This. I want accurate engine modeling and a realistic startup. This is a fun module but as of now it's little more accurate than something you'd get in FSX.

I have to respectfully disagree. As an owner of the Dodosim (taught myself to hover with it before flight school) and many other 3rd party A/C that now collect virtual dust in my virtual hangar, I have to say I haven't flown anything in FSX that holds a candle to the DCS Huey in terms of FM and systems modeling.

The big thing with startups that could perhaps be better is the idle release button implementation.

Whats wrong with the idle release button implementation?

I would just like the throttle axis to not be locked to either a button press, or mouse wheel when the idle release button is pressed. It makes starting the the thing clumsier than it would be IRL.

Also, and I know this only affects a minority, it would if someone has a collective with a working idle release and twist throttle, it won't work right with the module as you would still have to have a button mapped to the idle release, as well as move or press something other than the physical throttle to go to idle.

A small gripe really, unless you are trying to use the sim as a procedural trainer for startup.

A fix could be to make the sim not read axis movements with the throttle closed, and the idle release button unpressed, and then have it unable to read less than 10% with the throttle >10% with the idle release button unpressed.

This could be a special option to be checked, depending on your personal control setup.

Team Belsimtek, any news?

And a rather important feature: MULTI CREW.

Absolutely YES! Multicrew was promised to us since this module started.

It would make education of new pilots so much easyer, raise realism of career from rookie over Co to Commander.

And, last but definitely not least, a huge raise of fun in gameplay!

Come on Belsimtek! After all this time: keep your promise!

Bought the huey and will buy the MI8 just my issue I noticed with Huey is that as a single pilot, there's too much focus on everything and a co pilot would be indeed a grateful help.. I can imagine the same for the MI8..

when looking at the current dcs products like f-5, viggen. it would be good a visual overhaul maybe, especially on cockpit textures.

Okay fine about the engine management I think I'm already on top of that.

I'd really like the perspective distortion fixed between flying pilot and co-pilot totally wrecks the flying, both seats are in the same plane really! Even the Gazelle seems to have that aspect correct.

Please this perspective thingy is a deal breaker.

Oh and be careful not to break the Huey, maybe make it classic verses improved (with AH1W) sort off. :pilotfly:

Just saying.

Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment.

Gazelle Mini-gun version is endorphins with rotors. See above.

Currently rolling with a Asus Z390 Prime, 9600K, 32GB RAM, SSD, 2080Ti and Windows 10Pro, Rift CV1. bu0836x and Scratch Built Pedals, Collective and Cyclic.

If they end up doing what every single person is asking on here and try to please everyone, you can bet it will be broken, and absolutely normal to get some problems, we just need some common sens. ;)

I know, I know, there's lots of other things that need adressing, engines etc. but damn I'd pay a 100 bucks for a DCS huey 2.0, using photogrammetry, ... The textures/modules just need an upgrade with coming PBR in mind. Quote from Cobra on the Viggen. "We mix photogrammetry and traditional modeling and sculpting workflows in a way where we can eliminate most of the baked in lighting and fall back on industry standard PBR techniques."

YES... we need this in the MI-8!

HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled.

DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), DLSS setting is quality at 1.0. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC... Everything needs upgrading in this system!.

Vaicom user and what a superb freebie it is! Virpil Mongoose T50M3 base & Mongoose CM2 Grip (not set for dead stick), Virpil TCS collective with counterbalance kit (woof woof). Virpil Apache Grip (OMG). MFG pedals with damper upgrade. Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound... goodbye VRS.

So why do we have the fish eye effect when turning towards co-pilots. I used to think it was the FOV, but after trying to adjust it to nullify the fish-eye effect, that's not the cause.

I've learned after all these years to ignore it, but still....

I look through these threads and they all just seem to go into the ether with no replies, at least that I saw, from the devs on the existing/reported issues. Not even acknowledgement of them in most cases. Is this how it is with these guys? Do any of you actually have any real faith that any of the issues will/are being addressed? I see other devs actually comment on posts. These guys just choose not too?

Not a word from a single member of the Belsimtek team that they even acknowledge the issues? I don't get the total lack of communication, even so much, we are working on stuff or we aren't. I just don't get it.

Yeah....The Huey, and the Mi-8 have become a major source of frustration for me. I love flying the Huey, but it seems that every time they update it and fix something, something else breaks.

Some modules I have to just not bother with because they'll cause me to get very frustrated. The Huey and Mi-8 have become two such modules.

Lately it seems like there are more and more that I'm shelving and waiting for patches and updates to.

Are you talking about the v2.0 choppers Zimmerdylan? Because at least the Hip works 100% correct in v1.5. Not sure about the Huey, though, since I haven't flown it in ages.

Yeah? I haven't done any external cargo ops in a long while so I didn't know that. Anyway, good to know, so thanks for telling me.
