Rincevent Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 (edited) Bis is latin. very rarely used in France. Absolutely not true. It is not used to designate plane models or so but has a common use in everyday conversations. French people use bis as a mean to say "the second one" or "the next one". The BIS button on phones is used to call the last dialed number. It is also part of an expression that comes from latin : bis repetita, which means you'll do the same thing all over again. Lilkiki Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 Well ... as a native french, I can affirm that French IS a latin language ;) French people use bis as a mean to say "the second one" or "the next one". Agree with that [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

t4trouble Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Will our MIG-15 have the warning tune when being tracked by the sabre radar sight ?
Farlander Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Will our MIG-15 have the warning tune when being tracked by the sabre radar sight ? I don't really know. but i do know that it was featured in quite alot of the MiG-15Bis production aircraft... Some were fitted with it and some were not. just like a small number of MiG-15Bis's were fitted with anti-skid and braking chute. I guess we will just have to wait and see, because there are so many modifications that were added to some of the planes, while the plane itself remained with the same MiG-15Bis name. if you want to see some of the stuff that might be featured (or might not be featured) you can check my thread/post about it. should give you a clearer picture. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2293858&postcount=1
foxbat155 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 MiG-15 never had any kind of RWR system. This is feature characteristic for next Mikoyan fighter - MiG-17. Starting from late series MiG-17 they fitted SPO-2 "Sirena" rear hemisphere only warning system. His antenna was mounted under white navigation light on vertical stabilizer. What is interesting this equipment was mounted only on MiG-17 and MiG-17F but never on interceptor variants like MiG-17P and PF/PFU. Regards.

It is true that the SPO-2 was not a thing that was mounted on alot of MiG-15Bis's. But there were a few of them that had it to see if it was a good idea to have them added to see if they were to good use. however it did not get included as a standard thing until the MiG-17. This is kind of like the Anti-skid, braking parachute, all weather modified MiG-15's. While only a few MiG-15Bis's were fitted out with these modifications, but they were still fully combat operational. I am not saying we will get this stuff, i'm saying that they existed.

ED Team PilotMi8 Posted January 20, 2015 ED Team Posted January 20, 2015 MiG-15bis description Now the ED website has a description of the MiG-15bis. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/products/mig15bis/
lmp Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 The description never mentions which guns we're getting (NS-23, NS-37 versus NR-23, N-37). Is it also something that's being discussed? :)

Farlander Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 that's cool, we are getting the OSP-48! nice work on the MiG, Belsimtek. looking forward to flying it.
lmp Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 The OSP-48 comprises of: ARK-5 automatic direction finder, MRP-48P marker beacon receiver and RV-2 radio altimeter, right? Nothing fancier than that?

Witchking Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Its cool to see the neat little enhancements to the DCS website / product page and info. Also interested to check out the new "reminder system" that tells you when you miss some switches. I SOOO NEED THAT. lol. I hope the other ED aircraft eventually get updated to that system...although the chances are slim. :p WHISPR | Intel I7 5930K | Nvidia GTX980 4GB GDDR5 | 16GB DDR4 | Intel 730 series 512GB SSD | Thrustmaster WARTHOG | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR4 pro | |A-10C|BS2 |CA|P-51 MUSTANG|UH-1H HUEY|MI-8 MTV2 |FC3|F5E|M2000C|AJS-37|FW190|BF 109K|Mig21|A-10:SSC,EWC|L-39|NEVADA|
