I'm sure we are all keen to get our hands on DCS 2 but it will be out when it is done.

I'm sure everyone at ED is just as keen to see it out as everyone else, maybe even more. They have been working on it for some time and I am sure they really want to finally see all their hard work get out there for people to use but at the same time they don't want everyone to be disappointed because something is half baked or worked badly.

I know its hard be we really have to be patient and nothing we say on the forums is going to make it happen any faster :)

Actually for Nevada it's only been approx 4.5 years.

I tend to agree with you :). Just when everyone seems to calm down and excepts it will be ready when it's ready, they then write something like this "We are nearing a point where DCS World 2 will be available for a public, alpha release." Now if that isn't a tease and then hearing nothing for six weeks after this, then I don't know what is :smilewink:

Exactly, at that point I could smell the stench from Las Vegas already :D Thought for sure it was gonna happen than..

The 7 year time frame is incorrect, DCS:A-10C went gold in 2011, after which the original 3rd party team working on NTTR dissolved, and ED took it over, at which point it was determined that a new rendering engine / image generator was needed to render NTTR at the detail they wanted, the original Art assets were archived and NTTR was started over from scratch for the new rendering engine.

So 2/3 through 2011 was about when everything was fully disclosed, so 4.5 yrs is a more accurate time.

Anyone who claims 6+ at this point has incorrect data.

Yeah thanks TopGunner.. I am sure your ban on DCS purchases will make the difference between DCS 2.0 being completed in the next 2 weeks and not..

I didn't realise the P.C mob was in town...

I was speaking from the fact of it's been a while since waiting since Flaming cliffs 2 was 2009 released and flaming cliffs prior.

5 years then.. if that's still not a long time.

I don't see why they put up an official announcement saying that DCS World 2 would be released in winter 2014 and released several NTTR showcase videos. They have been using DCS World 2 to make videos for new aircrafts since at least 8 months ago. I mean, nobody forced them to do so. I think they should stop using products that are unlikely to be released in the near future, or even to be released in the end in showcase videos of new products that will soon be released.

I think it's in a alpha release state now. The testers have been flying it for awhile ya theirs problems but in my opinion things would get squashed quicker with more feed back from more of a diverse system base. But ya I know the forums would be full of complaints because of bugs and or features.

Yes, very logical... ED didn't release new stuff, so I wont purchase the other new stuff...

Actually, the part that is most interesting, to me, is that a gaming group is able to control how it's members can spend their money.

It was an overwhelming majority that said the same thing. Like 95% of them sated that, they aren't interested in trainers anyway!

Sound more like an agreement than a ban, unless the other 5% had no choice in the matter.

DCS 2 is the future, it makes sense to make videos that will be around a while in 2.0.

I particularly enjoy the videos in the new engine. Really like how the old map looks bad a.. In it.
