Assuming the pre-purchase starts around the livestream (November 28 ) and the whole "2-3 week pre-purchase" thing happens that puts like two weeks between the Viggen and spitfire releases. The spit is officially said to release on December 16th.

Wondering if there has been a change of plans on LN's side? It seems unlikely there would be so little time between releases.

DCS modules are built up to a spec, not down to a schedule.

i dont understand why the Spit and the Viggen could not be released close together though as i dont understand how they compete since they are completely different and appeal to different people allot of the time.

(Since some are interested in ww2 aircraft and some are interested in more modern aircraft and then some are equally interested in both).

And if you want the Spit and the Viggen then you will get both sooner or later.

I think most aircraft for DCS are released when they are ready (and some times sooner ^^)

and not really held back due to release dates of other aircraft modules.

Adding a module to a release build can have a host of issues, adding two at the same time might just be more trouble than needed.

Kinda what I thought.

Welp I'm just gonna be hopelessly over optimistic by assuming the Viggen is closer than we think.

Someone's actually making a study-sim of the Viggen. SOMEONE. IS MAKING. A STUDY SIM OF THE VIGGEN.

The fact that I am not lying about this is more than enough reason for optimism.

Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!

My point was that waiting is too long, no matter how long it takes... Release could be tomorrow and it would still be too far in the future. But like posted above, someone is actually making a study sim class VIGGEN!!! :)

For the linguistically impaired, I proudly present Aircraft JA 37 flight manual, volume 1, chapter 1 - the unclassified part of the flight manual for the JA 37C, in English. It's the air superiority version, not the strike version we're getting, but many things are similar and there is no English flight manual for the AJS 37 so you gotta take what you can get.

See my post in the documentation thread if you want to read my complaining about what goes into making these.

Finally we can start reading into the meat of the Viggen

Thank you!

Edit: The effort you put into the translation and formatting is very obvious. The sentences flow very smoothly, I never would have guessed it wasn't originally english. The visual quality is fantasic, much better than many other manuals I've read.

He hasn't translated that as far as I know, it's an actual English version of the manual that he's scanned page by page with his phone. The archives doesn't allow him to take the document with him and due to preservation reasons it can't be photocopied. (I think)

All of this is obviously a tremendous amount of work and we are very grateful! :P

I didn't translate it, no. For some reason (Austria possibly?) there is an official English translation. If I wanted to translate 500 pages by myself I wouldn't have picked the wrong version of the aircraft to translate :V

Basically what RaXha said.
