Koty
Well... is the base input really important? From what I know, it was only used for manual rangefinding ála MiG-15/P-51 when the rangefinder was unserviceable, for this or that reason.

Darkwolf
looks lovely :) One question tho. Will you make a new R3-S or will you use already existing one (mig-21) ? It looks like weapons are getting multiplicated, i'm concerned we will end with countless cloned FAB series and R-series. It would be great if everyone could collaborate to unify missiles specs :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] PC simulator news site. It would be great if everyone could collaborate to unify missiles specs :) Yeah. Exactly. We do that when modding IL-2... ...though, we are not competitors, colleagues rather. No idea how about the DCS devs... Then again, up until recently we used to have quite a lot of variants of certain munitions, there was a mess in pivot points and hook positions so... we had a "fun" time unifying that part too... naming conventions, coding of ordnance that actually needed anything further beyond standard parameters... So, to say it in common-folk speech, standards matter as well and unless you are using one standard for all munitions, there is no chance for sharing them among devs.

MAD-MM
After I have seen some nice Pictures recently on FB, wonder how will the MIG-19 perform against F5 as example, is MIG-19 competitive in Turn Fight with Thrust to Weight Ratio constant turn Performance or more in direction MIG-21 with more Thrust and less Turn Performance as Interceptor? Once you have tasted Flight, you will forever walk the Earth with your Eyes turned Skyward. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 9./JG27
asla36
The design specification for the MiG-19 was to "make something that could out-turn anything the Allies have," so I would imagine that it would be quite good in a turn. However the MiG-19p was the all-weather interceptor variant. So it would be a safe bet to expect something not as capable in a turn, or vertical, as the base or MiG-19s models. As far as I can tell, with information from the most credible source ever (Wikipedia), the MiG-19 variants should be able to out-maneuver and out-climb the F-5. But the F-5 still has a major advantage in avionics and ordinance. DCS: MiG-23 [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC] Make it happen, and take my money! :D

probad
and endurance... but the mig-19 in the typical scenario found online will be a formidable opponent for the f-5. the mig-19 was a transition between the maneuverable fighters of korea and the fast interceptors of vietnam, so it's not particularly bad in any respect. i'm curious about its aoa limit, money is on it not being particularly good. asla36
And in top speed.:) Yup, that also. It will be interesting to see these fighting in pairs with MiG-21bis's, I imagine we would get a similar pair with the F-5E and F-4E. Having a longer range faster plane working together with a light dogfighter should be an interesting concept. Can't wait, so awesome! I will calm myself down with the fact that this will presumably take less time to make than something newer. Though not getting the Flogger is a shame, the Farmer isn't far behind in my wishlist! WinterH
Its wings are so steeply swept, the AoA limit may actually be surprisingly high due to that. Just a guess though, and not much else :). In a gun fight the MiG may still be a credible opponent to the F-5. asla36
oh you mean like the high low mix? F15 eagle and F16s? Sorta... I mean a combination of aircraft possessing opposite styles of engagement against a certain aircraft. So for example if a MiG-21bis and MiG-19p were to engage a pair F-5E's, the F-5E's would have to counter 2 styles of dog-fighting at the same time. Same would be with a pair of MiG-21bis's going up against an F-5E and F-4E. So the F-16 and F-15 would kinda fit into this category, though they wouldn't be the best example (using my weird definition, I don't even have a word for it).
