Hi Everyone!

Thanks so much for all of your kind comments and support. It means the world to us.

We have a lot more planned for the next few days, but for now-- enjoy some screenshots of the Viggens' night lighting and a very short and raw, unedited video.

Some of you will no doubt notice a few bugs and issues in the night lighting -- fixes in progress! :)

Thanks,

LS

The lighting is just incredible. wow. Nice to see cockpit lighting actually lighting up the cockpit itself. Beautiful. Can't wait to see those improved lights in DCS all over...wingtip lights etc for FC3 jets and so on. :)

Well done, Leatherneck! :)

Can't wait to have my hands on it.

Cobra, does the HUD give any heading, speed and altitude info? I've failed to see any!

Nevermind, I just saw the video in a bigger screen.

Is that last sound related to the RWR?

Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for sharing. :)

Also, does the engine instrumentation have an indicator for which afterburner stage is lit? I saw indicators "1 2 3" illuminate as you advanced the throttle.

In a way. 1-2-3 lights are linked to the position of the throttle handle, and corresponds to the AB (or EBK in Swedish) stages. But it doesn't register the actual light-up of the stage.

Absolutetly stunning!

The attention to detail is fantastic!

Just look at the lines in the SI (Swedish acronym for Siktlinjesindikator, roughly translated to 'Sightline Indicator' in english, AKA HUD ;) )

The lines are slightly thinner, or actually less luminous, towards the ends... Just like the real SI..!

Cool, thank you!

Even without registering the ignition of each stage, it's still a handy and novel feature for the throttle. I'm not aware of any other aircraft that has it, most pilots rely on the "feel" to tell when each stage lights.

I remember reading about Chuck Yeager being quite unimpressed with this feature, when he got to test the Viggen. "A pilot knows where the throttle handle is" or something like that...

Personally, I think he was being cranky because he got to ride in the back of the SK 37 ;)

Yeah...pilots don't like to ride in the back seat, especially when they think they are famous. :) (Or know they are famous - like Chuck Yeager).

I still think that redundancy and points of reference are helpful, plus good for safety. Just my 2 cents.

That's what he said about AOA indicator as well. I have the utmost respect for the man like everyone else, but there are a lot of thing I don't agree with him on. With those kind of opinions I'm not sure man would be flying at all.

(Who needs altimeters when you have eyes, who needs jetengines when you got good old props, who needs missiles when you have guns. ect. ect.)

Luckily we are all allowed to have our own opinions!

Also great fecking video!

Absolutely!

And it's, what, 3 microswitches and 3 lamps. Not like it's a very complex and expensive system ;)

Interestingly he seemed more positive about it and other Swedish fighter jets when asked about them on facebook a while ago.

So maybe time has made him forgive the Swedish airforce for the insult of being relegated to the backseat. :D

It's just gorgeous. The presentation of the Viggen looks amazing and we know LN can deliver on flight modelling and "the experience" this module is going to be the new yard stick I think.

I cannot wait to get my hands on this puppy. Imagine the possibilities with the F-14 (and potentially the Draken :D )
