I really hope not, the last thing DCS needs is another trainer or subsonic attack aircraft... multi-role jets are desperately needed.

I for instance, am looking forward to the A-7. I also think it will be a great addition to the game and to the blue side in general.

I'm with you on the trainers though.

I greatly prefer single seat aircraft when it comes to fixed wing because multi seat involves dealing with dumb AI, even dumber humans (assuming any are even available) or trying to do two crew positions at once. Thus, the A-7 is what I'd be most interested in from those. DCS could really use a few supersonic ground pounders, the A-7 and Su-17 series are top of that list for me. The SEPECAT Jaguar and MiG-27K would also be cool. I probably would not buy an F-15E as the F/A-18C is more appealing to me and does the same thing and more. Currently, I have every plane in DCS except the three trainers. And that's despite some of them being offered for as little as $12 at one point. That should tell the developers everything they need to know about my thoughts on those.

We already have 2 too many high fidelity trainers in DCS with no released multirole fighters...for the love of God and all things Holy please no more trainers. No one wants them. We want combat aircraft!:D

I don't get the hate for aircraft trainers,i don't mind them one bit.We do need at least one or two modern american made aircraft trainers since all the others available are european ones.I want to see some 3rd parties create training qualification missions like VEAO is doing for the RAF.But for the US Air Force or Navy instead, with maps to go with the training.Hopefully Razbam can develop the T-2 Buckeye and A-7E Corsair II together because there both naval ops type aircraft and they both can learn from one another in the development process.

All of that seems rather dubious to me. Especially the part about needing two American trainers. I question the point of having even a single trainer aircraft in DCS and we already have 3. Now I do get that some people just want to fly trainer aircraft forever because they like them. That's fine and a perfectly reasonable thing. The MSFS series made its name off the Cessna 172, so there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting a T-38 or T-2. But you shouldn't lie to yourself or the community. You don't want them because you think a training campaign is going to help new players learn to use combat aircraft. Instead, you want those particular aircraft because you want them. It's ok, I promise not to make fun of you. I have a bit of a thing for the Maul M7 with floats, so I'm in no position to poke fun at anyone for liking the T-2 Buckeye.:smilewink:

No issue at all with trainers here (well... provided they are done well, which, unfortunately not currently the case with two I have but hopefully that will soon change). Of course, I prefer them to have some combat capability. And while like I've said I'd welcome some more (hopefuly well done) trainer-light combat aircraft, I completely agree, or rather admit what King_Hrothgar said above : I have no interest or intention what so ever in flying a training compaign with such aircraft and I don't think new players would care to fly such campaign much either. I would like a more combat capable hawk, a Yak-130 or some of those new South Korean / Chinese trainers, simply because I like them :).

That said, more directly combat oriented aircraft would be more welcome for me too.

As for the Corsair, I would love it, to be honest I hope it is the next RAZBAM module. Reasons for my preference goes like :

- We'll likely to get it relatively quick since they did A-7 for FSX before and it is a relatively simple aircraft.

- A very nice ground attack aircraft that has seldom seen a good combat flight sim treatment, if at all.

- Single seater

- A tend to prefer older aircraft anyway

- Would fit like a glove to growing number of Cold War aircraft

- Good blue counterpart for Su-25 and Su-25T.

Still, I would love F-15E as well if it can really be done to highly realistic and not too heavily guessworked standart. I think an early or may be mid-90s model may not be out of realm of possibility.

Or I would also love some more Mirages / Mirage derivatives, old or new.

I don't know if RAZBAM is into doing them, but, at this point I would really love some more Russian aircraft as well. Some of the Western birds I am most interested in are announced, so it's by time the ones I am interested on the other side of fence get some love as well :). Someone needs to do them now, RAZBAM or someone else :).

Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V

The Yak-130 is a trainer I'd actually be excited about, but not because it's a trainer. That thing can carry everything from laser/GPS guided anything to dumb bombs and sharpened sticks. And it does it in an agile airframe with a fully glass cockpit. Additionally, it seems the Russians are eager to sell them to anyone with the cash (and even a few without), so there shouldn't be any issues with secrecy. I doubt RAZBAM will take that one up though, they've toyed around publicly with a lot of different planes, but none of them are eastern designs afaik.

Yes. Yak-130 is the only trainer i would be interested in :)

I have this feeling that any planes coming up will seriously take a while, not to be pessimistic but at the way i see it now, i don't see why the rate at which new planes come out would become faster because DCS 2.0 is out, so basically since the Mirage 2000 took it's time to come out, imagine having to wait the same amount of time for another plane who might not be of your interest, saddening unfortunately :/

Even though i really appreciate the work of Razbam and the rest for taking time to make such good modules !

But to actually speculate on what's next, i would really hope to see the F-16, that's for sure !

I also wouldn't mind a Yak-130 - but not in place of the big boys :)

The one thing I would like about trainers, is the training missions and perhaps even a campaign / career that gets you ready for one of the many attack and fighter aircraft DCS has/will have to offer soon. BUT as none the trainers are have gotten that far yet, unfortunately.

I can fly the Ka-50 and A-10C and blow the hell out of anything with almost my eyes closed. But when it comes to actual piloting I've got no clue on proper procedures and maneuvers etc

I see no reason why you can't learn basic airmanship on an A-10, Ka-50 or F-86 for that matter. And the T-45 is little more than a renamed Hawk. As for the Yak-130, I don't consider it high priority, it's just an aircraft that is of interest to me and the one to do if someone really wants to do another trainer. My main interest in DCS is 1970 to 1991. The reason is there were a lot of aircraft types fielded and most of them are still around in some form or another. They also have the advantage of readily available information unlike the truly modern stuff.

F-15E Strike Eagle

This is the only thing i want from razbam/M2M after M2000C.

We want MULTIROLE FIGHTERS.

I really think they should do a Mirage 2000E

its the Export variant of the 2000C so it should require a minimal amount of work/time compared to a whole different aircraft.

Its able to carry a Laser/TV targeting pod making the 2000E able to use Laser guided munitions like GBUs and the AS-30L missile.

It also used with the Armat sead missile by multiple nations.

So that would be a great way to get a multirole aircraft for minimal effort since its visually identical to the 2000C and only very minimal changes to the cockpit (the radar display having other modes since its able to show the picture from the targeting pod aswell)

But other then that its just a slightly weaker radar,

(RDM radar instead of the RDI in the 2000C being modeld)

aswell as some different air-ground modes since it can use guided munitions.

It also has the same engine so should have the same flight model as the mirage 2000C.

I think this would be a great addon to the mirage 2000C module (maby make it a 10-20$ upgrade for owners of the mirage 2000C)

And also since it would not require as much work as a complete new aircraft it might even be out before the F/A-18 making it the first "true" multirole aircraft in the game (wich would be bound to bring more customers)
