Looking at the pattern DCS set last year by updating cockpits of the 2 oldest modules in DCS, A-10C and KA-50, it will just be a matter of time. I could envision ED doing cockpit updates at a time when the release of other planes or maps are in long development cycle. With the proper timing ED would probably be able to generate a lot of extra unit sales for the updated modules from the hype and interest generated. But of course, that would only come with period accurate assets and maps. For now I used some of the GOOD Cockpit Updates available in the Downloads >> User files in the DCS Website. @pet333r, I don't know how you manage to add so many panels to the app, but Thanks - Much appreciated.

I have noticed a few times when starting DCS World with Tobii Tracker 5 that it would not detect properly. One Tip I picked up was to open up the Tobii gamehub DCS World Profile and quickly Disable and Enable it again.

Hi Snowblind and all, So far I am enjoying the Tobii 5C. I feel I will be tweaking the DCS World Tobii GameHub settings for many weeks to come. I had the TrackIR5 for years before I found good information on how to set proper curves. Since Eyetracking is new to me, I think I will need 100 hours of play to get used eye tracking movement in concert with head tracking movement. I also have FaceTracknoIR but will stick with GameHub until I get more comfortable with Tobii eye tracking. I did find that changing the plethora of settings was mandatory in getting crisp head tracking similar to TrackIR5. I DO NOT miss wearing a my goofy cap or headphones with a Track-Clip PRO.. the Freedom is appreciated and the fact the Tobii works great in all light conditions is a bonus. Anyone can search Internet to find many Tobii tips or reference for settings. The two most useful links for me thus far have been: Tobii Eye Tracker 5 Settings 180 Degrees DCS by azayomi How to use Eye Tracking features in ETS2 & ATS by Tobii

Thanks.. Looks like the hosted version on the link is still v0.20. Does the latest DCS Moving Map display another version number when installed correctly?

No Joy.. reply in Green.. I can turn this into a positive.. I will add it to the list of excuses I use when I am telling my wife I need to upgrade my computer.. lol..

Thanks for your reply.. No JOY..... my response is highlighted in green. I will keep trying here and there and maybe some day it will work.. LoL..... I must be something with my Local User ID used to run DCS vs my Administrator Privilage / Access rights.

I am hoping that in the next 2 or 3 months AMD figures out the root cause related to the USB Ports on 500 Series System Boards. There are many related stories on the USB issue on newer AMD Boards. One Example: https://www.pcseekers.tech/2021/02/amd-b550-x570-motherboard-usb-problem.html

Better Smoke V22 for DCS 2.9
YSIAD_RIP replied to Taz1004's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Maybe @Glow means the DCS "Simulated" Shockwave from the explosion? -
All the Before Pictures always looked fine to me, but the new After Pictures are MUCH appreciated!

Just tried the new version - is there any other troubleshooting tips? I get "No data from DCS and Sorry, no map available for this area." My Host IP address is 192.168.2.10

Maybe a Cessna O-2A Skymaster. https://blog.museumofflight.org/vietnam-war-pilots-and-the-planes-they-flew

I see some of you may have tried the MOD from Users Files Download called: M-2000C Engine & Cockpit Sounds Fix mod by Sedenion. It is better than defaults Here is the link to the thread on this forum as well: Maybe Razbam will "Adopt" this mod for a future release of the M-2000C and include the other missing switch clicking sounds. I would suspect that you would not be able hear most switch sounds with a helmet on and the planes engine running, but the extra sound feedback would be appreciated. RAZBAM - DOES MAKE EXTRA-NICE COCKPITS!!!!

Thumbs up for a way to Reduce time for Long Press. 1000 ms is too long... even 700 ms will do. I tried Sequences - but that feature delays when the press will happen it does not work if you want to use a button for two keybinds via a Long Press. For example: I use a thumb button on my throttle to Re-Center a TrackIR / Tobii eye tracker camera. I use that same button with a Long Press to Disable/Pause TrackiIR and Tobii. As it is now it works, but would be nice it the Long Press took "less-long". Cheers.

The 30th page of this thread as examples of a modified server.lua that changes cockpit views in dcs.. Reworked Cockpit Views I suggest you read some of the first pages of this older thread and see if this is useful for you. You can place the modified server.lua in your Saved Games\DCS\Config\View folder for DCS

Just like Ironhand said above... Also, for Flaming Cliffs 3 Planes you can't go wrong - Pick what you like - Russian vs NATO. If you like ground attack, stick with A10. For Russian planes the MiG29 has what appears to me as the nicest looking cockpit. Have you considered the following free full Fidelity Mods with clickable cockpits? A-4E-C Community MOD: there is even a Beta 2.0.0 beta 2 with EFM and greatly improved in development MB-339PAN: This MOD is no longer supported because it is being updated to an Official DCS Module that will be available in the DCS Store when completed. -BUT it is still a fun plane to learn how to fly in and has guns, rockets and bombs too.

I have been using Reshade.me for a few months now. My main goal was to improve FPS. A good Reshade thread on this Form is here: DCS World and Reshade by M0ltar You can also check out MUSTANGs Adjusted Shader MOD and compare his results to what you can get with MSAA if visual enhancements is what you are looking for.. FOR my install I just use Reshade for antialiasing: ALL of the DCS MSAA, SSAA and SSLR are turned off. I enabled SMAA in Reshade. With my current setup I got about 7-9 FPS improvement and better looking antialiasing compared to DCS MSAA 2x.

I finally got around to trying RS Mapper. Currently using it for my Tobii Head tracking Enable/Disable toggle using Long Press on the same button I use for Centering my view. Outstanding enhancement to DCS or any other game you want to create a profile for. Thanks!

The MB-339 Manual is named MB-339A User Manual.pdf and it should be in: \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\Aircraft\MB-339PAN\Docs Missions: Do a Search in User Files Downloads: I only saw this COIN one as an example: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3307113/?sphrase_id=2169373 I suppose you could take any other mission for the L39 or C-101 and add the MB-339 to the mission. Good Luck.

Thanks! Very nice product. I am enjoying my new "Freedom" away from the 7 year old TrackIR and the Hat Clip. LoL. So far so good. I like the Tobii GameHub and how all of those 29 settings that can be tweaked to suit my preference and comfort levels.

Even the beautiful (270 MB) B-17 has 8 files that are over 65537 KB: \DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\tech\WWII Units\Textures\B-17G.zip This is a great "Low Hanging Fruit" optimization solution that will get addressed sooner or later. Thanks Taz!

Great Topic and discussion. I hope that with the up and coming DCS 2.7 Eagle Dynamics will take the opportunity to optimize as many of the unnecessarily large textures as possible. This looks like an easy job for an intern or even a project for someone who needs a mental brake from doing their current job. I hope this thread gets more bumps in the coming weeks.. Cheers.
