Vincent90 Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Isn't that why we have The Fighter Collection? ;)
BuzzU Posted April 13, 2017 Author Posted April 13, 2017 It's a little pricey. :) We can buy the P-51 for much cheaper. Probably, because there's more available. Buzz

I'd go for something with an APU or electric starter instead.

MAD-MM Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 This Company Meier Motors restore the WW2 Planes and sometimes sell it afterwards, there was also small batch of the Replica FW-190A/N build. When you have enough Money you can chose a Plane :D Once you have tasted Flight, you will forever walk the Earth with your Eyes turned Skyward. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 9./JG27
drPhibes Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Meier Motors rebuilds classic fighters for customers. They don't own these aircraft themselves. The 109s in question are part of Hangar10's collection. They're also selling a P-51D and a Yak 9U through platinum fighters.

Ala13_ManOWar Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Ive been watching warbirds pricing/listing for a few years now, never have I see a g series 109. Exciting to know that one is still on the marketIt's a n̶e̶w̶l̶y̶ ̶b̶u̶i̶l̶t̶ recent restoration. The only reason the price is so high is it's a German fighter, but IIRC it's done over the base of a Spanish Buchon (again) so they really piss me off saying it was built by Messerschmitt and so that's why they aim for a so high price. The plot thickens! But, surely, anyone seriously considering buying it will easily discover that fact, yes? I doubt there's any intent to deceive. Edited April 16, 2017 by Echo38
Ala13_ManOWar Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 The plot thickens! But, surely, anyone seriously considering buying it will easily discover that fact, yes? I doubt there's any intent to deceive.Well, I don't think they try to deceive, but they try to maximise their benefits for sure. It's a trick they usually use, not just Meier motors, all of the businesses involved in warbird restoration, just put there a couple of non-critical for airworthiness original parts and all of a sudden it's no longer a newly built aircraft but a "restoration". Bearing in mind they are pricing their n̶e̶w̶l̶y̶ ̶b̶u̶i̶l̶t̶ latest restoration in the 5M threshold instead of 1M it's usually seen for similar warbirds, it's easily understood why they are pretty interested in saying that's a Messerschmitt built one. But this time, if it's not just newly built it was even easier provided they (probably) based the built in a Spanish Buchon, they had almost all the work already done… Trying to remember a bit, this is probably one of the Texas barn Buchons sold like a year ago.
