Yeah but it was tested and mounted.

Sadly I agree we probably won't get it due to Brimstone being too new.

F-14 was tested and mounted with AMRAAM, but in DCS chances are very high that we won't get it.

I doubt we'll get brimstone.

if i'm correct, than it's almost there anyway ;)

All new system.

It's a completely different missile.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Don't even get me started on that

Ohhh that's not a problem though is it? the phoenix will be great, if perhaps a little bit frustrating for the operator.

Brimstone is a radar guided missile (excepting the terminal laser guided attack of the Dual mode variant), so until ED develop a ground attack radar we wouldn't see it anyway.

I've been using the rack of 4 x Hellfires as a substitute on a flyable Tornado mod (using the SU-25T avionics) and it provides useful precision guided attacks as long as there isn't too much in the way of enemy air defence.

But for how long can harrier hover, and with what loadout?

The GR.7 had 90 seconds of demineralised water to use for the hovver, after that then you'll start to damage the engine. Normal return to base was with two fuel tanks, although a rolling vertical landing was more usual with a heavier jet and some jets performed better than others. Most jets had different size leading edge root extensions fitted (LERX) which made a difference to performance. Very unusual/almost unheard of for a Harrier to hovver land with a heavy load out, especially if they were anywhere hot/high. If heavy they'd do a conventional landing, and in an emergency a straight in fix throttle approach seemed to be the norm. Hope that helps a bit?

For those of you who who have not listened to the DCS podcast.

RAZBAM devs confirmed in an interview that Harrier GR7 & GR9 are going to be the next modules.

They said that development time will hopefully be around one year.

Some of the other things they said:

- T-2 Buckeye is pretty much cancelled and is not expected to see the light of the day any time soon

- After ED gives RAZBAM devs a feasible ground radar, they plan on doing F-15E and A-7

- RAZBAM plans to produce two modules per year in the future

Harriers...... Well i would say that jumb jets are truly something that would complete this game. Can you imagine flying low in Caucasus with a Harrier? The last time i flew one was in a game that was based around a campaign in Timor.

A7 is a personal loved one for me, but the F15E is going to bring allot of new people in game, though this means we are going to need smt to counter its awesomeness like the Su35 or Mig29 PUK maybe?

Now lets focus a bit.....

Regarding the F15 Epsilon

If we are talking about a fully simulated model with clickable cockpit and all bells and whistles we can think off this would mean that:

1: It would be the most complete experience ever simulated in any game.

2: The Level of complexity would mean it would be the most demanding Plane for the Player-Pilots (Imagine the F16 of Falcon with the A10C of DCS^2 most probably)

3: It would mean that it would be the most flexible plane regarding available weapon availability (hopefully) and versatility.

4: It would work as a HUGE Lure for new players.

I could only hope for the capability of a mission where we could deliver a tactical Nuke. This would truly draw immense, needed, attention

I don't think any Typhoon in the world can use Brimstones operationally yet anyway

Legacy Brimstone isn't an incredibly new system though and I believe they were integrated on GR9s at least

I remember reading that after the operations in Libya NATO urged for homologation with all NATO planes for the Brimstone since its performance was in a word MINDBLOWING.

Well it certainly blew more things up then just minds...... mind you. :D

ps

iirc there were issues with the source code for various types though. i could be wrong here, it is a piece of info i got in a misty corner of my brain.

We should be getting the Maverick so I'm not to worried about it.

Albeit you only get 4 and not 12 that you would with Brimstone :(

18 if you don't bring drop tanks

What does owning a real thing has to do with the simulators? I don't follow your logic here. No F16 fan has a real aircraft in his garage either.

There is no logic here, juste trying to put out an exemple of what you've put forward... From you're point of view, if you are an F-16 fan than you HAVE to have played Falcon thing, it simply doesn't work like that, so please don't bring out arguments to heat things up on purpose...

Relax, my original comment wasn't even serious.

Besides, half of the posts you've made on the forum are about f16, I'm not going to waste time on arguments with you.
