Will the final version include a campaign for F-18?

Because i dont want to pay 60$ to flying vs nothing...

Included campaigns have kind of become passé unfortunately but understandably since a quality campaign takes a lot of effort and would make the module more expensive. From what I've seen, there will be a slew of single and instant action missions and I imagine a ton of training missions.

The Module also includes US$ 16 in bonus points, in addition to the US$ 20 discount, that you could use on the future towards the purchase of Campaigns :)

But as with the A-10C in Pre-Purchase...do we get the F/A-18C Campaigns for free like we did with the Warthog?:pilotfly:

Campaigns expectations have become quite high, and the getting the quality people expect takes a lot of work, much of this has been pushed off to 3rd Party campaign builders, I dont know what the Hornet will come with in the end, but I can bet it will be the subject matter of a number of campaigns from others.

Wags updated the FAQ to say that he "can't say anything more about the carriers at this point".

The question about the hornet/carrier bundle has been asked many times and my guess is that that is the answer. i.e. they don't know.

I was shocked to see that it is available for prepurchase however it was disappointing that the early access isn't until the end of spring. Not in EDs part by any means, I will be deploying in early spring and wont get to fly it until late fall when I get back stateside!:doh::doh: Not sure if I want to prepurchase now for the $20 off or wait till I get back and see if it goes on sale at all, I have been eagerly awaiting this module!

Remember, ED has sales all the time. So I wouldn't sweat it, 13B! :D

I bought, but will I still live before I see it on my computer? Preorder in DCS World has not lasted so much time (half a year?), Gentlemen want to beat a new record. It is a pity that it is.

I am glad that there is already a preorder, but how many years have we been waiting for it? It's a bit embarrassing, there is nothing to be enjoyed so much, timing is not a strong side of ED. :(

I hear you, I want it *RIGHT NOW* too. But you can just ignore the pre-purchase and buy it later. And ED has sales all the time. I see it as contributing to ED's liquid cash to run their business. So if you consider how much they have invested, I think it's a worthy investment. And not at all unreasonable to do the early purchase.

I preordered.... I also have almost all the modules.... so for me, I don't mind.

latest for me: harrier AV-8B. I feel this one could wait until lots of things were fixed before Beta release.

Sometimes PRE order, and Beta doesn't really live up to expectations.

I think I would have waited with the harrier, until it was sorted better.... but one doesn't know until they get some seat time... the issues at hand.

Just something to think about.

I believe the F/A 18c will be shipped with basic flight controls and min. combat readiness.

Not a bad thing, but sometimes it is good to know, so expectations will be realistic.

I pre-ordered last night. Don't regret it now, and when I'm spending my time learning the basic systems like the back of my hand, I'm sure I also won't regret it. Good thing I have a job that keeps me pretty busy, so the time will fly.

The pre-order is the best deal you will get for F/A-18 for a while (1-1.5 year from release), to get an even lower price then this you will have to wait about 2 years from release. The question you need to ask is if you plan to fly the plane in the next 2 years or not. Because if you do, you may as well pre-order. I am not that hyped about this plane to be honest but I pre-order it anyway. first I wanted to support the developers of the best military fly sim, 2nd I want this particularly plane to be a big hit because it is the reason some new systems are implemented in DCS, and I want them to be implemented very well because the future F16 that is on hold for the moment, will make a very good use of those systems.

This is kind of a nobrainer...

The question is: Do you want the F-18 or not?

If yes, do you want to pay 60$ or 80$?

If not:

So i didnt understand, will F-18 module include campaigns? Im a pilot, who preffer to fly campaign, and Im sure that there are a lot of pilots like me, who want to play campaigns and who dont like to play multi.

So the question is very important. What will DCS say about F-18 campaigns?

I didn't see anything about a campaign, but I am ready to bet that we will get som SP mission beside training, and I am also ready to bet that we will get 3rd party campaign later on. And yes you are not alone, from all DCS pilots, only 29% are in to pvp.

Would be kinda weird if there was no campaign, since then they'd be charging more while cutting content at the same time.

Gonna wait til there's word on a bundle rather than risk purchasing the hornet, carriers and/or strait all separately.

Content is NOT getting cut. Both campaigns and modules are getting more complex and this has a cost associated with it.

As excited as I've been waiting for the F-18 to come out, at $80, you're out of your mind.

There is ZERO chance I support DCS with prices such as that.

And no - I don't consider "but it's $20 off right now" to be a valid argument. They're still attempting to claim $80 is a normal price, so screw that.

So don't, nobody is forcing you. You are more then welcome to wait for it to go on sale sometime in the future.
