AeroGator Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 get rid of the writing While UIV is on plane back to China and doesn't see, I can confess to you that I'd go without writing, too (if I as a buyer had an option). However, if we want the stick to be a copy, then a copy it should be, and if the originals have these prints, the copy should have them, too. - This is not the final decision right now, but looks like it is likely to be this way. Unless the users vote against it, of course. 1 > Best Regards from VKB Lair, AeroGator
WindyTX Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 If thats what they have then leave it , it was no big deal, but like real life the print will wear off and look a mess. aaron886 Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 To me it looks phenomenal! The labels wont match my assignments, in all likelyhood, but I love the look.
sc_neo Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 I am not a fan of the labeling and would rather have nothing printed on the stick at all. First, I will use it as "my go to versatile" for every aircraft stick, which means it will have different buttun designations depending on each individual aircraft. This means: most of the time all or parts of the printed labels will not coincide with the assigned function. I would probably then hesitate to configure it the way I want just to get the labeling order right with my button designation ....poor me :) And, it will probably smear off some day, and I inte d to keep it for a long time. Wouldn't be pretty I reckon. Why don't you make that an optional thing? Have two versions, one with and another without labels? Probably a vote would be good on this one.
Fri13 Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 (edited) I would go without texts too, as there is just this thing that we use this stick on everything else too and texts don't match. Only purpose of the text is then to be authentical replica, but if there is any other difference to real (grip texture, button functionality or shape) then I would just skip the texts in sake of "neutrality" and usability as we can bind things in our ways and not as written on grip. I would be totally for texts to come as a water-transfer ones like modeling kits has their signatures (flags, numbers etc) so you can choose to apply them or some other variant or not at all. I am not so for a 100% replica in this kind thing, like I dislike this in the TM-WH as you might want to bind other planes function to somewhere else or there ain't such so function and label doesn't match and it makes all feel.... Wrong. Logitech G940 has just numbers like S1, S2... For Stick. T1, T2.., for Throttle and then as the base LED buttons can have different functions, you can remove the cap and print own label and place under the transparent cap. So if something, I would go to "neutral" markings, even if unrealistic. And have a paper in a box to show the real layout, like now the layout between MCG/MCG-TM/MCG-PRO. I want this grip because the shape and functionality (lots of buttons, hats and axis) so I can use it as wanted with any simulator. As it is difficult to find (read impossible) a grip that has enough to be placed to it without modifiers. And this just is (will be) best grip out there right now! But that just me. And there is one thing less to wear out in time.... -- I usually post from my phone so please excuse any typos, inappropriate punctuation and capitalization, missing words and general lack of cohesion and sense in my posts..... AeroGator Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Guys I'm a bit surprised that so many (so far) voiced up their wish for a "clean" design, without print. Personally, I'm with you. However my word is not the final (yours probably is, if we have more voters). So please continue, let's get more people speak out. > Best Regards from VKB Lair, AeroGator
simo1000rr Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 i vote without labels as well as i will be using this for every plane assignment so " No labels please "
ram0506 Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 I really love the labels on it, that looks so beautiful! I would vote to leave them, if it matches the original stick. Even if it will not match my settings for the stick and I will use it in VR only and therefore won`t actually see it at all when using it. sc_neo Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Wouldn't it be quite easy to have it both ways? I imagine the labels are being printed on as a seperate step, either after it has been cleaned from the injection mold or at the very end after the final assembly is finished. Simply skip the printing for those that want a clean stick?
StandingCow Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 I vote without labels as well, but honestly either way doesn't bother me, I won't be bothered if they are there or not. 5900X - 32 GB 3600 RAM - 1080TI My Twitch Channel ~Moo
VampireNZ Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Personally given I use VR, the labels would not be much use to me. Nice idea and it looks good when new - but my vote would be to skip it. Vampire

horus-DCS Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 I would select the printed one. It looks beautiful. And the labels are also useful for the memorization of 'which is which'. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Kailorn Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 I would prefer no labels but I dont mind if it comes with them
dburne Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 If I were given a choice when ordering, I would choose no labels. However if the grip only came with the labels, I would still order as well. GriffonBR Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 That's funny, I do not remember nobody whining about the labels on the Cougar stick. Personally, I find it very useful, since it's a stick that we, western virtual pilots, are not familiarized. Dudikoff Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 (edited) I would much prefer having the labels like on the Cougar (TBH, I'd even prefer the native Cyrillic ones to match the stick better). Perhaps you could offer both options (with and without labels)? microvax Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 If I was to build a SU/MIG cockpit, sure I would love the labels, and the Grip looks amazing. With the analog axis basically the Grip I allways wanted. But personally I would go without the labels. They look great, but would just not match my asignments and that kinda is OCD triggering lel. :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] *unexpected flight behaviour* Oh shiii*** ! What ? Why ? What is happening ?
Sokol1_br Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Make the labels in Cyrillic, as their value is only decorative. :)
