ohh plox stahp teasing :DD That can mean anything form "we werent sure and had to check one thing, so fix that small thingy, roll it into closed testing, bam viggen 6 weeks lator.

If its anything like the Ohio summers of my youth, then the other problem is that the dewpoint is at 31C.

 

So....time to re-shoot those interior shots and post the teaser video, right? ;)

Here's something on topic, then! I mentioned last week that I didn't have any checklists for the AJS 37. Well, I was at the national archives today and now I do! Or, rather, I think these are memory items but I'm not sure if pilots were required to learn they all by heart. Something for your kneeboard?

That still appears to be the plan, yes. :-) as far as I've understood the research trips are mainly for cosmetic/visual stuff. :-)

It would get delayed way more than 6 months if they did a JA aswell as the AJS. It's a different aircraft in almost every single way.

At this point I'd personally prefer by far to have AJS-37, and if it will be done have the JA-37 to be added later.

 

It really is whole another aircraft, systems, airframe, engine, cockpit. I would expect it to add a lot of development time.

Well I remember last we heard of subject was LN would do a JA-37 too, but as an AI aircraft. I guess it was somewhere in this almost 250 page long thread :P.

 

But I have to admit that a cockpit research for it does sound somewhat strange :P.

Cobra only teases in text form. Actually, rumour has it that the whole Viggen wil be implemented in command line format only, to be more in line with what computers were able to do in the period when the AJS37 was developed. Who needs fancy 3d graphics when white text on a black background tells you all you need to know.

I seem to recall Cobra's post saying they had a couple of final research trips just pertaining more to cockpit geometry, rather than systems.

 

The lion's share of a DCS module is the systems and flight models, plus 3D work can be iterated on right up until launch.

Artwork has been lagging behind, hence the delay.

 

Yes, we hope to include a JA-37 (even Di) as an AI companion to the AJS. Doing a full-fledged JA-37Di is a lot of work. Perhaps a lite (FC) version down the line or something. No decisions made yet.

The main reason we've spent time with the Di lately is because it's the only Viggen around my parts (Graz). As mentioned previously, we've spent a lot of time in various AJ/AJS cockpits already.

Damn, it's so frustrating that there is no early access like for RAZBAMs M2000. It sounds like the Viggen is already much more finished then the M2000 was when it entered Early Access and maybe even more than it is now :D. But I still enjoyed to get my hands on it that early and would have loved if it was the same with the Viggen.

But I can understand why you guys take a totally different approach, given the complaining by some people everytime there is an early access for an unfinished product :(

 

Anyways, can't wait to get my hands on it! :joystick:
