Honestly looks like crap. Another game doomed by console appeasement.

Well the days of developers pushing the limits of graphics and games in general is over. Use to be the Sop of PC game developers, not anymore. It is the most underwhelming looking new game as of present.

They certainly aren't pushing the boundaries graphics wise but they aren't crap either. I'd rate them as industry standard 2010-2015. Truth be told, Bethesda has never gone nuts on the graphics. They've always done average graphics with amazingly gameplay. I don't think Fallout 4 will disappoint. :)

Are you serious? Oblivion was nuts for its time, Skyrim wasn't shabby either.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

Am I the only one who thinks that the new Fallouts suck ? I think that the transition into 3d hurt the game play a lot. I loved Fallout2 and played it many times with many different characters. F3 and Vegas I didn't even finished. I wish they made a proper 2d/iso Fallout again. With much less graphics a much more dialog and characters and story and locations and scale and much more rpg.

Yippieh!

I like both the old and the new Fallout. Nothing wrong to me with the visual style/graphics of the fourth installment. When did animations in Bethesda RPGs not look a little awkward? :smilewink:

I would think that FO4, like FO3, uses an updated engine from its TES-predecessor. So far, it looks way better than Skyrim.

Their strength is not to push graphical fidelity to the absolute maximum, but to offer unique, unobstructed open world gameplay / interaction. That´s what makes those games as great as they are.

I bought Skyrim the day after release, I immediately wondered why all the textures were so horribly low resolution. Even with their official HD textures pack, it was still relatively low res. It looked like it was designed for 800x600 or something silly. Don't get me wrong, I love Skyrim but it isn't amazing graphics that made the game. I had similar thoughts on Oblivion when it came out.

lanmancz, probably.:P The market for that kind of game is rather small outside the phone/tablet platform. I don't have any interest in them.

Texture Resolution isn't all. Both oblivion and Skyrim had enormous drawing distance for an RPG.

You should try :smilewink: From recent releases I can recommend Pillars Of Eternity.

I love Fallout - especially 2 and 3.

As for trailer, I would hope to see game's better graphics, this one in video is hmmm quite poor to be honest.

But it is not the most important thing. I played ugly Fallout 2 and loved it, played Jagged Alliance 2 and loved it too. Not because of GFX.

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

I looked at the comment section in IGN... all these people complaining about "last gen graphix". That's depressing...

I loved Fallout 3 and New Vegas to death. Good story, good characters, good design... it's really the kind of game you can sit and play until you go to sleep.

I'll buy Fallout 4 the minute preorder goes live. Bethesda creates top quality and artistically inspired games; they deserve my hard-earned bucks. :)

Meh. Not hyped. :(

Going to wait & see untill there is more.

Perhaps it´s a good thing if there´s not too much hype from the start.

As long as they don´t mess with any major mechanics there´s not much potential for it to be a disappointing/bad game. People were calling FO3 a somewhat unoriginal "Oblivion with guns" when it came out. Really, I couldn´t think of anyone better suited to make a new Fallout title than Bethesda. You are right - gotta wait and see.

That does somewhat describe it. I actually enjoyed F3, but then i never played the original titles.

+1

Admittedly I still like the old FO3 teaser more:

Ron Perlman´s voice at the end still gives me chills.

Let´s hope FO4 will be just as darkly funny and cheesy.

Dingding! Absolutely. What made the Fallout games (1 and 2) great was their interface; the isometric turn-based gameplay, and the character interactions (including grouping together with NPCs).

The transition to FPS took a steaming dump all over everything that Fallout was.
