dimitriov Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Hi guys, Got the permission to publish this one. This video was recorded on the 2nd mission of the campaign. It's kinda like a preview of what you will do. You'll too notice that with a bit of training, piloting the Gazelle is quite easy. BTW sorry for my bad, very very bad english accent, and my possible Frenchitish mistakes ;) The Operation Dixmude Campaign will feature 12 missions, 80% of them being night ops. It will be solo playable on Caucasus release and multiplayable on its 7 first missions few days/weeks after. (Had to entirely rework the trigger system to allow the missions to adapt to the number of players, currently up to 4 Gazelles. ) Here you have it : [ame] [/ame] ++ Nicolas 1
Dave317 Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 (edited) Trying not to be negative but 'meatboy'. Is that the best call sign you could think of? Also is the English voice actor from the 40's? Sorry if that is someones real voice and not put on but I don't think I have ever heard anyone talk like that in England. Edited May 4, 2016 by Dave317
smnwrx Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Haha the call sign and voice actor accent are a bit silly. I like it! Great flying BTW
Yurgon Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Looks like fun, can't wait! Also don't have a problem with the voice acting, sounds totally okay to me, but then I'm not a native speaker. Anyway, I'd take VOs, even if they weren't perfect, over pure text any day.

I'll have you know, I used to have my voice procedure classmates and instructor in stitches with that voice waaaay back in basic combat wombat training! :P It's done as it was asked for. If you are so against it, you can always delete the voice files - but you won't know what's going on unless you then read the subtitles. Nice that the first comment is a whinge, though. About sums up the way these forums are nowadays. btw - I did all the English voices, not just that one. Hey, maybe the Mirage 2000 campaign should be redone as well, seeing as I did voice acting on that, too. You know what - I'm finished here. Dave317 Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Pick your toys up mate. If that what was asked for then fine. I'm not saying I'm against it and I won't be deleting the voice files. It just seems a strange accent to put on for a campaign set in relatively modern times.
bart Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 (edited) Campaign looks great Dimitriov. I actually like the voice-overs, had me smiling through it, well done Brixmis  I was waiting for the "Broadsword calling Danny Boy" bit.. lol.... nice work guy's. Nice that the first comment is a whinge, though. About sums up the way these forums are nowadays. Water off a ducks back mate, take no notice. I thought the humour was great, it got me smiling. Well done chaps! I don't think I have ever heard anyone talk like that in England. I guess you haven't come across many English military Officers? I knew LOTS of RAF aircrew that sounded just like that, on and off the radio! You know what - I'm finished here. Nooooo!!! Seriously, this community should be VERY GREATFUL to guy's like these, the effort they put into this stuff is award worthy in my view. Really enjoyed that video, thanks for posting it gents  Edited May 4, 2016 by bart System :- i7-12700K 3.6 GHz 12 core, ASUS ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming, 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200MHz, 24GB Asus ROG Strix Geforce RTX 3090, 1x 500GB Samsung 980 PRO M.2, 1x 2TB Samsung 980 PRO M.2, Corsair 1000W RMx Series Modular 80 Plus Gold PSU, Windows 10. BaD CrC Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 I think that might bother a small part of the British DCS pilots. Everybody else will be super happy to have voice acting in their missions! This adds so much immersion! Thanks Brixmis for your effort! Please stay! https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden

No I hadn't any other idea, I'm really sorry :) But you can record again the 200 Meatboy audios if you want :) Nicolas
HoneyBadger Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 (edited) To be fair, DCS is not known for it's voice acting. Any case, I'm excited, especially as 80% of the campaign is dark. Edited May 4, 2016 by HoneyBadger
Yurgon Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 To be fair, DCS is not known for it's voice acting. Well there's a lot of user generated content with top-notch voice acting, and I'm really glad several of the upcoming campaigns for new modules will include voice acting out of the box (as did the UN pilot campaign for the Huey, which was really well done).
Mt5_Roie Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 As one of the voice actors I think the campaign came out great. It's a group of aircraft from different nations coming together for some conflict. Hence the difference accents and voices. I play Hannibal btw, the lovable JTAC with a drone. Coder - Oculus Rift Guy - Court Jester
FSKRipper Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Looks great and I'm very amazed by this preview. Last but not least you did some really nice flying out there. I will wait to start the campaign until I master this baby as good as you have shown us. i9 9900K @ 5,0GHz | 1080GTX | 32GB RAM | 256GB, 512GB & 1TB Samsung SSDs | TIR5 w/ Track Clip | Virpil T-50 Stick with extension + Warthog Throttle | MFG Crosswind pedals | Gametrix 908 Jetseat [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Kayos Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Looks fantastic! Nice flying by the way. I can do that in my Gazelle yet, lol [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
YoYo Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Nice to see it and Love it! Is the campaign finished now? Will it be soon (two weeks be sure? ;) ) ? dimitriov Posted May 4, 2016 Author Posted May 4, 2016 Campaign will be on Caucasus release in solo. Multiplayer version will come a bit later. ;) 1
TaxmanTom Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 The campaign for the MiG 21 pushed me to go outside my comfort zone and really train on certain areas that I hadn't paid much attention to before. I'm sure this campaign is going to do the same for the gazelle! Looking forward to it. From that preview it looks like it's going to be very lively with the radio chatter and everything.
microvax Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 What curves do you use on your Warthog and do you use extension. Also what rudder pedals do you use. ? :D The main question here is can you get the gazelle flying with a stock warthog without saturation and curves settings ? Great Insight apart from that, looking forward to play the campaign. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] *unexpected flight behaviour* Oh shiii*** ! What ? Why ? What is happening ?
dimitriov Posted May 5, 2016 Author Posted May 5, 2016 I wrote it as a comment on the YT video ;) VKB Fat Black Mamba (without extension) Mfg Crosswind rudder Warthog throttle 0 curves or saturation. Was few weeks ago. Now I use a warthog with a 25 cm extension. I so put the following curves : 80 saturation (-)25 curve (yes, I set them more sensitive) Nicolas
microvax Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 OMG, Well you have to know i am playing on a pretty mid range 2011 computer, so I only get acceptable frames pretty much on minimum settings, and I just noticed I get MUCH more FPS in 1.5.. And its so much easier to fly in 1.5.3, i can fly her perfectly fine with a t16000m with no curves and no saturation in 1.5.3. ;D Im in heaven, now it feals actually soooo predicatble and oh yeash. Love that ;D EDIT: for clarification, easier then in 2.0 because FPS are much lower there for me. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] *unexpected flight behaviour* Oh shiii*** ! What ? Why ? What is happening ?
HoneyBadger Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 (edited) OMG, Well you have to know i am playing on a pretty mid range 2011 computer, so I only get acceptable frames pretty much on minimum settings, and I just noticed I get MUCH more FPS in 1.5.. EDIT: for clarification, easier then in 2.0 because FPS are much lower there for me. That's surprising to me; I can get a steady 60 on 2.0 in most situations but 1.5 Beta is really taxing. I get a maximum 40 but it drops to 20 constantly. Edited May 7, 2016 by HoneyBadger
microvax Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 I am running on 1.5.2 Graphics settings, with 1.5.3 I still get better fps then in 2.0 but that may be related to my GPU only having 512mb of memory. I think 2.0 is more an issue for me in terms of the GPU constantly having to fetch textures form main memory or even HDD, while rendering is kinda okay. But all very hazy, looking forward to build a rig this summer. :)) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] *unexpected flight behaviour* Oh shiii*** ! What ? Why ? What is happening ?

Example of constructive post "I'd like to see this and this improved because of this and this" ;) ) Nicolas Edited May 7, 2016 by dimitriov
HoneyBadger Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 I'm already 5 missions in (Fastest I've moved through a DCS campaign). Basing most of the missions at night was a really great choice.
