  1. I haven't been able to see or feel anything it does except for the bit you mentioned. FFB user here.
  2. Unreleated to the original question, but I guess it's on topic still, I wonder if it actually is implemented correctly yet or it's just me doing it wrong - I tried it on the first startup with the RB set (middle position, so not the lock one) and the things started spinning as if there was no RB applied at all. However, when switching it on with the thing up and running, it slightly reduced my rotor RPM. As for the original question, when using it, I'd probably release it before cranking the power levers (naturally to have less strain on the system), but that wouldn't be the zero to hero way. Not having checked the manual yet for details, I'd be interested to know as well. But I suspect the "right" way to do it would be doing the full startup and releasing the RB just before taking off.
  3. Old issue that trimming doesn't get the curves applied. Sadly this hasn't been fixed yet. We're basically stuck at linear axis input for the stick. If only there was a modern FFB stick / base that's not over a grand and actually works with DCS...
  4. NGL, I don't even see it like 95% of the time in VR... just the front one, but it hardly distracts me
  5. I tried and failed as well, but then I just thought: Why bother? SAIs in DCS are AFU after like 3 minutes of straight flight anyway. This has a history dating back down to 2008...
  6. Wondering the same... IIRC Casmo said in one video he'S got it mapped, so it seems to be useful for something at least. Only thing I actually noticed: Regardless of what I set it to, it basically returns to 0° and won't react to any input anyway as soon as the thing is flying, so what's the point?
  7. You mean a Fort Rucker map?
  8. Just noticed the second setting is for pedals, I'll try the other settings, but I guess none of them actually disables it. The thing is with FFB it won't wait until you return to center, so basically any trimming while flying with boot applied will make the thing yaw back and forth violently.
  9. Steam is still 30% off until end of March while the e-Shop discount went down to 20%, still a great deal, if you ask me, expected the discount to drop completely.
  10. I'm missing the "Rudder Trimmer" special option. Having the actual pedals unsynced from the in-sim pedals totally hurts my muscle memory, and building that. I'm more or less resigned from trimming at all until we'll get this... I'd love to have FFB pedals at some point anyway, but until then I can live with the Mi-24 method, which is "trimming" via the Z and X keys if required (pressing both resets). Also considering getting the damper mod for my pedals.

    AH-64D VR

Certainly not. My rig's performance so far also seems to be less than it used to be (but still flyable), but I haven't tried other modules yet and this basically is in early access still and it's not uncommon that things still need to get fleshed out.
  12. Well, not really, it's halfway obstructed by the NVG sitting on the helmet for me. In the Hind, it's in the lower portion of the FOV.

    AH-64D VR

I was amazed by the monocle, there's even reflections happening on the thing the sight glass is attached to. Hats off, ED even thought of the details here! Also, it's nicely animated when you switch the IHADSS off, but the animation is missing when you switch it back on. Pretty sure that gets fixed soon though. First flight was great, but it ended in a crash - of what's probably one of the worst pieces of software that exists on the entire planet. If only the Reverb G2 wouldn't require that utterly unreliable WMR software, it would actually be a great headset. Switching to CV1, I presume... NGL, I probably have accumulated more hours in troubleshooting the G2 than actually using it for what it's made for. Oculus things just work.
  14. DCS Community: Mom, can we have patience? Mom: But we do have patiece at home! Patience at home:
  15. I'd also guess some AH-1 variant. That was originally planned by BST. Guess the W would be a decent candidate, but I wouldn't mind the Z either. I think even the F was rumored.
  16. This might actually be it. The whole discussion totally missed the point so far. BTW, to further fuel the fire with some oil, I observed on Wags' videos (Getting Airborne and Landing especially), that the ball immediately slips to the left as soon as he lifts off, while still in stationary hover. How come when the whole thing isn't even moving or just neglectably barely moving at all? I take it's not wind causing this, it happens regardless of the direction he's taken and it it was wind blowing over the airframe to cause this, it would also do it when it's still sitting on the ground as opposed to being in a stationary hover. I stand my point, I've got the feeling something's wrong here and noone has yet been able to explain it.
  17. For those wondering: Looks like an A6M5c. Has the 20mm in the wings as well as 13.2mm, of which another one is in the right cowling slot as well, the left looks empty (7.7mm removed). Probably AI only first. (not meant as discussion post, just throwing in what I know about the thing I see there)
  18. I'd rather kneeboard.
  19. The one that probably will never come because I'm too useless to make it myself.
  20. The system looks decent. I have almost the same board, but the A version without WiFi (who needs that on a desktop? Cable FTW) and I went with an NH-D15 and a Seasonic PSU, but the stuff looks good anyway. As for the GPU. Get the 60ti. VRAM might be great for DCS, but not down in that range where the 60 non-ti is at. The ti has a lot more CUDA cores and is much closer to the 70 in terms of overall performance, and the 70 pretty much does like the 2080ti did. Also, I've seen someone with a 1070 running a G2 at 50%, getting a 3070 and being able to bump the HMD up to 100% as well as some graphics settings while going from aroun 35fps to 55 - and I recently did the same coming from a 1080 (on the 5800X) and can confirm the boost - that card is good enough, for me at least - I'm getting my 45fps almost everywhere, including servers with a good bunch of people doing stuff and a lot of scripts running. You wouldn't be much below that with the 60ti either, so VR would absolutely be possible, and most favourable in your case would probably be the Quest 2, but you might wanna wait until May when they probably will drop the Pro (Cambria) and the Plus (just my wild guess, being a Q2 with the new controllers) models. So you could either get one of those by then or grab a used Q2 for bargain. DCS allocates all the VRAM it gets and probably also uses it, but it seems it actually doesn't really need the 24 Gigs of a 3090 for VR.
  21. Regardless which day, the time it drops will be 42:69 Spoiler Alert!
  22. Could also be great for running CA, especially for buddy lasing with ground units.
  23. TL;DR: Run DCS w/o update check: "...\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS.exe" Run update w/o starting DCS afterwards: "...\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS_updater.exe" update And one I also have is for running DCS in pancake mode with VR normally enabled: "...\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS.exe" --force_disable_VR
  24. No problem. They will always run just fine at lower speeds and it will typically be determined by the slowest module installed.
