Windows 10 Creators Edition ?

Anyone already running DCS World in the recently released Win 10 Creators Edition ?

LOL, caught you over here too. (Gramps). No issues other than it removed my Beats Audio program. You can implement the new "Game Mode" in DCS World, can't get it to work in BOS.

I have 2 issues with Creator's Build.

 

Thrustmastrer Target ( confirmed to be a bug, longer since Creator's around )

SRS: have no idea why my SRS suddenly refuses to open any executable ( usually a certificate issue as/from the developer seen that a couple times with other stuff )

Tried it and had same issues I had with the Anniversary Update. The Task bar ceases to function, apps are either very slow opening or don't open at all. Reverted back to my original Win10 install.

Just updated and tried out game mode. Completely unplayable with Oculus, major stutters and all out freezing for several seconds at a time.

 

I haven't done much troubleshooting yet, but I can't yet recommend upgrading.

 

Edit: After more troubleshooting, my gut feel is that putting DCS in Game Mode pulls all resources away from Oculus, which throws tracking out the window. At this time, if you use Oculus, DO NOT use game mode.

 

If anyone smarter than me (and there's lots of you out there!) have found a solution, please let us know!

 

I'm going to start a dedicated thread in the VR forum about this one.

 

 

Edit2: Appears from others in the VR section that this is isolated to something in my setup thus far.

Go to the updates page in settings and there should be a link to enable the download for early adopters

Just installed creator's edition ver. 1703. Works with no problems. No problems in DCS either. :thumbup:

ok need help now... I had windows 8.1 and now I updated to 10 (creator edition). With windows 8.1 I used ALT+ENTER to switch between full screen and windowed, but now it doesn't work when I hit ALT+ENTER ?? is because I have windows 10 or what? thanks

That should still work, regardless of your version of Windows.

 

Works here, use it daily to switch DCS and WoWships to FS.

 

Maybe update your GPU driver ??

fixed it, probably was caused by the new GPU drivers, opened the catalist control panel and then closed and now it's working again... maybe missing settings were the problem... very strange...

I've similiar issues with TrackIR in game mode: don't freeze but it seems to stutter much than before.

Maybe related to the fact that Trackir use an external application that win10's game mode leave out of resources.

My trackir software does not open in Windows 10 Creator. Are your TrackIr working?

Yes, working. I've installed the latest TrackIR update just after Win 10 creator.

Have you tried deinstallation and reinstallion of the drivers and the app?

windows 10 creators update 'game mode'...

 

Today I was updated with windows 10 creators update and so I tried the 'game mode'. I'm not sure if I'm actually seeing changes/improvements or imagining it. I think it's a little brighter but it might be a lot more bright for those not using the HDMI trick.

I'd like to hear what others are finding.

well... after a couple of days using those drivers I think something is broken... my problem happened again (impossible to switch full screen/windowed with ALT+ENTER in DCS), some games have problems (Cliffs of Dover) and some others don't run at all... reverted back to win10's default drivers (16.6 if I'm not wrong) and everything is working, haven't tried the 17.4.1 yet... will do soon

My Logitech K520 Keyboard doesnt work "full-featured" anymore. No Volume control, no extras etc..

 

The more I use this new Creator's Edition the more I find not working.

 

Damn me that I deleted the old version for SSD space...damn..no easy way back

 

Strange is, my TiR5 works ok....but my fps are kinda LOW now...LoL sticking around at 60fps and cant find out why and whose to blame..waahaaa

Next one in list is my brand new "dts" software from my Asus mobo. It's an audio control software where you set speaker/headset and DSP settings...NOT WORKING anymore, refuses to load, same as SRS basically.
