. Just purchased the printed version of that. Looking forward to absorbing information the old fashioned way.
  19. Thanks mate. We must have posted at the same time. Cheers!
  20. Ah, I worked it out. I was having trouble getting a point track in low light conditions. Changed the time of day and got a good contrast and now can get a point track on a moving target no problem. I was going to delete this but can't see an option.
  21. Can anyone help me out? I want to hit a moving target using the Maverick. What is the procedure to get a point track using the TGP to do this? Many thanks.
  22. The Harpoon is slow and as such will get ripped apart by modern defensive systems. I love using it though. When we get the terminal pop up feature and other deployment methods, it will be even more interesting to use. If you're after a tactic to get it to nail a modern ship I would try swarming it from multiple directions. Let's be honest no one is ever going to take on a ship with a couple of old missiles on there own. Also, take into account when setting up the bearing. It's relative to the waypoint and not your direction.
  23. Almost exactly the same situation and experience as myself. My son (11 years old) has sat in the pilot's seat of the Tomcat with my old CV1 on a PC I built for him and I'm in the back. He can fly quite well now and we spend quality time together doing something we both enjoy. We're having great fun going through the carrier recovery with plenty of laughing at each other's efforts. You will have a great time.
  24. Yep, I do this every time. Only takes a few seconds. I use the rear headrest as a sort of reference. I really feel like I'm sitting in the cockpit seat when I do this.
