My unit from BB is shipping and will be here Wed. Once it all checks out and no probs after a couple weeks, I will cancel my pre-order.

 

If there is a problem, all BB will be able to do is refund my money- not give me a replacement since they more than likely will not have any in stock.

Just got my CV1 and waiting for DCS Updater to finish downloading the latest revision (haven't flown for a couple of months). Is there a 'how to' setup guide or do I just fire it up and put the headset on?

Pretty much just install Oculus' software and configure with it. And then start DCS and check "Auto detect Oculus Rift" from the settings menu and it should work (requires a restart, though).

 

P.S. NumPad 5 centres your view once in DCS.

Wow!!!! I'm in an F-15 cockpit - REALLY!!!

 

For some reason though my controls seem screwed up and i'm getting uncommanded roll input. Anyone else had this? EDIT - turned out my throttle mapping was wrong - working now!

I've lost sound through my Oculus earphones - just coming out of my monitor. Worked fine for the first flight but then stopped mid way through a loop over Nellis. Any ideas?

Check your audio settings on the bottom right of your task bar. Ensure your Rift is setup as default.

Only thing I had to do was enable "Unknown Source" within Oculus software under the general settings for DCS to work.

Any issues with the A-10C missions using Oculus? I start an instant action mission and I get into the cockpit but it's paused and I can't find a way to unpause. I don't have this issue with F-15C instant action missions.

HA! Now you're bragging! :thumbup: I am in the Tampa Bay area, but when I access bestbuy.com and pull up the Oculus it tells me sold out. Is there any way to access store inventory on their site or do we need to call each store?

You can check each store on their website but you have to do it one at a time, so it is rather tedious if there are a lot of them around you.

Just trying to help :) I found mine in Springfield MO. Sage from our Squad found them outside of Indianapolis also. I wasn't able to get anything online. I just called.

If you can find an old list of which BB locations were doing the demo.... those seem to be the only ones that got any sale units. Can narrow down your call list.

DCS in the CV1 blows my mind!

 

2 question that may be simple so ill just ask them here, start a new thread if they are not well known.

 

#1 training missions in the rift, the switch highlights which tell you which ones to push dont seem to work. Is this known issue? is there a work around?

 

#2 instantly realised the default sitting position is right at the front of the seat so i moved that back so im sitting properly in the chair but now the hud is messed up. It seems to be sized for sitting on the end of the chair, now i cant see both the bottom and top at the same time. This must be normal in the rift, is there any known resolution?

You don't need that with Rift though. You just have to look, right?

Even when Forcing GPU to Higher Clocks, once you launch an APP, it will revert back.

 

Mainly Effects AMD and Some nVidia Cards.

 

Result is SEVERE JUDDERING/GHOSTING when Moving around and decreased frame rate in DCS.

 

ie, When My GPU Clocked back to 501MHz My FPS in DCS Dropped to like 15 or so.. lol.

The Oculus forums have become a crabfest over RMA complaints and waiting times...:music_whistling:

 

My card does not run at full speed, but close to it when running OH. I'll make it a point to inspect this when I fly again. Thank you! :thumbup:
