So initially I thought that the FCR elevation UP button was literally unclickable with the cursor on the collective, while elevation DOWN was. I was pretty baffled. But while making recordings, I found that I actually can click on the button, but it's just that the "click box" for the button isn't quite where the arrow is So yes I made a bit of a clickbait title lol, but hopefully it'll get some attention. The reason I discovered this is because when using the FCR I'd prefer to use it as HOCAS as possible, meaning I'm using the cursor to bump the radar elevation up and down. I'm in VR, so it's a hassle to grab my mouse, spin it around until I find the yellow cross, and then lean down and click the button. When I could instead just use the cursor on the collective. Anywhere, here's a video and track showing the issue Apache MPD Cursor Click Issue.trk

I mainly play in VR, and even if you get nice controllers for everything, and get crazy mapping controls, in the end when you switch to TEDAC but you keep your hands in the collective and cyclic using the very same buttons... experience and inmersion goes sub-prime. So, not willing to throw 1K€ in a custom TEDAC unit, I tryed to mimic it as close as possible with cheaper market solutions, having separate controllers for the TEDAC, and... this is my solution: In VR it actually adds a new layer of inmersion as you move your hands to the TEDAC unit away from your regular controls (I'm still working on a proper 3D printed mount to keep it in position above the cyclic) and this con troller has a really nice and precise analog sticks for the cursor and the manual-tracking. Good thing is that controller and bluetooth keyboard went as low as 52€ from aliexpress, and I got a perfect mapping for the actions I need in when controlling the TEDAC. To be able to use the triggers as buttons I'm using AntiMicroX (as Joystick Gremlin has problems with Bluetooth controllers). I'm mapping in the keyboard the LEV and GAIN knobs, which are really important, and George controlls, really easy and quick to use. I'm amazed how good it is in VR as you can grab and feel the unit. I'm leaving here my mapping (currently, still testing) that seems to do the job for me. UPDATE: I've updated the bindings

Hi, Im a 4 year VR Hornet flyer that swapped to Apache recently. Im looking for a squadron that can help me in the learning process. During hornet training I put in the reading and practice hours and I like a good amount of realism (tower, calls, flight procedures, etc). A squadron that has a good balance of realism and laughter/fun is the environment I thrive in. Hope there is a squadron looking for an aspiring Apache (co) pilot.

Been planing and building for a while now. I will release all the models I have made for free when I feel it's complete enough. (First .stl, later .dxf) Will also add a documentation of what switches and such are needed. The panels that follow DZUS standard are mostly complete, but not 100% accurate. They're build from images in the manual. End goal is to make acrylic panels, but the prototyp will be mostly 3d printed. Need more information and dimensions of the CMWS, KU, EUFD, armament panel, video panel and master arm/caution panel. Collective model is from Viper1970. I'm in the process of modding both the cyclic and collective to fit my Virpil peripherals, soon done with the collective, more info on that later. Power lever mechanism is from SDPG_GVL224! WIP

How's the performance of the Apache in vr? I remember reading it was worse than other aircraft and was wondering if that's the case still. If it's improved then I think I'll buy it in the sale but if the vr performance is still poor I won't bother

When you first spawn in, the parking brake is already on, and you can push in the toebrakes and the parking brake releases. Easy simple, correct. However to set the parking brake, it should work exactly the same as the P-51D or P-47D. Pull handle, depress brakes, release brakes, release handle. Handle sticks out, brakes are set. In DCS currently, the 64 won't follow that operation. I can pull the handle, but A) it doesn't pop back in when I release my mouse from clicking it; B) when I pull it, as soon as I start to depress the brakes it pops the handle back in. It's as if it thinks the parking brake is set just by merely pulling the handle out.

I'm all but certain that this has already been thought of and is on the radar, but I'll bring it up anyways: will we get the option to remove the FCR from the aircraft? I'm assuming it will be a check option like the F-14A/B's LAU-138 rails, so mission creators can remove the FCR from a particular aircraft/slot. In addition, some aircraft retain the de-rotation collar while others remove it entirely, so I would also request an additional option to add/remove that little part as well. D-NR/WO, no de-rotation collar: D-NR/WO, with de-rotation collar:

Hey, quick question, I have begun to upload some of the missions, training and squadron missions, onto the user files section of DCS. The first mission was an Air Policing Mission to intercept and shootdown a hijacked airliner. The mission went active in just an hour or some, maybe a little more. No problems. The second mission I uploaded was submitted about 30-36 hours ago and is still listed as pending. It is a little training mission in the AH64 where the player takes on three waves of suicide bomber trucks headed towards the base. Given the topic, and who knows, just want to see if my mission isn't being released because it violates some rule I'm not aware of or something? Anyway, some of the guys in my squadron are convinced that ED is going to ban that mission / remove it. ( because I put suicide bombers in the mission and the description.) I don't because after all, this is a combat simulator, and VBIED's have been sort of a thing for awhile around the world. Furthermore, anyone who owns the Nevada map and the MiG-21 can drop an atomic bomb on las Vegas or Area 51... So I mean, it's a game/ sim, and all that? Anyway, just want to make sure. If the mission it's being approved because the moderators are just overworked or something, cool, I get it. Anway, someone can let me know that'd be very helpful, thanks.

With Sinai map announced, would be awesome to get some Egyptian Apache liveries. I have a campaign in mind already so i want as much stuff already taken into account before the map releases.

One of the guys in my squadron has spend lots, and lots of time learning the AH64. He walks me through a cold start on the AH64 as it is at initial release.

I'd like to request that the commands for controlling the search light be available as axis commands. Additionally, it would be aweful handy if I could bind "search light on off toggle" I got my virpil Alpha, and while I understand it is, at least in theory possible to map my analog stick on my alpha to a button, i'd rather not, and as a new user of Virpil software, I'm not exactly enjoying the software side of the experience. using "basic" control mode in the VPC software, it isn't possible to bind the mini analog stick as a button. (I'm sure I'll get it, but it's taking lots of time.) Yes, I know this is user error, as I'm sure 43 people will point out. Don't care, I would like the searchlight as an axis binding. It just adds more options on where you can put it on a varity of sticks, including the alpha, the VKB gladiator (EVO now?) I also know that 43 people will tell me that binding the searchlight is pointless, and I'll never use it. Okay, I like using the searchlight on helo's for night operations, take off from ships in low light, and all sorts of stuff. I like using my searchlights, and it's my Apache. Now that we got all the future "user error" comments out of the way, thank you, and I hope ED will consider putting the search light controls on a binding and adding a toggle on/off

Often, the cannon will appear to move erroneously on its own, and in unnatural ways. This mostly happens when lasing beyond its range, but even so the behavior is odd. It can be observed doing similar behavior within range though as well, though not to such an extreme. Uploaded a video showing the behavior here:
