The only ones that I am aware of are the ones that we are doing for them at Duxford, this weekend, Legends in July and then the September show. Other shows is something that we are looking into for next year, however no confirmations at this point Pman

Dolphin887 Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Its a massive task and is always a point of nerves when something that you have worked on for so long is finally being unveiled to the public at large. ... This is what we have after 18 straight hours of protection work. You'll get it today. Good luck there. Power through superb knowledge, training and teamwork. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
howie87 Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Really wish I could make it to Duxford this weekend although it's probably a good job I can't. I'd wait until I was at the front of the MiG-21 queue, handcuff myself to the seat and get my sandwiches out. There would be a 40 man deep queue of angry looking chaps peering over my shoulder for the rest of the weekend!

SkateZilla Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 IIRC, FROM 1995-2002, Jane's Combat Simulations had huge Tents at the Fall NAS Oceana Airshow here, Where they Demo'd their Sims (2 years was Janes F-15, then Jane's F-18 the last few years). The tent had multiple standing stations with A HOTAS and Screen and about half a dozen sit down full motion simulators. The last 2 years they had F-18 and F15 in the Motion Simulators and USAF on the Standing Stations. Every Year they handed out Demo CD's (Mainly Jane's F-15 and USAF). I think I have like 5 Jane’s F-15 Demo CD’s in a Box. Jane’s also had an Aerobatic Aircraft in the Airshow. For a few years, the USAF Demo'd USAF : Air Dominance, which was a Private/Licensed Version of Thirdwire Productions Strike Fighters Series. So.... Flight Sim Studios have been bringing their stuff to airshows for a while... Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs

ED Team NineLine Posted May 22, 2014 ED Team Posted May 22, 2014 So.... Flight Sim Studios have been bringing their stuff to airshows for a while... I dont think ED does this though, I know that from time to time a number of Devs will attend Duxford, but ED doesnt usually have a display there do they? Its mostly been guys like VEAO doing it... would be nice to see ED show up at some of the major North American air shows though... Its mostly been guys like VEAO doing it... would be nice to see ED show up at some of the major North American air shows though... it was meant to be directed at the users that were thinking a showing at Duxford wasn't important. I just wanted to note that Flight Sims have been appearing at Airshows for a while, even though it's not "E3", The Last Guy I had talked to at Jane's Said they targeted Airshows instead of E3 due to the users that make up the crowd/spectators. RRG or T.F.C could prolly show off the P-51/FW-190 and Some DCS WWII at Duxford and get a lot of attention. (Especially considering this weekend's show is the D-Day Anniversary show) MS had a Tent for "FLIGHT" a few years back. ABACUS Software have brought demo's (Flight Deck III/IV/V). The Most recent "Flight Sim" Tent I've seen at a Airshow has been Lockheed (Prepar3d). Granted these were all studios attached to a big company (EA, MS, Lockheed, etc). So they can afford to travel all over the world to these events with their tents. Lockheed's tent is setup already at the Oceanfront here for the Memorial Day Beach Airshow. Pman Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Would be nice if you guys posted some pictures from the event for us unlucky souls that can't be there because of studies :) You can bet there will be a few floating around if last year is anything to go by ;) I dont think ED does this though, I know that from time to time a number of Devs will attend Duxford, but ED doesnt usually have a display there do they? Its mostly been guys like VEAO doing it... would be nice to see ED show up at some of the major North American air shows though... I wouldnt rule it out mate, Its something that we have considered doing and will look at more seriously in 2015, but as before no promises. Just an appendum ED DO support us in doing these events, both with where we are hosted as well as marketing materials and announcements :) it was meant to be directed at the users that were thinking a showing at Duxford wasn't important. As above really, not going to rule it out in the years going forwards. For us obviously the concern about moving some of our gear stateside is the big catch but nothing that cant be overcome. Pman
Alicatt Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Last summer at my neifew's airbase they had a block 30 F16 and beside it they were running Falcon/BMS in a cockpit, there was a bigger queue for the BMS than there was to go sit in the real f16! I took the easy option :joystick::pilotfly: Sons of Dogs, Come Eat Flesh Clan Cameron

Irregular programming Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 That is why it is NOT a necessary evil, as you have said above, those that would copy and not buy will still continue to do so. Indeed, DCS is the only game I buy with intrusive DRM. If any alternative came up I'd ditch it and never look back.

Alicatt Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Nice  (but shame on them because they have not bms running at home ;) )I don't know if it was 4.0 or BMS, it may even have been something else, I could not get close enough to see. I'm only a few km from KB airbase and directly under one of their departure routes, so f16, C130, and the occasional E3 are quite common. Today was double sonic boom day, somebody was in a hurry!
