So I've had the Huey since it came out but have not flown it much or posted much either although I've been using DCS for years. I am amazed at this module and this campaign is fantastic!

I spent all my time in the Army working on and flying in these and it is so fun to re-create these memories. Thank you for all the hard work on these missions, I just flew #4 and loved the way I was waved off the LZ and then was overweight after picking up the casualties... I tried a maxp takeoff to clear the trees, beeped the incr/decr switch up and no go... had to spin around a get a run in the small clearing, get through ETL and cyclic climb out of there! Totally badass and realistic.

Keep up the good work!

I would love to see more missions in more interesting terrain areas, coastal maybe? Flying over Kansas gets boring pretty quick!

Just flew the first couple. Nice stuff --- lots of theatre and good opportunities to hone skills.

One minor question: I do not think that ambulances/medivac/red cross are allowed to be armed under the Geneva Convention? Am I wrong? So those door gunners are a no-no? IIRC, that being unarmed has been the policy on dedicated medivac helicopters from the Vietnam era through the present. Minor quibble, I know. But it DID throw me off to look back and see those mean-if-bored-looking gunners in the back of medivac!

I think the 1st Air Cav did have gunners. The NVA/VC just looked at the Red Crosses as big bulls-eyes.

I just finished the campaign and it was a blast. I can't wait to fly the rest of it when it comes out. Any estimate on when to expect it?

Very strange. Today playing the campaign leaving Dublin my left door gunner just.. died. No maneuver or loss of any other parts no enemy fire. After finishing the mission successfully (the one where you laager with the line of helos and tune into the US anthem on FM 40.00) I looked through the stats and his death was listed as would a random equipment failure. Are the door gunners considered equipment by the game?

Yes they are sort of equipment as you can kill them with the system failure commands in the mission editors equipment failure system or threw the trigger commands as well.

Cheers, Ian.

I figured it was an equip failure it was just illuminating to see the door gunmers are a 'system'. The whole flight i was wondering how he he died. I guess the golden bb hit him a l morg in flight of the intruder.

Maddog thx for your reply youre a gaming legend to me with the il2 series etc.

update. intel was very interested a door gunner died almost immediately after leaving the FARP. turns out the FARP barber was VC and had his friends take a potshot. we lost a good man. We turnd the barber over to the ARVN, knowing damn well how thatll end for him. we.re glad. the kid was real short.

Hey everybody (in a doctor nick voice).

Sorry it's been quiet here recently, I burned out a bit making this. Just to let you know I'm still working on it (I've been re-reading a lot of source material for fresh ideas).

I hope the next release will be the complete campaign. I'm still aiming for about 20 missions in the campaign, so it's a bit of a slog but I'll get there.

Good to see your still at it, I was starting to wonder what happened to you.

Take your time or you will burn out, there is no great urgency to get it done, except for us adoring fans waiting in the wings for you next creation.

I can't speak for others here, and I don't do it often enough either, but I would like to say a bit thank you to all the mission makers out there for their efforts, you may not get much feed back about your missions, but I am sure a lot of people are enjoying them never the less. I have spend an aweful lot of my time editing old mission over the years, that no longer worked properly on later versions of DCS to their former glory so I can play them with friends.

Regards, Ian.

Great to see you're getting back into it!

No worries, don't rush it. If you've finished by the end of next week, that'll be quick enough.

Just kidding, of course. Take all the time you need. If you don't enjoy creating the missions, flying them will be much less enjoyable as well.

Happy new year everyone. Just a quick message to let you know the progress.

I've had a lot of issues with the missions since one of the DCS patches so I'm having to tinker to get them working properly again. I've also had a few internet issues (uploading woes), which has slowed me down.

I hope to get the thing released this month, and it's looking like it will be 15 missions. Sorry it's not more but the constant faffing has killed my enthusiasm a bit.

When it's done I'll post here.

However, I intend to start work on a part 2 early this year.

Anyway, thanks for all the support.

Good evening all.

The final version is now complete and available for download (the link may take a little while to start working).

I hope you all enjoy it, and if you encounter any problems let me know.

I haven't played it through yet as I'm sick of the sight of it :music_whistling:, but I have played all the missions individually and they all work as of 09/01/2017.

Thanks all, and happy medevaccing (is that a word?)

Congrats on finishing the campaign, will give it a whirl some time.

Thanks for your persistence, as I know how frustrating it is with the state of issues through out the DCS development cycle. I myself find the v1.55x mission editor and DCS core program so unstable I can't work with it any more, just too many random issues.:cry_2:

I was really enjoying your initial missions for this campaign with a fly buddy in a re-written multiplayer version, so much so that I rewrote them to have proper troop drop off and pickups using the DCS embark and disembark options, but alas that is stuffed now:cry:.

All the best.
