U guys use the torrent or HTTP D/L?

I was using torrent, but then it saturated my uplink and Wifey complained about Internet access. I'm using HTTP, and the one who must be obeyed is happy... ;)

Okay if you get .dll errors on Win10, you need to install MS Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3. helped for me..

Well, the idea of the torrent is that the more participate, the best the download bitrate will be ;) (not to mention avoiding to overload their servers)

Now that's fine, but it will be an estimated 3-4 hours just to update NTTR, and only then the download of Normandy (which should take a little more I suppose). It'll be a long night :D

Hmmm, not seeing Normandy on my list of owned terrains...

There's some problems on Module manager, you can download it via cmd:

dcs_updater.exe install NORMANDY_terrain

Ouch, 36 GB just for Nevada, that's why it took so long!

Is that normal it takes so much disk space?

nevada is a large download over 30gb

OK thanks, so my install is not messed up, since I had to restart the update I wasn't so sure.

Plenty of lovely texture/shadow/... maps and meshes!

Normandy seems more modest in comparison (though it's already quite big).

Hem, more than 10 minutes just to load NTTR is ... lengthy, especially from an SSD :/ I think it needs to recompile shaders, perhaps it's just that.

I did not see the Normandy terrain available after updating either. I went to my DCS WWII backers account, copied the key and pasted it into the license check box and clicked on Check. The next time I started DCS 2.1 I got a box saying that Normandy was ready to be installed.

  • ED Team
"Normandy 1944 map created by UGRA-MEDIA company"

so what's this company? nothing find on google.

is this another developer?

Yes, this map was developed by a 3rd party, that's been the plan from the start I believe. Obviously ED has a hand on it as well getting it into DCS World and such.
