I install again Starway 2.5 texture mod but something is wrong with trees now I suppose.

It looks like 50% trees than before. Any idea?

Is the tree issue the same or fixed without starways?

I noticed some stampy patches and color differences since 1.55 especially on distance when thing haze up a bit and LODs switch to lower they don't match each other as good anymore.

 

But don't forget we're are in a transition phase.

Whether it is starway's or ED's end to fix we will get a new reworked map and then new starway textures for that.

So let's just deal with deforesting and alike for now and revisit the matter when both products are finished.

Ok, solved. Yes its a problem of Mustang mod (for trees, no shadows).

Yes, I have shadows on trees and below trees (as in default).

Mustang mod removed shadow on the tree.

but I agree with You. I hope Mustang will do again this mod (NO SHADOW TREES).

 

His trees are very good for FPS, this default have a negative impact for fps due of the reason shadows on trees, especially when You are using Nvidia Sparse Grid Supersampling X2, X4 ect. (NVidia Inspector).

Stock trees appear to one dimensional now, where before each tree was made up of four faces and they were all painted, now its only one face and painted on one side only.

 

So from one side you have a flat tree, and from the other side nothing, its transparent, gone !!

 

Get down low and close and have a look, its either something DCS are doing or my 1.5.5 game is screwed.

Starway, I know this is off topic but I wonder if you have plans for making some terrain textures (improving details/resolution) for NTTR map???...it would be GORGEOUS to know you are willing to do something for 2.0 :thumbup:

As I remeber yes and if you will download it You will see 2.4 info but inside is 2.5 - the latest version.

Best textures I think by far in every aspect but performance / FPS.

 

Best looking mountains at distance and up close

Best structures

Best looking trees

Best ground unit visibility - which is why I personally use these textures.

Wow, just so awesome - i came back after some Years (was playing Flanker and Flaming Cliffs) now i got myself a Mirage2000C (i am a Fan of this Plane) - can't wait for the Viggen though ^^

 

Little question for installation, is it enough if i download the latest Update "Black Sea Map 2.5" and install it, or do i have to go from first release through every update to have it complete? :)

Unlocked, my FPS is usually 60 dipping to 40 at times, so I just locked it at 35.

 

I'm sure this mod would probably reduce my FPS a bit if I unlocked it, but ignorance is bliss. :thumbup:
