One of my favourite manuals, thanks Backy

2m USB Type B cable turned up today but unfortunately I had to remove the sheathing from around the mount to get it to fit, a big limitation of the Leobodnar board is the USB Type B connector. Fortunately the cable fits out the base of the throttle. I want to start splcing cables for the button matrix but am trying to wait until the new hat switches and Resistor parts turn up to see if they will fit first.

To disable apps from running in the background wasting system resources, use these steps: Open Settings. Click on Privacy. Click on Background apps. Under the "Choose which apps can run in the background" section, turn off the toggle switch for the apps you want to restrict. Disable Windows Store as funny as it sounds it fixes the problems

Also depends what you are trying to do, I discovered recently that different DCS elements have different key delays, I moved to a programmable POS keyboard for the Hornet and found that while its default keypress worked for some buttons like on the IFEI for other areas like the UFC it needed a longer keypress to register. so I had to move to a AutoHotkey script, but in notepad or even DCS config it registered fine. I would have thought 500 was long enough to catch most things though.

I'm not sure you need the 'F12' I think its just F12, but just to confirm is it your trackIR recentre? That might mess with it

I recently went from a 27" 1080p screen to a 32" 1440p screen as my primary. The move from 1080p to 1440p cost me about 10FPS in most scenarios, so I would say 1440p is well worth it. So to answer your question yes you will, especially with a jump in resolution. The screen size is not going to affect performance so go the largest you can afford. I have 24" screens at work and have been working at home on 27" and now the 32" during covid and I can say the 32" is fantastic and I will struggle to go back to work. 32" also starts to fill your peripheral vision nicely which helps greatly with the immersion. As a reference I went with a ViewSonic VX3276-2K 32inch although I would have got an AOC Q32V3/WS if I could have found one. The Viewsonic is great, its 4ms but I dont think you can pick that in DCS.

Just reading through this, I can see you are using 3x 50" But I couldnt see what the actual resolution you are running is? I moved from 1920x1080 to 2560x1440 recently and the change to the game is amazing, you have a lot more ability to spot targets. running 3x 1080p is actually not going to get you that extra pixel depth so it would be worth if you can jumping your screen res up on one screen as a test to see what difference that makes.

I have to say I found I spent my weekend taking this for flights around the maps and spotting all sorts of details I never noticed at 350knots while I practiced my transitions to and from hover and fine detail stuff like trying to 'taxi' to the runway for a departure or threading between smoke stacks. Its really starting to tempt me to just to buy the Huey as a next step while I wait for the Kiowa. ED should seriously consider it as an 'official' free module to get people started on Helicopters. most of my work is in documentation for DCS, but would be quite happy to dive into some code to try and assist if you are looking at progressing the module along. Things I would suggest for the dev list: Further Engine management. Refined damage model Pilot model Trim/autopilot features. obviously would be nice if ED would make you official and give you access to the SDK for comms. but this has been the most fun I've had with DCS for a long while. Some cockpit references that seem to reflect your model Though I have to say I like this version:

A little bit more progress. I probably could fit full size switches in a box this size but the weatherproofing really messes with the available space so I will save that for version 2 if I can get a proper shape 3d printed. I hooked the throttle up but Im currently only getting about 30 degrees travel which could almost accept but I'm getting a a spike at the end of the travel which I think is the servo arm twitching. so I am going to need to find a different solution. the internals were a bit of a hatchet job, I was running short of suitable parts so I used one screw as a pivot on the servo arm and another to stop the throttle arm moving out of cycle. I am waiting on a different variable resistor and throttle sleeve which have geared edges so I am hoping worst case I can use an RC car gear to swap these out and get a larger amount or travel so the resistor is a bit happier. The collective as is does an amazing job keeping the Littlebird stable with tiny movements able to be made to control collective. Theres enough friction to be able to take your hand off to work buttons on an external throttle or keyboard, I can really recommend the USB handbrake solution with a 40cm length of 22mm pipe on it as a collective, although I think even with button box functionality on the end it adds a great deal. i would suggest spending the extra for a handbrake with the mounting clamp attached unless you know what you want to put it on as Ive ended up with it screwed to a piece of timber clamped to the leg of an ikea foot stool. Im not happy with my 4 way toggle switches which are 7.3H in this link so Ive orders some 10H to see if that works a bit better for modifying the DPAD covers I have.

I saw the same thing the other night, I thought it was a one ff as I dont fly mustang much but I can say Ive seen this
-
Typically I get this when the server has crashed and the file didnt end gracefully.
-
Yeah its documented, but not in the key bindings and apparently not yet implemented. The wireframe is there, and you can fly into the hangar in a harrier/helo, or presumably in CTRL-F11 freeview mode. Same deal with the bridge.

I watched this the other day, neat little video showcasing a mod that doesnt get enough youtube love, I really enjoyed it. -
Hey thanks for showing me that this does actually work well if you know what you are doing!

I'm not an expert, but heres the code I'm using, example below is for RALT P: newTiming := 350 >!P:: Send {Blind}{ralt down}{p down} sleep, newTiming Send {Blind}{ralt up}{p up} return Not 100% sure of the syntax for ' have you tried if it works with a difference letter?

Realised I could add the throttle cover as it stands without needing to remove it

Thrustmaster A10 Stick vs F18
shu77 replied to ShaggyRS6's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yes I agree search is your friend here, however I dont see the need for the hornet stick, theres very little it offers over the warthog stick -
Yeah the original product was the A-10C. Then they offered the base separate to the sticks. doesn't surprise me that theres not a discount for that.
-
Neither are implemented yet. You can use free view if the carrier isnt moving to go see whats up/down there but the rest is WIP

3937 shipped today cant wait for it.
-
I think its a great idea but I'd rather get the extra positions such as flight deck and air boss added before we get that. heck even push back or hangar handling would help

lol dont start him on GR. Try Redkite, Matt Wagner, Spudknocker, etc, that said SU57 is a mod of FC3 you wont find a lot on it against the fuller fidelity aircraft. The A-4Ec or M339 will give you better mileage
