  1. Don't know why, but I feel I've read that a few times already, hope they finally nailed it down. First line: Did I miss something? Thought seat switching in MP doesn't work at all throughout DCS... Great to see the FLIR stuff added so quickly! Best news probably is the AP thing. TOMCATS! Sounds like a PTSD mode has been added...
  2. After a few sorties at different daytime I have to denote something that's being an issue in general with DCS, but particularly peculiar with the AH-64. To make it simple: I can't see s*** outside! The windscreen and canopy glass panes are tinted so hard as if I was looking through shades, and in the Apache, this gets especially worse with the also tinted monocle glass and the IHADSS symbology. Even at high noon I feel like I actually NEED to turn on the PNVS or TADS in the HDU to be able to see where I'm flying and this just doesn't feel real. As noted in the subject's title, this is especially a problem in VR that I've been experiencing since the update that introduced the Channel Map in conjuction with the addition of massive haze fog. Switching to external views or simply looking outside with the canopy open literally has the issue "solved" mostly (well, except for the foggy haze), it really seems to come from the glass. I have repaired my install, did a complete reinstall, removed mods, went through 3 different headsets, tried gamma values from 1.0 to 2.8, and nothing could solve the problem and now in the 64 it really gives me pain in the plot. Is there any chance of having this addressed at some point, somehow? Or is it just me having to deal with suffering from eye problems? I'm experiencing similar issues with low hanging sun IRL a lot more than decades ago, but it isn't even remotely as bad as it became in DCS a few years ago. This really makes it hard for me... I want to enjoy this great module (as well as others) and the fantastic immersion of VR, but it's not easy at all when I feel to be totally blind...
  3. Bruh, recommending curves, especially since that breaks the trim on real sticks Exactly... though I'd like more throw MS SW FFB2 entered the chat. I also have to get used to the different thing that the 64 is, but I wouldn't say it's harder than the Huey. It's rather easier thanks to the IHADSS. Though I might have another hint: Try flying without. Once you get the hang of it, use it - but learn not to concentrate on it only.
  4. And then there's GS where even <200 canots seem like he's going supersonic without actually getting off the spot in a rate fight because he's maxed his FOV to over 9000
  5. We thought so about the JSOW as well. In the end, all it was but a nice toy instead of a good weapon (Well, the C is farily decent, but I can get similar results with the SLAM). Then we expected the Viper to get the B until they dropped that variant. I'm looking forward to the MPSM, but I doubt they'll be imba. In Jane's they were... one solid shot was a sure kill.
  6. What's the point in a Ka-52 when one person is enough to operate the thing? For me it's still the Black Shark, but mainly because I know how to use it. Still very far from being confident in the AH-64, and I haven't even fired a shot with it yet.
  7. Certainly does. But I'm using that chance now to ask the probably dumbest question on the planet. Is it At-Tanf or Al-Tanf? Regardless where I look, I find both, and apparently they're both the same.
  8. Anyone noticed that yet? Bascially all videos on the tube are taken from pancake and the head tracker symbol simply stays where it is just fine whereas in my own VR experience it's wildly shaking around and rubberbanding back to its original position constantly with ever so slight head movements (and you basically never stop your head moving completely). Was trying to take footage, but WMR doesn't like OBS at all and just keeps crashing up the whole thing (WMR -> SteamVR -> DCS) instantly, so I couldn't. Might try taking it with the CV1 though if needed. Guess a track is not needed, just have the IHADSS / HDU on and move your head while focussing on the head tracker symbol at 12 o'clock.
  9. I haven't been able to see or feel anything it does except for the bit you mentioned. FFB user here.
  10. Unreleated to the original question, but I guess it's on topic still, I wonder if it actually is implemented correctly yet or it's just me doing it wrong - I tried it on the first startup with the RB set (middle position, so not the lock one) and the things started spinning as if there was no RB applied at all. However, when switching it on with the thing up and running, it slightly reduced my rotor RPM. As for the original question, when using it, I'd probably release it before cranking the power levers (naturally to have less strain on the system), but that wouldn't be the zero to hero way. Not having checked the manual yet for details, I'd be interested to know as well. But I suspect the "right" way to do it would be doing the full startup and releasing the RB just before taking off.
  11. Old issue that trimming doesn't get the curves applied. Sadly this hasn't been fixed yet. We're basically stuck at linear axis input for the stick. If only there was a modern FFB stick / base that's not over a grand and actually works with DCS...
  12. NGL, I don't even see it like 95% of the time in VR... just the front one, but it hardly distracts me
  13. I tried and failed as well, but then I just thought: Why bother? SAIs in DCS are AFU after like 3 minutes of straight flight anyway. This has a history dating back down to 2008...
  14. Wondering the same... IIRC Casmo said in one video he'S got it mapped, so it seems to be useful for something at least. Only thing I actually noticed: Regardless of what I set it to, it basically returns to 0° and won't react to any input anyway as soon as the thing is flying, so what's the point?
  15. Just noticed the second setting is for pedals, I'll try the other settings, but I guess none of them actually disables it. The thing is with FFB it won't wait until you return to center, so basically any trimming while flying with boot applied will make the thing yaw back and forth violently.
  16. Steam is still 30% off until end of March while the e-Shop discount went down to 20%, still a great deal, if you ask me, expected the discount to drop completely.
  17. I'm missing the "Rudder Trimmer" special option. Having the actual pedals unsynced from the in-sim pedals totally hurts my muscle memory, and building that. I'm more or less resigned from trimming at all until we'll get this... I'd love to have FFB pedals at some point anyway, but until then I can live with the Mi-24 method, which is "trimming" via the Z and X keys if required (pressing both resets). Also considering getting the damper mod for my pedals.

    AH-64D VR

Certainly not. My rig's performance so far also seems to be less than it used to be (but still flyable), but I haven't tried other modules yet and this basically is in early access still and it's not uncommon that things still need to get fleshed out.
  19. Well, not really, it's halfway obstructed by the NVG sitting on the helmet for me. In the Hind, it's in the lower portion of the FOV.

    AH-64D VR

I was amazed by the monocle, there's even reflections happening on the thing the sight glass is attached to. Hats off, ED even thought of the details here! Also, it's nicely animated when you switch the IHADSS off, but the animation is missing when you switch it back on. Pretty sure that gets fixed soon though. First flight was great, but it ended in a crash - of what's probably one of the worst pieces of software that exists on the entire planet. If only the Reverb G2 wouldn't require that utterly unreliable WMR software, it would actually be a great headset. Switching to CV1, I presume... NGL, I probably have accumulated more hours in troubleshooting the G2 than actually using it for what it's made for. Oculus things just work.
  21. DCS Community: Mom, can we have patience? Mom: But we do have patiece at home! Patience at home:
  22. I'd also guess some AH-1 variant. That was originally planned by BST. Guess the W would be a decent candidate, but I wouldn't mind the Z either. I think even the F was rumored.
  23. This might actually be it. The whole discussion totally missed the point so far. BTW, to further fuel the fire with some oil, I observed on Wags' videos (Getting Airborne and Landing especially), that the ball immediately slips to the left as soon as he lifts off, while still in stationary hover. How come when the whole thing isn't even moving or just neglectably barely moving at all? I take it's not wind causing this, it happens regardless of the direction he's taken and it it was wind blowing over the airframe to cause this, it would also do it when it's still sitting on the ground as opposed to being in a stationary hover. I stand my point, I've got the feeling something's wrong here and noone has yet been able to explain it.
  24. For those wondering: Looks like an A6M5c. Has the 20mm in the wings as well as 13.2mm, of which another one is in the right cowling slot as well, the left looks empty (7.7mm removed). Probably AI only first. (not meant as discussion post, just throwing in what I know about the thing I see there)
