I wonder how many people on here are using their Advent calendars to countdown to the Spitfire release instead of Christmas. :D

School holidays starts the day the spit is due for release, so I guess I will be getting lots of questions as I try to learn how to fly her. Anyone want a 7 year old for a couple of weeks?

Nothing was stirring not even a mouse - just an F5 key!

It's official (kidding), the Spit will be released tomorrow as my gaming computer just had the main SSD drive fail and I had to use my DCS drive (the only other SSD drive I have) until the new one arrives next week... So now that I can't play, it will definitely be coming out!

I am wondering maybe the WW2 Normandy map comes tomorrow as well next to the Spitfire ? :bounce:

I guess they would have announced that already.

By the sounds of this it seems like it's not quite there yet....

On the YouTube comments Wags responded to a ? about Normandy Map...

Wags" Still in work, but not at a state this week that I could use it"

Just FYI

There are times the new maps just dont work, its part of the development, it happens. Dont read too much into it, they have a lot of work to do yet, but on the good weeks its very flyable and drive-able ;) Its getting there :)

No, you would have seen a pre-order for it the same time as the Spitfire.

good point :D

however in the Spitfire startup tutorial video the Normandy map looked good enough for an early alpha release imho :D

At first I thought... meh WW2 planes... nah not interested. Then I did the tutorials for the TF-51D and took her for a spin and I have to say I like it. It feels like real flying, it's rough, it's rumbling, it's a little messy inside... it's like an animal you have to tame.

I can certainly imagine myself flying ww2 battles over normandy :)

It's not ready since it's not ready yet. Drawing conclusions based on a few screenshots and a youtube video is a bit too much. Don't you think? The only thing we can achieve is speculations.

F/A-18, F-16, F-14, M-2000C, A-10C, AV-8B, AJS-37 Viggen, F-5E-3, F-86F, MiG-21bis, MiG-15bis, L-39 Albatros, C-101 Aviojet, P-51D, Spitfire LF Mk. IX, Bf 109 4-K, UH-1H, Mi-8, Ka-50, NTTR, Normandy, Persian Gulf... and not enough time to fully enjoy it all

As sad as it is, but your logic makes perfect sense to me :sad_2:

But thanks for taking one for the team ;) Hope your new SSD will arrive soon.
