silentconvo Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I'm sure we are all keen to get our hands on DCS 2 but it will be out when it is done. I'm sure everyone at ED is just as keen to see it out as everyone else, maybe even more. They have been working on it for some time and I am sure they really want to finally see all their hard work get out there for people to use but at the same time they don't want everyone to be disappointed because something is half baked or worked badly. I know its hard be we really have to be patient and nothing we say on the forums is going to make it happen any faster :)

People just need to do what I do (now) don't expect it or try to guess when it'll be released. As a matter of fact I keep telling myself it won't be released until September simply because I'll be prepping for a deployment and won't be able to fly for approx 8 to 9 months :D v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
Snoopy Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Good luck with your deployment. 9 month without DCS'ing! Will you not run mad? lol Thanks, luckily it's a location that has "decent" internet access so I'll be able to keep up with YouTube and twitch for videos as well as the 476th site. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
Call911 Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I tend to agree with you :). Just when everyone seems to calm down and excepts it will be ready when it's ready, they then write something like this "We are nearing a point where DCS World 2 will be available for a public, alpha release." Now if that isn't a tease and then hearing nothing for six weeks after this, then I don't know what is :smilewink: Exactly, at that point I could smell the stench from Las Vegas already :D Thought for sure it was gonna happen than..
112th_Rossi Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Don't forget L39. I'm guessing we'll get EDGE, L39 and Multiseat in one glorious update.

SkateZilla Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 (edited) The 7 year time frame is incorrect, DCS:A-10C went gold in 2011, after which the original 3rd party team working on NTTR dissolved, and ED took it over, at which point it was determined that a new rendering engine / image generator was needed to render NTTR at the detail they wanted, the original Art assets were archived and NTTR was started over from scratch for the new rendering engine. So 2/3 through 2011 was about when everything was fully disclosed, so 4.5 yrs is a more accurate time. Anyone who claims 6+ at this point has incorrect data. Snoopy Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 DCS World 2 Discussion my squadron just put a ban on purchases until we get 2.0. Kinda overkill IMO, and I thought we at the 476th was strict lol. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website

jermin Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I don't see why they put up an official announcement saying that DCS World 2 would be released in winter 2014 and released several NTTR showcase videos. They have been using DCS World 2 to make videos for new aircrafts since at least 8 months ago. I mean, nobody forced them to do so. I think they should stop using products that are unlikely to be released in the near future, or even to be released in the end in showcase videos of new products that will soon be released.
rcjonessnp175 Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I think it's in a alpha release state now. The testers have been flying it for awhile ya theirs problems but in my opinion things would get squashed quicker with more feed back from more of a diverse system base. But ya I know the forums would be full of complaints because of bugs and or features. I7 4770k @ 4.6, sli 980 evga oc edition, ssdx2, Sony 55 inch edid hack nvidia 3dvision. cichlidfan Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 It was an overwhelming majority that said the same thing. Like 95% of them sated that, they aren't interested in trainers anyway!
