Haukka81
Any news/status on a new Anti-Aliasing technique with Deferred Shading specifically for VR? Is this an graphics Industry issue or specifically DCS is trying to figure out a better solution? Bumb for this , nineline can you ask please ? :) Would be nice for VR user get fxaa (works quite nice in other VR games when combined with small amount of PD ) and maybe some sharpen filter ? I believe work is on going on this, I have seen different options internally so I believe they are tuning and optimizing. Art-J
Is it just me or there has been a definite improvement to cockpit lighting? (Spit/ P-51) Havent's noticed anything obvious here really - apart from new scratches on P-51 canopy perspex in Caucasus Instant Takeoff mission, which aren't there in 2.5 - but with guys reporting various new improvements and/or issues in other planes, some unspecified, general lighting, shading and material tweaks were made for sure. The damned kaleidoscope of silly in-cockpit reflections when flying low over fields is still here as it was, however, especially messing up Spit's cockpit over Normandy as it used to. I wish ED did started doing something about it in near rather than distant future. On the other hand, while average framerate remains the same, the microstuttering in this version seems to be reduced, which I'm very happy about (with exception of Normandy which remains a mess). I also like adjusted external-vs-internal engine sound levels - my 2.5-battered eardrums really appreciate that! i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10. PeaceSells
Have just tested the new patch, including multiplayer. Now I can join servers on 1st attempt! And it plays out much smoother! And on top of all that we even got a new plane, the J-11, totally unexpected, at least by me! Thanks for this ED!! Art-J
@rrhode - if by nailed you mean they've thrown a bucket of sharp nails into the cockpit of our virtual -51 and rattled it around the sky for a few days with lots of negative G manoeuvres, then yes, they "nailed" the poor canopy allright :D. Perspex on SvTony's pics looks almost mint fresh in comparison (nice piccies by the way, though panel ones are not quite related to the reflection issue I'm thinking about)! Stuff on Mustang's canopy looks more like small cracks anyway, probably just a uniform layer added to alpha channel. Mind you, it's not an "issue" per se, just the very first thing I noticed after launching 2.5.1, a little overdone eyecandy effect and only seen against the sun. No biggie. @NL - roger that, will do later. The memory management thingy seems a bit finnicky, a bit too many dead freezes on mission loading plus crashes on game exit for my taste compared to 2.5, but otherwise a nice patch it is. wilbur81
2.5.1 Very Cool! Great work on 2.5.1, Matt and Team! Some cool things I've enjoyed so far: In the F-15C: 1. Loving how the AB illuminates the ground and aircraft when blowing at night. 2. The A/A missile explosions are absolutely spot on! Very cool effect, especially with the falling debris. 3. New ground explosion 'flash' looks awesome! 4. Canopy scratches look better/new? 5. Overall stuttering has been reduced for me. Seems like a really good patch! Esac_mirmidon
Why are you always so exagerated mate? Tons? Unplayable? Amateurs? Why cant you be a little more moderate in your adjectives? Im telling this in a positive way, im only trying to make you think twice when you choose words. I also make mistakes in my own posts. Not tons, XDD, but some from time to time. ED Team NineLine Posted April 27, 2018 Author ED Team Share Posted April 27, 2018 Yes, a good update with tons of broken things Enviado desde mi Moto Z Play mediante Tapatalk Maybe it would be better for you to avoid Open Beta and wait for release. The nature of Open Beta is for a larger sampling of people to test and find issues, and we appreciate all the help that we get with this, but it isnt for everyone. ED Team NineLine Posted April 27, 2018 Author ED Team Share Posted April 27, 2018 Sorry for being harsh. I get it, and you know something, everyone all the way up the latter gets just as frustrated. Just know nobody likes seeing broken stuff go out. And you have been much better than the past, just report the issues, help us help you and we will get everything taken care of, we all just wanna go play the sim with no issues too :) Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
