Phantom453 Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Would be good if we could get some indication in the near future of the minimum/ recommended hardware requirements to run DCSW 2.0 I'd be keen to have my box set up ready to go when 2.0 drops.

Winfield_Gold Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Will World 2.0 allow the intergration of video's to be added to the start of a briefing for missions? rather than have the group watch the video on a website that leads into the game? currently alt + tab seems to crash on some systems and this may be fixed if we are able to add .mp4 or avi videos to a mission briefing in game. I think this would be good for multiplayer missions etc or single player missions so that mission makers have a way of expressing the mission with video rather than words. Currently I can't find a way to do this and I think this feature would be awesome if added to world 2.0 1

Dappman Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Please tell me when DCS World 2 comes out we won't lose all the controls we set up. That would REALLY suck.
Silver_Dragon Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 DCS: W 2.0 can be a new install (unified EXE), no a update of DCS: W 1.0. Surely, you need configure your control from scratch. sobek Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 DCS: W 2.0 can be a new install (unified EXE), no a update of DCS: W 1.0. Surely, you need configure your control from scratch. Both not necessarily correct. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
cichlidfan Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Actually, considering the restructuring of the control mapping system, in v1.2.8, I would not be surprised if we will be able to import existing diff.lua files into v2.0. Extreme 8GB, Corsair HX1000i, Phillips BDM4065UC 40" 4k monitor, VX2258 TouchScreen, TIR 5 w/ProClip, TM Warthog, VKB Gladiator Pro, Saitek X56, et. al., MFG Crosswind Pedals #1199, VolairSim Pit, Rift CV1
Dappman Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I'm not computer savvy enough to know what dif.lua files are. It would be cool if ED gave us a heads up if the controls are going to be reset or not, and if possible gave us noobs a guide on how to transfer them over.
ED Team NineLine Posted June 4, 2015 ED Team Posted June 4, 2015 (edited) I'm not computer savvy enough to know what dif.lua files are. It would be cool if ED gave us a heads up if the controls are going to be reset or not, and if possible gave us noobs a guide on how to transfer them over. We have no info on it one way or the other, it could be as simple as any other upgrade, they may recommend redoing them, again, lets wait till closer to release, more than likely this will go open beta anyways, your original install should be safe if this is the case and you will have a heads up if they need to be redone. Mango Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Will our campaign progress be preserved when upgrading to version 2? I have two campaigns I can't be bothered to finish because of poor FPS. Hoping I can continue them if the upgrade improves performance.

I think we will know this stuff better when a release candidate is in testing, right now its hard to say, I wouldnt think that would be effected, but I wont say 100% right now... thxne Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Since I keep seeing people mentioning the whole movement of the thread to the DCS World section and the mention of DCS World 2 being released coincide with NTTR.. Well, I would assume so since the first post in this thread says "The first new map being developed for DCS World 2 is the NTTR map." :P

Well, I would assume so since the first post in this thread says "The first new map being developed for DCS World 2 is the NTTR map." :P Keep in mind that the current map will still work under DCS 2.0, so a new map does not have to coincide with the release of 2.0. :) 1 ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! ED Team NineLine Posted June 5, 2015 ED Team Posted June 5, 2015 Ah, that's pretty neat! :) I wonder how much 2.0 is going to cost... Read the first post in this thread, 2.0 is a free update. Maps will be payware, NTTR is free to those that took part in the A-10C beta. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
