TBH I'm in doubt if this post it's in the right place 'cause i think this feature i'm asking for is both for mission editor and rotary wings as well (not only Apache). As a veteran of Jane's longbow 1 & 2 I think it's missing an important feature: terrain contour instrument. I am thinking about when in longbow map you drew a line between two points and below the map appeared the terrain profile with all cliffs, slopes and whatever, seen in a "horizontal" point of view. I think this could be a very useful feature for mission editing or when planning a mission for choppers. A pilot can figure out in a better way what's the best route, where to hide behind a cliff, or if there's a large plain with few or not at all places to hide. I know in F-10 map there's satellite view, altitude view etc. but i think this could give a faster and somehow better mission planning/editing. Below there's a pic (very low res sorry)of what i'm meaning (not intended to copyright infringments or advertising an abadonware game..)

I think it would be interesting to set a render of a 3d version for the HDU for non VR users. It would be realistic if it was set on the right. i would try to crop and Photoshop the already existing model from the VR version into a standard version, so people with track ir /opentrack and even controllers could enjoy it. PS: I remember a topic in the mid 2000s here at the DCS forum's about the same thing. it was a reply from a guy named bradmick that i saw a 3d render on the Apache model A. (i thought it was a cool 3d model back then) With the current tech that we have now a days, it could be done. (VR were not a thing in 2000's) Ps: i had the same Apache from Alpha Sim but was still learning eng from jp at the time so i didn't knew if the FSX model had the HDU or not. ( obviously it didn't, the guy did a render) I was browsing for this post like mad for ages.

Have been noticing a weird pattern with the apache? Been flying it lately and i decided to test something, as soon as i apply torque and take off the helo has a lot of right roll, it keeps turning to the right for whatever reason. I turned the control indicator on and decided to only apply torque without any HOTAS movement and the apache started turning to the right and doing very weird maneuvers, I'm very sure this isn't realistic and it wasn't like this before the new OB update, is it actually like real life? because i dont see apaches doing right turns this violently during take off. Would love an explanation

As I said before, Azerbaijan and Ukraine use the same pattern, I find my old files and redesigned it for Ukraine. Have a nice flight. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3325872/ - AH-64D Ukrainian Air Force

Hi everybody and forgive me for this silly question (as usual) As per title i have T16000 and a brand new Orion 2 throttle with F18 levers (very happy 'bout it). I have view direction (head and sight movement) bound to T16000 hat. This solution worked quite well on fast movers (i have Viper and A-10cII modules) but it's very difficult to accurately aim M139 AWS as pilot, since up-down and left-right movements are set as buttons, so it's not possible set curves or other things to aim more accurately. My idea is to bind head movement to the analog lever in front of the throttle but i was totally unable to do this. It seems that in "adjust controls" section view up, down, etc is possible to be mapped only for buttons not to sticks. Any idea on ow to solve this if possible? I searched the forum but wasn't able to find anything. Thanks in advance

Hi ED, Just thinking as most of the manuals are released early on in the development process it is only natural that things change and gets updated in the build process. Would it be possible to include revision status in all of the manuals for each aircraft as well as a line in the margin of the areas updated or added as is done in real aviation manuals. TIA Krazyj
