Fantastic news. Can't wait, luckily I get the map for free as purchased A10 in 2010. Looking forward to the answer ref the campaigns though, no issue purchasing them separate for would like the chance.

i get one map free. but it sucks i have to buy two more, i actually have 3 DCS accounts..

i mean like if i have two separate PCs, i cant log in under the same account.

When mulitcrew comes out, it seems like you have to have 2+ accounts if you want you friends to play online or LAN, which means you have to get 2+ of the same map or module...

i already started to buy some modules twice over because its so cheap on the sales..

i should ask this question on the next Q&A

I've got DCS on steam too...

Is there a way I can prepurchase the NTTR-Map and fly it in steam when it's released?

I bought all my modules on steam. If I want to switch to the non-steam-version, can I download the modules using the steam-keys?

Thanks :)

Yes, you can transfer your Steam keys to DCS stand-alone.

It's only the other way it doesn't work.

I transferred to stand-alone a long time ago.

If you then put DCS as a non-Steam game shortcut inside Steam, you get all Steam overlay features like before.

System specs:

Gigabyte Aorus Master, i7 9700K@std, GTX 1080TI OC, 32 GB 3000 MHz RAM, NVMe M.2 SSD, Oculus Quest VR (2x1600x1440)

Warthog HOTAS w/150mm extension, Slaw pedals, Gametrix Jetseat, TrackIR for monitor use

I am sure Steam will follow the same pattern as other releases. Yes you can use your steam keys for the stand-alone, but you cant go back to Steam.

Yes, Its reasonable to assume you have to buy 3 maps for 3 accounts... or else I will go to my local Ford dealership and ask if I can have another vehicle because I already bought one... perhaps Mcdonalds will give me another Big Mac, because after all I bought one already, and I have a family after all... fair right?

I hope at least the dedicated server won't need to buy all modules in the future, perhaps only the maps.

That's probably a safe bet. With a dedicated server you won't be operating any modules. Having to buy maps for the dedicated server is pretty much garaunteed in my book.

No link for the free dowload ?

Product not in my profil ?

No where it's says that we have to wait until releasedate ?!?!

One of my modules has no record of purchase and no key. I found it via an old email confirming purchase and got key from there. It isn't the a10 though its F86 iirc. Might be a place to start

To be honest, I've not had any interest in NTTR since it was first announced - but I've bought it anyway, because I expect there will be a lot of community-made campaigns written for it.

At the least, it will be good for navigation exercises!

Nah I'll pass.. Of all the historical theatre of war.. they had to pick Nevada? Not very immersive. Don't get me wrong I love DCS.

You are right, I mean its not like some of the largest Air Force/Military training events happen there or anything ;)

You missed this? :)

"This map originally started as a third party project with no input from Eagle Dynamics. However, as we started to develop DCS: A-10C, we realized that this map could serve as a great location for the A-10C training missions. To make this happen, we officially partnered with the third party team to help make this happen. We were so confident in this endeavor that we included a very early version as part of the original A-10C beta.

Unfortunately, due to several reasons, the third party team dissolved and Eagle was left holding the bag of a promised NTTR map to customers that had purchased it as part of A-10C. After taking over the project, it soon became apparent that the current engine was incapable of running the map at the desired quality levels vs. performance. In order to realize this map as first envisioned, an entirely new image generator would be required... this later became a key element of the new graphics engine.

Building a new graphics engine is never an easy or fast task and DCS World 2 has proved no different. However, the NTTR map has provided an excellent test bed for the new map rendering technologies. So, all that being said, the NTTR was developed for the following reasons:

1- For training missions of western aircraft.

2- To honor A-10C beta purchases.

3- Allow creation of Red Flag type missions centered on the NTTR.

4- New map technology test bed."

Um, .. you're kidding right? .. after waiting 5 years, .. and I still have to purchase Missions?

I had Missions (can't recall if they were all Red Flag missions or not, .. it was sooooo long ago) in Nevada 5 years ago, .. why would I have to pay for them now? :(

Sorry, .. but that would be unfair ..

Cheers

Tom

No. This is a completely different map than one provided with A-10C. If you remember, the old one was practically unplayable: broken airports, bad textures, few 3d models.

You get much more than you payed for (0$, as that was a gift in a first place).

Do not expect fairness.

The times of chivalry and fair competition are long gone.
