OVGME - the right tool?
YSIAD_RIP replied to SparrowHawk003's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I just "Migrated" over to Open Mod Manager from OvGME. Here are the 3 reasons why I did: My Old System Board Died - During the re-config of DCS Controllers and MODS on the new System I decided to try some new things. It looks like the same Developer that created OvGME is responsible for OpenModMan. By sedenion... a.k.a Eric M. Development of OvGME stopped in Nov 2017 - OpenModMan is actively being supported and was last updated in July 2021 by sedenion. I have been using OvGME for years and was not planning to migrate until I had to upgrade. I also recommend looking into JoyPro if you fly more than 4 Modules in DCS. Cheers. -
JoyPro - a breakthrough for setting controls in DCS?
YSIAD_RIP replied to imacken's topic in DCS Modding
I just started using JoyPro 2 nights ago. All I can say is that this is yet another valuable contribution to the DCS Community by a talented Developer! I almost fell out of my chair when I realized the custom DCS Speed Brake Bindings I was adding via Quaggles Input Command Injector were able to getting picked up and applied with JoyPro. Once you watch a few tutorials and do a bit of experimenting you will quickly be creating or updating your own Relations Files and Profiles. -
I Recommend giving JoyPro a try as well! I just upgraded my 8 Year Old Mother Board and CPU... to AMD Ryzen 7 5800X. Net result was all my "Saved" Controller Bindings need to be recalled back for each plane and saved again... As a result I started the learning curve of watching all the YouTube Videos posted by Holdi601 and others. Just take it step by step don't be afraid to play with setups and get comfortable doing things like Refresh DCS ID DB and Refresh DCS Clean DB etc. If all goes sideways you can always go back to default DCS key binds setups .. .. there is a video for that too.. Cheers.

cannot reproduce Interieur gun sound is missing
YSIAD_RIP replied to aerodamisch's topic in Bugs and Problems
I just noticed the same Issue with P51. Interior Gun Sounds missing. Cockpit Sounds OK with all other modules. ... Also did Cleanup / repair.. I will wait for the next Big DCS update in October and take care to REMOVE ALL Mods + (rename DCS Saved Games) and do a Repair. It may be that one of the FREE Plane Mods (A4E, T45, MB-339, A-29B) is causing some strange conflict. -
I just downloaded Version 2.0.0-RC1 - 19 Sep 2021 and I really appreciate the ('Speedbrake Switch - OPEN else CLOSE') Keybinding for my X56 Slider Switch. Very nice update.. Incredible evolution of this fine Module.. Cheers.

I was surprised and did not expect to see so many updates for the C-101 in DCS 2.7.6.12852 Open Beta - 17.09.2021 Your dedication and effort on this module will make sure I literally $ pay $ attention to your future modules like the Mirage F1.
-
The MB-339 will soon be in it's rightful home in DCS.

Shinny.. I like Shinny..

Would a temporary solution be a Vietnam Community Mod of Caucasus with Jungle/Trees and Buildings that are a little more appropriate?

Need help adjusting cockpit view limits
YSIAD_RIP replied to BavarianPilot's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
There are probably many solutions to your problem. One suggestion is exploring this Thread and possibly trying the Reworked Cockpit View Server.lua that would be placed in your Saved Games\Config\View Folder.. It would be worth while reading thru the thread and better understanding what and how the Mod is is doing what it does. Cheers. -
Sometimes when switching between planes or restarting DCS my Tobii 5 also stops working. I will assume that when you renamed DCS World Folder you are still pointing Tobii Game Hub Settings for DCS world to the correct bin folder location. Try this workaround: Alt Tab to the DCS World - Settings - Tobii Game Hub window Disable then Enable the DCS World Settings by clicking the On / Off slider twice I think I read this once somewhere in the Tobii FAQ or Forums. Cheers.

VIVID NORMANDY 2.0 by Barthek
YSIAD_RIP replied to Barthek's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
@REDEYE_CVW-66 % agree! I have added to the NORMANDY "Wish List" -
The most recent update to Normandy was well received: DCS 2.7.4.9632 Open Beta - 21.07.2021 Would Ugra Media Consider adding the GTM: Normandy Texture enhancements by Barthek in the next update to the map? Suggestion 1: - Fall Season with trees would be nice Suggestion 2: - Winter Textures similar to Normandy Winter Textures by Revi possible to add in future as well?
-
PRE-ORDERED. I was only able to resist purchase for 24 hours.. The Canadian Version of the Mosquito was built 20 km from my home. How could I resist! Mosquito Aircraft Production at Downsview

VIVID NORMANDY 2.0 by Barthek
YSIAD_RIP replied to Barthek's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
Even after the appreciated Normandy Map updates in DCS 2.7.4.9632 Open Beta - 21.07.2021 I appreciate the Barthek mod more. On a positive Note Urga Media could quickly adopt Bartheks GTM: Normandy and have much less work in creating a Normandy FALL map! DCS Default DCS Normandy - Like Early Summer - fresh new greener grass GMT Normandy - Like Late Fall - Everything is a little darker -
Keep the updates coming. This is going to be a beautiful fun to fly plane!
-
Probably going to buy the Mosquito too! The Warbirds are really becoming something special in DCS.. Thanks ED!
-
@Bummer and @speed-of-heat Yep.. I see the texture/reflection now with both the default and lee1hy HD cockpits. Now I can't "un-see it" lol.. Glad that Bummers Cockpit v1.13 is clean.. Thanks again !

The Default F5E cockpit footwell looks normal to me. I guess you can try the usual DCS troubleshooting steps like Delete Pre-Compiled Shader, Reboot, Repair etc.. Have you ever tried any of the excellent updated F-5E Cockpits from User Files Downloads? F-5E3 HD Cockpit by lee1hy: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3314481/ F-5E TIGER II pit V1.13 by Bummer: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3306823/

@6S.Duke, while watching the last two update videos; I realized I had a big smile the entire time. Good luck with your next milestones.

I would be willing to Pay for a Second App that just covers Warbirds and Early Jets if that helps!

@CWW1964 When doing this spring mod I just used what I had available to me. You are only limited by your imagination or what parts you can find. Suggestions to your questions: What type of screws are you using to tie down your springs? Any bolt that fits in the whole - Length will depend on if you are mounding the stick to a desk or other flat surface I used M5 (5.5mm diameter) 8cm long. You can even use "sticky tack" or tape to make the bolts fit more snuggly into the four corners holes. What size springs did you use? Standard springs used for flexible lamp arm. I also found a good selection of springs at my local Home Depot/ Hardware store. I used springs that were 63mm long with a 10mm diameter. You can go a little shorter, the springs will just stretch. And how, exactly did you secure the zip tie to the automotive hose clamp? The Hose clamp was optional. I just wanted something that I could remove by just loosing the screw on the hose clamp. If you get thin zip ties (~3mm) you can feed it between the hose clamp bolt. I will try to attach a picture later. Picture Shows A stainless bolt I used and one of the options with a hose clamp and 3 zip ties - just because I could.. Good Luck!

Is DCS World Going to get FidelityFX Super Resolution by AMD
YSIAD_RIP replied to Gumbie's topic in DCS Core Wish List
The initial games that launched with FSR support were not exactly top rated AAA. If ED wanted a plethora of free marketing they would be wise to include FSR in the coming months and enjoy the hype and free press they would get. -- At this point it looks like introducing FSR would be less technically challenging than Vulkan? --
