The radar on the viggen is a ground mapping radar?

B) We're working on adjusting to the situation. And yes, this was a "leak" and unintentional.

I am guessing you guys are looking to realease a small update of some sort?

i guess that's all you can really do to "adjust" the situation :noexpression:

Be careful in the future.. This is not the first time things have been "leaked" through steamdb.

Edit:

No matter how this turns out, i think you can remove your "delaymeister" tag now :P

Err, alright then?

A) We have commented, albeit very briefly.

B) We're working on adjusting to the situation. And yes, this was a "leak" and unintentional.

Sorry, I just haven´t noticed that comment. My apologies.

And one last thing from my side about this topic:

I think, no matter if I was hoping for another module, every new addition to DCS is a good one. We definitely need more products on this platform. We all know the combat flight-sim marked is in very bad condition. DCSW is all we have right now. So we really should support these small companies who are trying to enrich us with good products.

Yes the Radar of the AJ/AJS-37 has a Ground mapping mode.

It also has a Air-Ground Targeting mode aswell as an Air-Air Mode.

Why are people getting down on Leatherneck/Cobra?

Sure the Viggen might not be your desired aircraft but the guys obviously have access to an actual Viggen cockpit, reams of local information/data and a passion for bring the aircraft to life. Even better it is the AJS version with ground mapping radar and lots of options for ordinance. Hey it would be great to see a JA as well, but I think that a ground attack variant is more exciting and the more under-represented role within the larger DCS picture.

The only thing that would be better would be a Draken.

Mig-21 was a module that people were not too hot on and that turned out to be amazing and flipped peoples opinions on it because of it's attention to detail and care. Viggen and the F4U will be no different given that history.

Leatherneck will be none too pleases about this leak and it is a distraction from their work that shouldn't of happened. Maybe they were working up to a big Christmas reveal or something and how great would of that been? Sure people would of been upset regarding that it was the Viggen and the Corsair and not a Zero/F-4/SU-22/Mig-23 etcetera but at least it would of been information released with ALL the relevant information about the products/modules and not simply a couple of names released into the wind.

Sharing opinions is all well and good - there is no reason that it cannot be done respectfully and constructively.

Oh...

Could one be allowed to hope that LN chooses to include both the AJ and the AJS variant, for the widest possible time span? :)

Shouldn't be too hard for them, since it is practically the same aircraft, just to remove some loadout and weapons systems features fromt the AJS?

Should give space for some good old fashioned cold war missions. :)

Well, even though not completely correct, that could be achieved just by limiting the weapons available (in the mission)? :music_whistling:

Not sure I would have chosen the Viggen and it's an ugly brute.

Still, I'm really looking forward to the F-14 Tomcat, F-4[C/D/U?) Corsair and carrier operations. :)

The Viggen would probably be my pick for the best looking Jet aircraft.

PS that picture is a JA-37 and not a AJS-37 But the Visual Differance is minimal other then the difference Camo Scheme.

They could actually make it as a loadout feature, like it is considered with ED's Spitfire vingtips:

Put a tickmark and voilá: smaller loadout, older weapons and reduced electronics capabilities. :)

Too confusing. Would you put a tickmark feuture for the A-10C that converts it into FC3 A-10A? No, if we are having an additional AJ, I want a separate AJ among the listed aircraft.

Viggen like Viggen, I dont have any interest in it.

But where exactly Leatherneck wants to take us with Iwo Jima, Okinawa and so on ? I mean ED struggles with Normandy stuff, they still did not provide even decent damage models for ww2 modules, map is still a matter of gossips rather than facts and the rate at which new aircraft are released is lower than low.

And LS would try to go all alone on the new theater, with aircraft (both pilot and ai controlled) and maps ... I really want to know how they will work that out. They have all my support, but still they are going into a very dangerous area :)

Maybe this thread should now be closed or merged? Kind futile to speculate when the aircraft in development are now pretty much a given.

I feel the exact opposite. That F-16 variant is one of the ugliest birds ever.

Or maybe we should start discussing the aircraft we think Leatherneck will release after the Corsair, Viggen, and Tomcat.

I think it will be a Zero!
